Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks for your reply. LG phone I am referring to - I bought directly from Sprint because IPhone 6 I have wasn't eligible.

If I don't open LG and directly activate using iPhone 6, is it still done via IMEI swap?
It depends whether the LG is already set up on a plan.

Did you buy the phone along with a plan both from TeleSales?

Or are they two unrelated transactions?

Or have you only bought the phone so far but not yet set up the plan?

If you have set up a plan already, you should sign onto the plan online now and see what the terms of the plan are (on the dashboard, Manage Plan/ See Details). Does it say it is the free one-year BYOD Plan?

Is the LG shown as already on the plan?. If so, you would want to IMEI swap it off for the phone you want to use BUT clear it with TeleSales to get an RMA first for the phone. There would be no need to open the box to do so.

It seems to me the straightforward thing to do is simply call back the sales person and tell them you have decided to use your own phone instead and cancel the purchase of the LG and let them deal with the details. You still must port in a number from a competing carrier. Make sure to keep mentioning the Free Plan every time or there is a risk that they will forget that was your intention and make it a paid plan. This happened to a number of people.

This deal has too much info to read through.
What is a good phone that costs less than $100, and what's the cheapest and easiest way to have a number to port in?

Easiest way is to go buy a Hammond.
Then read and learn the following lyrics.
Lazy just stay in bed
You're lazy just stay in bed
You don't want no money
You don't want no bread
There any deals on a Hammond? ☺️

I was told the same, but it took less than 30 minutes for the port to complete
Turns out I gave the wrong Sprint pin to Tmobile. I went to the Tmobile store, they made a call to their port peeps and had the Sprint number ported in 2 minutes.

I can't imagine the Exodus of port outs when this promo ends. How can they afford this?

Bought LG phone with telesales along with BYOD plan. So think it will come setup already.

Just thought of sharing my experience..
Tried porting my pixel 2xl from H2O yesterday.
Per Sprint rep, the activation was successful, but I could never get call\data to work on the phone.
I kept getting the "SprintDM is configuring" notification for 3-4 hrs, but no success.
After diff troubleshooting ( dialer code, update prl etc), they created a tech ticket and told me that the resolution might take 3-5 days.. :-)

I decided to port the number back to FI.. Thanks Sprint!!

Sorry about thatFrown.. 3-5 days resolution timeframe was not worth it for me.
And this was my first sprint experience..
If anyone had similar experiences before and were able to make this work, please let me know..
The account might still be active on sprint and so I am assuming that I could go back incase there was a known solution out there.

You just have to know few tricks, you can do a transfer with one 2 dollar SIM card in less than an hour, get paid by rewards and one free year of service, can't beat this shiatzu. This my 2nd year with sprint.

This is my second year. Did port out to tmo and port in for the second year. Didn't face issues. As your account is setup, you can still port any number and tryout. Can beat something that comes free.

If you ported back out to Fi then your sprint account is closed. Edit: Sorry, the account may stay open til billing period end date
