Does your pixel 3 already have a built in sim?
Not sure I understood your question. It was a new line so it came with sim inside the phone. I have verified that the phone isn't carrier locked

This question is repeated a gazillion times - multiple times a day now sometimes.
That is a canned automated email and Sprint forgot to update the date in it when the offer was extended twice.

The date is 1/31/2020 and you can verify it at DashBroard / Manage Plan / See Details or in the App.
Yeah, unfortunately we do not get to that point that we could see that. There is an activation snafu in our account. We cannot finish account setup since our number is not active (needs a text message code). We cannot have the hotline activate the phone since we cannot get into our account.
The SIM actually shows as active. The device wants to activate - then throws "sim failure" and "sim card locked" after a while.
The number is ported from the previous provider and therefore dysfunctional.
During the account setup something must have gone wrong - when they check they even have a different IMEI on file and the security code/questions do not match either - even though we are repeating precisely to them what we got sent via email.

Been on the phone for 4 hours now - but it seems nobody can help.

Guys, I am switching my phone from Iphone 6 to Iphone XR and when I tried to change my device Sprint representative says I need to order new Sprint SIM card which will be compatible with Iphone XR, they said it will cost $25 to $30 if I go to store.
What is cheapest option available to get new sim card which will be compatible with iphone XR?

Had byod for all of 2018 and I just followed the wiki for 2019 with the T-Mobile switch and it worked perfectly. The hardest part was the hold time for T-Mobiles porting.

I am very sorry to hear that.

By this hour their regular port support staff is long ago gone home and the same is true of other carriers. I am sure you will do better in the morning when they are back in, It really does not pay to do ports outside prime business hours (some even avoid Fridays) but this is not widely enough known.

I would just treat it as a delay though. It will be readily dealt with tomorrow.

Actually it is not the number porting but the device activation.
For some reason - that nobody can explain, the sprint account had a different IMEI/MEID - that was not my device's IMEI/MEID. Hence the activation never worked.
I finally was able to get someone on the phone who could correct it in the account - after I found an account pin that worked (that Sprint displayed when signing up).
Tired now.

Oh that's good that you made progress at least!.

(Just for others' benefit, the Wiki recommends against signing up online because there are too many occasional problems like this. Also many of us avoid online signups so we cannot help with them as much).

and within which Jay will readily find where to pick up the required sim (ending in either 416TQ or 516TQ - either is fine for his phone) locally for free (or $3.99)

Now, we just did it for one line, but our confirmation said the following:
"Congratulations!
You're saving more than $900 in the first year on a single line over Verizon's unlimited rates, and you get
FREE Unlimited data, talk and text until 9/30/19
Upgrade your phone any time after 4 months"

Why suddenly 9/30/19 and not 1/30/20?
