Were you able to port out to H2O just with a SIM card?
I've never ported to H2O so I'm not sure that can be done. With one of my lines, I had to port the number from Tello (Sprint network) to T-Mobile first before porting to Sprint for the free deal. T-Mobile allowed me to port my number over with just the sim. I told them I did not have my T-Mobile compatible device in hand yet and I just needed to port the number now so I didn't have to pay another Tello bill. Once the port was complete, I ported the number to Sprint for the free year deal.

Will this process work if I have one primary phone number which I dont want to lose? With digital SIMs you get a new phone number and then what?
The T-Mobile digital sim (or any sim for that matter) will allow you to either port a number or get a new number.

I had the issue with port out a google voice number and can't receive normal text message from Verizon and att user. It's a common problem to port out a google number. Ask for Sprint network team and let them create a ticket for you. Wait for couple days they probably rebroadcast the number no longer belong to google but to sprint. It will start to work again.

Just got an LG G6 (LS993) and it shows as eligible for the free year in case anyone was wondering, but I'm just doing a device swap. I don't think it's unlocked but I don't know for sure.

So far finding a compatible SIM has been pretty tough. All 3 Sprint stores I called didn't have any and one the Boost store sold me for $10 didn't work. I even called support but the rep said a G6 wasn't a supported device. I told her it was currently on sale on Sprint.com but ran out of time after 30 b/c people were waiting on me.

I ended up ordering SIMGLW416Q off Ebay so hopefully that will do the trick.

416Q is correct and is one of the most widely used sims. The letters ahead of 416Q can be SIMGLW or SIMOLW no matter.

It is included in the Sprint/Boost 3-in-one (or newer 4-in-one) sim pack available at all Sprint corporate stores, Best Buy, Boost, etc.

There is no difference whether you buy it at Boost or anywhere else.

If you bought the correct sim part and it did not work, it is the phone that has a problem, not the sim.

Twigby also has 416Q for 2.99 delivered. Just look for a sim for Samsung S8 if the LG G6 is not listed as they both take the same sim.

Dude this deal is awesome. I cant believe its real. You have to deal with sprints weird shim into the gsm world. And the sim cards are very oddly tied to the exact phone you set up. Theres no apn. Its weird and it sucks, some apps dont like the shim but hell it works and it gets signal and its flippin free! Thanks man

I bought LG phone from sprint along with free BYOD plan. I didn't like the phone and switched to IPhone 6 (unlocked one I had).

I am still within 14 days of phone purchase. Can I return LG phone in the sprint store without causing issue with BYOD plan? Per sprint policy, there might be restocking fee but that shouldn't apply if you are within 14 days, correct?

Also, I am not sure if I can (should) create RMA online before going to store.

when I tried a return the (outrageous) restocking fee would have applied during the 14 days. After 14 days there's no return.

YMMV.

They are just testing the FCC's resolve with such pronouncements. By winning the Block-C auction in 2008, they agreed and committed to not lock any phone. The bad publicity they are getting about the Pixel 3 already forced their hand, in just 3 days without any action by the FCC !

Just finished the activation step on the website and saw it showed:
FREE Unlimited data, talk and text until 9/30/19

Why is it only 09/30/19? Anyone see the same thing?
Thank you!

That's normal. It should show 11/30/19 when log in to account and check. It is recommended to always check online account to verify plan and make sure insurance wasn't added also.
