Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

i just got off the phone with sprint support. they said my lines weren't available for upgrades. i thought that after approx. 60-90 days,(started around 8/1/19)( based on info in the thread or the wiki), you could upgrade your phone and stay on the free plan.

i've tried checking the thread and wiki for information on the subject but couldn't find any recent. have things changed or am i misremembering?
anyone?
tia.

I have an old Moto X Pure Edition (unlocked) that I used to use on T-mobile but have since upgraded to a new phone. I'd like to sign up for this Sprint offer for a family member using that old phone, but not port a previous phone number. Need a new number. Is that situation eligible?

Also, apologies if this question has been asked and answered. This thread is huge.

Try the IMEI on the Ting and Tello checkers. Then go back and check it on sprint.
Very weird but it worked right after I did that, thanks!

Im on my 10th month of free sprint for a year, two lines, account in under my social security number. On Black Friday I activated two new lines from Walmart on Verizon, iPhone xrs, and got the 300$ gift cards, that same night I applied for the sprint unlimited with these phones and got accepted, they were unlocked immediately after usage. I put the new sprint account under my wife's social number. So within 5 hours of activating new xrs on Verizon I'm back on sprint for free and got xrs for 460$ a piece. Hack of the century.

I'm glad I found out about a diff social number because I was gonna wait 45 days before trying to re apply.

If I wouldn't have wanted new phones I would have gotten Verizon straight talk cards and activated them on my old phones and then just re applied again with same phones

I was told I had to wait 120 days to upgrade. And the upgrade had to be done online through sprint only. They wouldn't let me do it on the phone. But it also says if you lose or break you're phone within the first 120 days you can buy a phone outright full price from sprint or bring a different unlocked device. You just have to tell them your phone is inoperable

1. Each line is $5 + taxes/admin fees. $5 is waived if enrolled in auto pay(but not the taxes/admin fees).
2. April 2019.

I believe that you can swap your phone to any other phone you own (assuming it's compatible w/ Sprint and you have the correct sim part). I've read that you can even do it yourself online. I have also read that the upgrade time is only relevant if you want to get a phone through
Sprint.

Thank you guys for all of the information.

Just finished my free year back in August. Switched to Verizon prepaid and paid about ~50 a month. Now i used my sister's SSN to switch back for another free year.

Direct from the promo page:

When can I upgrade to a new phone on this promotion?

Upgrades for the lines activated on the Free Unlimited plan will be allowed after 4 months of service. At that time, return to sprint.com and log in to your account to purchase/lease your new phone. When it arrives, visit www.sprint.com/activate to activate the new phone. Any upgrades prior to the 4 months or in a retail location will require a plan change to the Unlimited data, talk and text plan which starts at $60 per month after an AutoPay discount. Unfortunately, you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service if you upgrade early or purchase/lease your new phone in a retail location.

Does the IMEI pass the checker? You can buy a Tmo number for porting from Ebay or you can use numberbarn or google voice per the wiki.
