Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I've had this plan for a month now, and had I known Cricket's 3mbps Unlimited plan was faster I would have just stuck with my free SIM card and instead of giving it back to the family who gave it to me. Indoors and outdoors I max out at 2-3mbps tops around most of my city, except standing directly in front of a Sprint store where they have Magic Box 3's lined across the entire store and then I manage to get a whopping 130mbps download speed. I've called in probably ten times now begging to be let known as to when the next shipment of Magic Boxes is coming in so that I could order one even if I had to pay for it, and always hear the same BS message over and over again. I'm not sure even paying the taxes on this plan is worth having a free Sprint phone at this point, but I'm signed up for a year and I'll keep the phone as such considering how much effort I put into signing up for a free year of service. The only reason I even keep the phone around now is to enable PDANet and hotspot it to my AT&T Trek 2 HD tablet and get a wireless signal on it when I'm out and about...that's it. I pay 3 bucks a month to get crap speeds on my AT&T tablet ironically. I'm not crapping on the Sprint lovers by all means, because if you love Sprint that means you're in an area where they have great coverage and prices....but here in the Memphis area it's the worst service you could sign up for, and that includes 3G only services.

I went ahead and returned the phone today, but while out and about I did some checking at Best Buy and Walmart. Every Boost MEID I entered into Sprint's site came back with the "You owe Sprint for this phone" message, so I went to two Sprint stores and they both flat out refused to sell me a phone outright even though the price was listed. They seemed really expensive anyway.

In the end I just ended up picking up an unlocked G6 @ Best Buy. Probably going to return it because BH Photo has the same model tax free and with a screen protector/case included. Wish Boost phones would just work b/c they're so cheap!
Quote from DelightfulDeer153 :
Don't know if it's important to you, but be aware that the unlocked g6 or g6 play, or any of the unlocked motos for that matter, do not support wifi-calling.
Nor Visual Voicemail. Nor possibly TMo roaming (not sure about that one). Nor HPUE signal enhancement. Nor carrier aggregation. Nor any possibility (probably) of VoLTE etc.

So I would not touch a generic non Sprint model myself. They are vastly inferior on Sprint. Some of the Sprint LG's are reasonable cost.

With my BYOD ending 10/31, I just today ported out to TMobile. Surprisingly, it is slower. Not by much, but slower with less bars on average.

So yeah, if it sucks in Memphis not much you can do about it. You try doing a network-restore procedure to your phone ?

They are holding off shipping the new generation of Magic Boxes until late November (as of now) to coincide with VoLTE and 5G rollout phases. They are not sending out any (old model or new model) until then (unless you are very very persuasive or lucky).

Works fine for me in Canada. Free unlimited data at 3G speed. My other line is straight talk Verizon which says no service anywhere outside of the us border. So it's nice to have service and some data. I don't pay extra for high speed though because my relatives all have wifi.

We have two used Sprint iPhone 5c phones on this plan. Got them for about $40 each on eBay for my kids. They work great.

Yes, yes if 2G (probably except for Canada and Mexico where 3G is free). Used in ~10 countries in Europe and nearby. Often got 3G upon landing, but then when message "Welcome to... " is continues to show 3G but speed it limited to 2G.

Free 2G? Nope. Free 2G is really cool thing when you arrive to Germany, rent car, drive thru Switzerland, Austria, Italy and then back Slovenia, Croatia, ... and end in Germany arriving from... Poland. While roaming is now free for EU subscribers who pay $5-15 per month without need to get a deals like this, it's still cool thing and 2G was enough for me for maps and navigation, google translate and get Uber (where it works Smilie ). But it was pain slow to browse web, music and up - impossible. If you are visiting some country for weekend, free data may work for you (I suppose you still have wifi at hotel). Visit multiple countries at once - even better. Stay in some country for a week, go mountains/parks/anywhere without wifi and wishing to stream music? I'd get cheap local SIM for a price of one or two coffees.

It's in all the description on the Sprint web site. This plan includes Global Roaming,
https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/se...aming.html
which offers the option of a high speed roaming "data pass" in most destinations for$5/day or $25/week, which is a great deal. People love it and come to Sprint for it because it is better than what other carriers offer.

You will be offered it on your phone as soon as you enter a foreign country. Of course you need a decent phone with lots of bands.

Or are you saying you had this plan and for some reason were not offered that, elGator? I was not sure.

Sorry but I didn't got why are you replying me with link to the Sprint page, it says the same as I said "service includes data up to 2G speeds and texts for no add'l charge". $5/day for a pass for a few days works well. But $40 for ten days is a bit expensive (don't forget that both incoming/outgoing calls are $.20)
