Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes I agree that Wifi Calling is not adequate actually. Maybe VoLTE will be a lot better.

That is actually really bad if you do not have adequate CDMA Voice where you are. That is unusual I think but not unheard of. It is supposed to have been mostly fixed by 800 MHz CDMA voice. Maybe you are near the border or something. I would bug Sprint about it. Also the new Magic boxes will have CDMA voice.

However all Sprint branded Android phones have Wifi Calling. Also Visual VoiceMail.

Even my old Tribute HD's from years ago. So does my Samsung S8 of course. But you are right that iPhone is better for Wifi Calling universality.. Android is weak on that. I never buy generic Androids.

At least you would get your SMS's with Wifi Calling.

At least Sprint says so: "Android phones: SMS (text) is supported in Wi-Fi Calling mode. MMS (pictures and group texts) is supported on select devices in Wi-Fi Calling mode. Depending on the device manufacturer and messaging client, cellular coverage is required for MMS. For example, devices with the Android Messages client requires cellular coverage for MMS."

People think they can buy generic Androids and have adequate service and that is not the case..
I'm thinking of buying a used LG G5 Sprint branded on ebay for $74. Is that a decent deal? It's from a big seller but I'm worried about the bootloop issue on those phones. I'm not using a 35lbs mini cell receptor in the room so I get better coverage with Sprint, I plan on leaving them at the end of July next year.

I think potentially it is a good deal (apart from boot loop risk). But other people know more than I do and have been posting on LG's recently here. Hopefully they will post or you can search this thread.

Best way to deal with Sprint is too never call or chat with them lol. I did the whole free year BYOD thing through the website. I did instant chat with Sprint once to ask them about why my LTE service was only on 3g in my home development. They wanted to send me a magic box, I told them no thanks. Not going to get hit with a bill for that thing when I close my account next July. Service rep was dumb as bricks. Probably work out of a call center where they have contracts for like 6 different companies.
Why would you get a bill for the magic box? As long as you return it to them when you cancel, wouldn't that be work?

I don't feel like going through the hassle of returning it only for them to never "receive" it or something and sending me a bill for it. I'm also not fond of knowing that I basically have a mini cell tower receiver in my room.

Would someone please be so kind as to provide me a copy of the front page of one of their bills on this plan? Curious how this promo is showing up, if it shows gross $60 at the top and has a line breakout for the promotion or if it's just $0 or just the fees.

So how strict are they on the "No device upgrade allowed during first four months." policy? I have a Nexus 5 that I just got added to the Sprint database but would like to upgrade to the V30+ or Z2 force right after I port my line.

Upgrade is 4 months. If you own a Moto z2 then you can swap it onto a line at any time

Actually, the magic box works pretty well for me. Boost my signal a lot. And I contact them after my one year free is done. They sent me a return box, I packed it up, dropped to UPS. That's it!

I bought exactly that and I love the G5. Great cameras, the wide angle is great for landscapes and indoors when you can't get back far enough from your subjects.. I don't think bootloop is a big issue but you can always buy a warranty for a few dollars then you're not risking much.

Gps can be an issue so I would test that while you can still return it.

They enforce it -- don't buy from Sprint during the first 4 months

You can buy a phone on your own and swap it in whenever you want

They say yes but not in my experience. Which is shitty since I upgraded and have to pay off before I cancel or pay outright at time of cancelation. If not they're going to lock the phone until payment. Sprint also had terrible service. I live in Chicago...
Sprint has been awesome for me in Chicago and the surrounding states. Now on my second year of free service. 😀

Ported in yesterday afternoon. Ported our this morning. Yikes. Didn't think sprint could be so bad especially with all the subscribers that left since I last had sprint. Fastest LTE connection was 86kbps, upload at 1mbps. 60% of the time I couldn't even get an internet connection. Now on a Verizon double data plan $50 for 14gb.
