Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Please provide proof that the cost will rise if Tmobile brought Sprint or stop pulling things out of your ass

Sprint is dying and I would rather that Tmobile get brought out to have an edge against Verzion and ATT in the 5G race than for Sprint to burn to the ground and have a lot of employees being out of the job... unless you have an idea to save Sprint from dying further.

Lol. You can't go lower than Sprint free.

We actually have both a Verizon and a Sprint iPhone 5c on this plan.

Sprint service is trash, we all know but for $4.12 per month for my second phone, it's a good deal and unlimited and 6 months free of Tidal.

Others have replied with useful information, but let me just add that "Work" is a relative term.

Even the Sprint model of this early-LTE phone will lack high-speed data band 41, which is essential in my opinion for any serious data use outside anything but absolutely ideal circumstances.

The Verizon model would lack wide-area-coverage band 26 as well as lacking band 41, and so be even worse. It would be down to one single LTE band, band 25, which is heavily overloaded in quite a few areas.

If you mainly just want to make phone calls and use Wifi, though, the 5C could be fine.

Comintel and others,

Thanks for the reply. I want to "test out" Sprint's network before I fully commit to it. As a result, I purchased a T-Mobile e-sim off of ebay (as suggested in this thread) and will be setting up a new number to port to Sprint. I am looking at purchasing a Verizon iPhone 5C as that seems to be the least expensive iPhone option. I am primarily testing how well Sprint's network works for calls in my area.

Some questions:
- Would I be able to opt out of this BYOD free plan at any time and switch to a SWAC plan (I know I need a SWAC referral)?
- Can I purchase a Sprint sim from a local Sprint or Apple store?
- When buying a used iPhone 5C, is there anything specific I need to pay attention to? i.e. I just need to make sure it is a Verizon iPhone 5C

Thanks for all of your help,

Tom

Verizon 5C also does not support Sprint's wide-area Voice Band BC10 so your voice service would be severely impaired also. It would not be a good test at all of voice. The addition of 800 CDMA MHz voice has revolutionized Sprint's previously-inadequate voice coverage.

Sprint 5C does support it, of course.

Yes sims are free at most Apple stores. Or pay a few dollars a CORPORATE-owned Sprint store.

I would make sure it is the SPRINT model.

Even that will have a good chance of "You owe Sprint" rejection relating to any prior use on a Sprint mvno which is a long, long story unless you pre-check the imei on the Sprint tester (not on somebody else's tester by the way as these are often wrong for Sprint). This problem can be overcome usually though with time and effort.

Once you are the free offer, you could not immediately switch to SWAC on the same SSN without a 45 day wait or a different SSN.

Comintel,

Thanks. If I purchased an "unlocked" 5C, would it be just as good as the Sprint specific model? From my understanding, it would be a phone that would work on any carrier's network.

Testing Sprint's network with a phone like the 5C, with so few compatible CDMA bands, is not much of a test. It is like testing out the Autobahn in a Kia Rio.

I am sure my questions about cancellation were addressed already but I could find answers in FAQs.

1. Do I have to call to cancel the service before the 1 year ends? Can I cancel over online chat?

2. I do not have another SSN to use for one more year and I do not plan to port out to another carrier. After waiting for 45 days, if the promotion has not ended, can I sign up again using the same phone/SIM without flipping any flag? Do I need to ask Sprint to flip the flag from "SPCS" to "PLBL" when canceling the service?

Thanks!

Can I buy your phone? At least I'll know it'll work w/ this 'Free Unlimited Data' promo. Btw, is there a current (Oct. '18) list of phones that'll work w/ this promo? Also, is it a bad idea to go to my local Sprint store to help walk me through this process? Thanks
