Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Trying to do a device swap to a new G6 Play from Boost, but the Sprint site says "Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this phone. Sign in to find this phone on your account."

The phone was bought outright from Boost and is NIB. Any way to get this to work?
the party is over if recently bought online from Boost

I spoke to the Sprint rep but they want the IMEI # from the phone. The box only has an MEID # on it. If I open the box I think I'll get hit with a restocking fee should it not work and need to be returned.

In your estimation are the odds pretty good it should work if opened?

Edit: Just saw the reply above. So probably a no go?

I've been a Sprint customer for over 20 years, and the service is still terrible. However, it's dirt cheap. The amount of paying subscribers is dwindling rapidly, and their only idea to grow is to have non-paying subscribers overload their network.

I can't imagine the Exodus of port outs when this promo ends. How can they afford this?
They can't. But it'll be TMO's problem by then. Imagine valuing a business that ran up its register by giving out free merchandise so it could present to buyers that it has 3,000 customers a day coming in.

For those that have ported into prepaid Tmobile SIMs, are you sure that the account number is:

1[phonenumber]?

Sprint is saying that is an invalid account number, and getting a hold of someone at Tmobile in the prepaid department is impossible today (several hours worth of hold times, apparently).
The account number is your phone number. I ported in and out of Sprint just yesterday using a Tmobile prepaid digital sim

The MEID and IMEI are pretty much the same thing. I believe I gave them the HEX version of the MEID (the one that does NOT start with the number 9. The ICCID is on the box, as well, which you will need. You don't have to open the box for this info. If it does not work, you can return the phone un-opened. I only opened mine when Sprint said everything was good to go.

My 1 year is ending next month. It has been a great and super cheap experience paying only $3 per month. What is everyone else doing at the end of their 1 yr? Keeping the service or switching? One minor irritation was being unable to surf the web while on a call. (I have a Note 8).

Correct about IMEI=MEID+Extra last digit. Where the extra last digit is calculated from the MEID using the Luhn algorithm.

Skip the people in the front, they will deny you or you'll have to put up a fight and speak to a manager to get one. They will say they cant give you one without you having an account or some other mess. The service peoplein the back of the store are authorized and will give you as many as you need and will even offer to quickly activate it for you if you wanted that.

Just curious why you have been a Sprint customer for so long with such terrible service. There are three other major carriers to choose from and numerous MVNOs all with pretty competitive pricing. I only tried Sprint again after over seven years because it was free. If they had the same service quality as they did when I first tried them (for less than a month), I would have dropped them in a heartbeat. Luckily for me, they have improved in my area immensely and even have good coverage that was spotty with my former carrier Metro/T-Mobile.

This promo was just a different way to get customers. Cell companies in general do not make any money off of you in the first year because they first need to make back the expense of actually getting you in. Namely advertising costs. This promotion wasn't really advertised anywhere but on the internet and through word of mouth so TV and radio ad costs (which can be huge) were zero. They may have even saved money.
