Could you explain how the upgrade works? I know you have to be on the plan for X amount of time... But outside of that, I dunno if you can "upgrade" from an old phone that you're not currently using etc

Hi,
May I ask, which phone model did you get via the "Essential Phone via upgrade" path?
Are there only specific phone models offered?

Thanks.

Does Sprint billing cycle begin the day the free plan is activated or is it the same date for everyone every month? If the plan is activated, let's say 11/19/2018, then from 11/19/2019 to 11/30/2019, would that be billed as the free plan and from 12/1/2019 to 12/18/2019 would be billed as the paid plan so there is proration at the end of when the free plan is supposed to end?
I too would be interested in knowing what the community thinks about this.

Here's my situation. I signed up around 9/10/17, so 9/10/18 would be my 1 year mark. My bill and dashboard both have the "savings until 9/30/18", so naturally I thought I'll be on the free plan until the end of September and then a prorated paid plan from 10/1/18-10/10/18. I chatted online to get a prorated bill for October only to be told that there isn't one. My free plan ended exactly one year after the first activated line. Here's that part of the chat.

rep. : Please know that we follow the 1 year promotions based on the time you have started the line service and the plan
rep. : Stated on 09/30 was the general expiration date on all the plans under this 1 year promotions, Means until 09/30 only was the promotion offer

On one hand it is "1 year free" and one year would be the following year after you activated, but then there's the "savings until" clause, which I assume for many people is a few weeks after their 1 year mark. What's everyone's interpretation of when your free plan actually ends?

I'm going to call Sprint when I have the time, but if what the rep said is true, the "savings until" date display online and on the bill is not the correct end date for the free plan.

From what I have seen people posted, corporate store will sell you a sim card for cheap ($3). If you have an iPhone, get one free from an apple store. Don't know about ordering via phone.

Seems the wiki is stating we can use other devices as well and not just listed or from ATT/Verizon only but also from T-mobile. Hope I read that correctly. I'm trying to activate LG G4 Verizon unit onto this plan but I'm actually using it on T-mobile at the time. The online checker asked for IMEI and Phone number but said it's not eligible. Is that because I put in T-mobile number? or is it because LG G4 is not eligible for this deal?

I just called a corporate store and they wanted to charge me $15 if I didn't want to have it activated in store. I guess YMMV depending on store.

In the wiki, there is a small section about having specific sims with sku numbers for specific unlocked phones. Not sure if that is outdated material as the article it references is older.

I have a T-Mobile unlocked S9+ and an old Sprint sim that I got a while ago. How can I verify if it works with my phone?

I do not believe corporate stores are allowed to charge more than list price for a listed product such as the 4 in one sim pack. Make sure it is a corporate store or call a different one and ask how much the 4 in 1 sim pack is. Or just go in and buy it at list price. That pack includes sims for all phones. I am not sure of the exact price for that pack though.

In your case, they may be including a price for assistance with your phone. Do not ask for that. Just buy the product.

Also they might just be trying to discourage you on the phone. Apple stores do that too.
