Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

One year was done and line was moved out to another carrier.
Sprint rentension called and offered $600 credits. Declined.
They kept calling and upped it to $750 and offered basic plan of $30 a month (unlimited talk text and 2gb data) - 2 lines so $60.
Accepted. Free service for around 11 months or so.

How does the $750 credits work into the equation ? You had to upgrade phone ? How much is your total bill ?

Bought LG phone with telesales along with BYOD plan. So think it will come setup already.
Make sure it is the Free BYOD plan. There are paid BYOD plans too.

I know you meant the Free BYOD plan but you did not say it explicitly here this time at least. Guess which one they will tend to use if you just say BYOD plan to them? Quite a few people get caught by that.

I am on this plan and have iPhone 6S. I want to upgrade to either iPhone 8/X/XR.
What would the cheapest way to get one of these phones while being on this sprint Free BYOD plan?

Unrelated question for you.

I need to port out my Sprint line for a minute and port back in (not for this deal, but a different sprint offer).

Mint apparently requires that you have a paid plan before they let you port in.

What would be the easiest way to port out somewhere (and where) before porting back in?

Tmobile SIM from ebay? Google Voice? Something else?

Thanks!

Sorry about thatFrown.. 3-5 days resolution timeframe was not worth it for me.
And this was my first sprint experience..
If anyone had similar experiences before and were able to make this work, please let me know..
The account might still be active on sprint and so I am assuming that I could go back in case there was a known solution out there.

May be this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectF...r_network/

Or search on that error and there are some other posts with ideas as well.

It often takes a little trial and error but normally people here are able to resolve such issues.

Most people use TMO prepaid. Check the Wiki for several different ways to do that.

Most (not all) Sprint promos are for new customers only (ie. a different SSN is needed) so check that that will not be an obsolete in this case.

A minute may be much too short for safety. Systems on either side may detect it as a port failure or error. At the very least you would have to be very sure the first port had fully completed on both systems.

Thanks! Porting in for SWAC, and was recommended to use a new ssn, which I am doing.

I meant minute figuratively Stick Out Tongue Will keep line ported in for a few hours or so, or until I confirm phone number has left my sprint account.

I actually do have a tmobile prepaid sim. I called the number listed on this post and got a machine walking me through the process. When it got to the point of asking me for the activation code (which the ebay seller did not provide), I asked for a representative. They said higher than expected call wait times, and said they would call me back in 5-7 hours.

In the meantime, I saw that on the tmobile prepaid site (when activating the sim), I can sign up for a $3 prepaid plan with 30 minutes + pay as you go (PayGo).

I'm thinking I just do everything off the website if it lets me via the PayGo. Happy to pay another $3 on top of the digital SIM cost from ebay if it means I don't need to wait another 5-7 hours just to port.

Do you think handling it through the website with my ebay digital SIM on the PayGo plan will be sufficient to do all this without the physical SIM?

I am not the best person on those TMO Sim issues and will leave those for someone with more recent TMO experience than mine.

No worries--we'll see what happens. I just went ahead and did the online process.

I see my Sprint Hulu subscription is going to get canceled (just got an email about it), so I assume the porting process had some effect.

I still see the account on the sprint site, but it's been less than 15 minutes, so that would still make sense.

EDIT: Sprint line is now gone from my sprint.com account.

Will wait another hour or so before attempting to port back using my old Sprint SIM.

Just moved from Verizon. Online porting did not work but when I called their customer care...they did the same thing and number was moved in 10 mins. Make sure you don't cancel your previous service before the number is ported.

I think SWAC is an absolutely outstanding offer and am thinking of it as a possibility myself for when my current free plan expires at the end of next April and I lose the hotspot and HD streaming at that time. Maybe even earlier for me if I thought the SWAC offer would go away but I think it will stay open for at least that time frame.

SWAC is actually far better than the retention offers because you can switch up and down to both levels of SWAC once you are on it, and also when there are upgrades to SWAC over time you can get them. Some of these actually reduced the monthly cost in the past.
