Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Quote from SamKQboro :
Btw, I called TMo at 877-234-4299 and had them connect me to prepaid, which bypassed the long wait times.
I had initially signed up for this plan in January 2018 with 2-lines, but I wanted to re-sign for another free year. I was successfully able to do that with a new SSN. Even though all the steps have been mentioned multiple times in the thread as well as wiki, I am just going to write them down again..may be someone will find them helpful:

1. I bought two digital SIMs on eBay, from a single buyer. Email with 2-SIM numbers came within minutes. I had actually ordered these SIMs couple of weeks ago when eBay had a $5 off $10 promo (it is long expired now).

2. Called TMo at 877-234-4299 as per SamKQboro's suggestion, but the wait time was over 90 minutes. So, I went the online route.

3. Ported one line first to TMo using Pay as you go plan. I had to refill (pay) $3 to get the service. With tax, it was about $3.19. I created a 4-digit PIN during the process. Got an email almost immediately after payment, this email had my TMo account number. TMo account number was different than 1+phone number. Sprint number was ported to TMo in about 5-10 minutes.

4. Checked on the sprint site with IMEI and phone number (ported to TMo) and got number eligible to port.

5. Called 866-782-8777 number (in Wiki) to port the number to Sprint as a new customer. Used a different SSN, and after about 45-minutes (including hold times & talking with the rep), service was set-up, and I was approved for 5-lines. Number was ported to Sprint from TMo in about 10 minutes. Rep told me that free service is good through 1/31/2020. But, I don't see it anywhere in my online account. Is there a place where I can verify it?

6. After I hung up with the rep, I was able to make calls, but data was not working. So, I followed edog11's suggestion, basically followed these:

*******
Try some of these.
1-Reset Subscriber Settings (Carrier Reset)
Go to dial pad as though you're about to dial a phone number
Enter # # 25327 #
Tap Call
A "Reset Subscriber Settings" message will appear - tap OK
Wait 5-10 seconds; the signal notification will display "Searching" on the top left of the screen
When the phone shows a signal again, the phone is ready to use

2-Service Update (Profile & PRL Update)
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Tap the phone app
Dial # # 873283 #
Tap Call
"Starting Service Update" message will appear - tap OK
If update is successful "Service Update Complete" message will appear after about a minute - tap OK

3-Check for an old LTE APN profile and delete it.
The problem was due to a Profile named "LTE APN". (Settings>General>Profiles - Right below "VPN". There may not be "Profile" on the Menu, depending on the carrier used before.). Deleted this Profile, then LTE Data signal showed up! This Profile was probably from the previous carrier.
*****
And, I was good to go, LTE showed up and data started working.

7. Now, that one line was good, I was comfortable moving 2nd line to Sprint. So, I followed steps 3-onwards. This time, I was on phone with Sprint rep for only 30-minutes (not much hold time).

8. Phone started working, but data was stuck at 3G. I tried edog11's suggestion multiple times, but nothing was working. I was getting impatient and was about to post here seeking help, but then did a quick google search. Someone mentioned to do the plane mode thing to reset the settings. I was not much hopeful, but tried it, and lo and behold, LTE showed up immediately when I canceled the plane mode. So, finally, all set Smilie

Notes:

1. Both reps added insurance plan. I told them I don't need it, but they wont budge and both reps told that I can remove it from my account anytime. And I had read here multiple times that there is no point in wasting time with reps fighting the insurance, so I didn't press much. I removed the insurance plan after setting up my online account, and also verified with chat, and got a copy of the chat emailed to me, so now I have proof.

2. Both reps told me that there is $30 activation fee, and I told them that promo page shows activation fee is waived, and they gladly removed it.

3. Oh, and I am using iPhone 6s+ on both lines.

Hope someone finds it useful.

Thanks to everyone in this thread.

Would the 50 day rule apply on new lines, so essentially almost two months of paid service correct?

No.

You are just buying and changing Sprint-phones, NOT carriers. So the 50 day unlock requirement is irrelevant.

A real life downtown city speed test 2x.
Sprint I did, was 3mbs
Boost Mobile was 56mbs.

Wtheck is that?????????????????????????????????
I thought they used the same towers.
It's not a 1x thing, I tried at least 3x in different areas
and got the same results.
I've seen Verizon at 70mbs, this is 3, somethimes 2 mbs.

Yeah, you have to delete the profile. Iphone, go to settings network and profile and delete.
If you tell, for example it happens every single time with T-mobile/metopcs if you want the account since you are switching, they work on commission are won't give you it.
So what I do with Metropcs when they ask why, my classic line is I like math and to memorize numbers. Metropcs is a dirty company. But...
Works like a charm.
If they hide your profile setting, you must do a full network reset in settings.

Can you please clarify, you used tmobile sim to port out from Sprint only OR you used sim to port out of Sprint AND ported back to Sprint. I think another poster also mentioned the Tmobile sim was unusable(gave error on tmobile sim checker) even with port out/port in. Also did you fund with $3 or no funding as maybe that can be a factor.

So far, iv tried signing up on for this deal on their website. each time it tells me the same issue. "There has been a connection error. Please refresh or try again later" This has been going on for 3 weeks now, iv tried different brower, different computers and and different locations (both work and home) on and off wifi. Still no luck.

Has anyone else had the same problems trying to sign up for this deal?

First you need to add the $3 Pay as you go plan, and then during checkout process, you will have an option to get a new number or port your existing number.

Yes that is now correct.

You will have to apply the latest updates after receiving the phone. They can be applied using Samsung Smart Switch PC without access to a carrier.

The phone will also have to have been unlocked by the original carrier as is always the case.
as in pre unlocked or the simple call them after you fully purchase it and they unlock it then?
