Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Does this no longer work for a Virgin Mobile port? I checked online and the phone IMEI checker says the phone is already activated on Sprint.

Sprint customer service said the same.

What are my options? Thanks.

Was interested in partaking in this deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/12369196-apple-giveback-up-to-100-in-extra-credit-for-iphone-trade-in?v=1

Is there anything special I need to worry about if I just buy the unlocked XR?
I have Verizon and always buy the unlocked version, even though Verizon is unlocked. From my understanding it will work fine and nothing to worry about

Looks like samsung, apple and pals may be cutting into their 2000% price mark up profits to help fund sprint? Its only for newer devices so yeah. It's hardly free

I would think you would want to talk to Retentions / Account Services and ask. They are in charge of Unlock Policies.

It wasn't an Essential was it? Can you mention the model?

As you may know there was a lot of controversy about the Essential Deal and I believe Sprint maintained it cannot be permanently unlocked yet and transferred to someone else under the contract, payoff not withstanding, because that's what the contract said. So they relock them in that case but it can be unlocked again after 50 days. In any case it is not necessary to sort this out now since you are bringing it right back to Sprint. It does not need to actually work while away from Sprint for a day.
It's indeed Essential. Always get locked back even successfully unlocked. OK. I will just port out and port in without the hassle of unlock.

Just a quick note, your tmobile account number will be your number with the 1 in front of it, so if your phone is 555-666-7777 then your tmobile account number is 15556667777. I freaked out because I forgot to ask for my account number from tmobile after i ported over but ended finding out finding this out.
That was mentioned in UltraSoul post but I modified it as it was different number for me. That's why ensuring that an email address is assigned is very helpful as the number given by rep had a typo in it and the email had the correct account number

Thanks everyone for the info to get this done. I paid off my 7 Plus on Verizon a few months ago and switched this afternoon. I figured this was a great way to save some money until good deals come up for the Xs Max.

Just thought I'd share I signed up for another year under my social this time I bought the unlocked Moto G 6 from Best Buy went smooth took 45 minutes was asked identification questions the first set apparently weren't answered in time so they had to ask me another new set of questions so if one of the sets of questions sounds weird or you can't answer it correctly just tell them to wait to submit it and get a new set. The one question that I couldn't answer for sure was they asked what city I had lived in but then one of the answers was a county that I had lived in so how do you answer that yes I've lived in that county but it's not a city. Also he said that my phone didn't qualify for their insurance so it wasn't even forced on me so that was cool. He went ahead and set up Auto bill-pay as well and everything was correct on my account showed $0 charge today and reoccurring charge of $5. Activation fee wasn't on there he said it was waived. Called at 1045 am. I got the sim kit from Sprint corporate store they charge me 2.99 for the 4 in 1

Just a heads up they have removed the hotspot feature of this. It was working for me for the first 2 months then they just removed it and there is no way to get it back on (unless I joined another Free Service with BYOD plan)

Do not ask those reps. Call the credit department directly at the number I gave you and explain the situation. As I said, there are paths around this right now. I know the ways but it is best if I do not set them out because when I do then people call up and ask for those specific paths without explaining their situation in detail, which jinxes it. It is better to ask for their help and let them come up with the ways. Believe me, they exist. Ask them to consult with a Supervisor. Sprint is not necessarily as rigid as they appear.

If that does not work out, further escalation is next....
Nope, called the number, pressed 3, and rep told me nothing he can do if i failed the application. SAeems like theres incorrect info on my credit, do you know if theres a number to call for this? Never had a problem with my credit or dealt with it before. This has been a huge pia, think it'll just stick with red pocket for another year.

Anyone able to get past the check eligibility page?
they say you're fine as long as you have really good credit score and are from one of the major services like a att or Verizon. Also your phone has to be unlocked beforehand.

Well that rep is wrong - a distinction has sometimes been made between failing the credit application and failing the identity quiz, but I think you have on decided on RedPocket for now anyway, which is also a great deal.

You would need to get your credit reports and do corrections. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action is one site and there are others. Worth doing in my opinion in any case for future applications elsewhere. I have been turned down by the USPS for failing their identity quiz but have squeaked by Sprint's.
