Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

If I port a couple numbers over with qualified phones, could I switch the SIM cards into unlocked iPhone XS (not on the list of qualified phones) after the service is active?
No. Sprint registers phones on the network with IMEI number but you could swap in that iphone XS with the proper sim card on an existing line, Details in wiki.

Well.. just ported out before my BYOD plan expires on the MintMobile 5gb 3mo/$20 deal. Back here in 45 days! Has anyone had any luck coming back before the 45 day mark?

I've only read of maybe 2 or 3 but still highly unlikely.

I believe Verizon does not lock phones, but you will be obligated to pay off the device upon porting out your number, that would otherwise be paid off monthly over several years. So $$$ up front.
Thank you so much! Does not look like I will switching anytime soon.

Opps I see that you said bandwidth.com
FP usually uses bandwidth.com but in a few areas it is another company.
You should say FreedomPop not bandwidth.com.
FP is the one that has to approve your account number and pin.

wow. i just tried registering for this and they asked me public record questions after i told them my social security number. i got some bs question that asked who i've known and apparently i got it wrong, so i was told by the rep that i needed to wait 60 days to try again. guess this won't be happening after all. did everyone else go through this too?.
It's not uncommon.
Call the Credit Dept at 800-639-6116 and ask them to check with a manager if you can take the test again or prove ID at a store. Please let us know what happens..

I checked my IMEI with a freedompop phone number, and it says Eligible, so I continued to order sim card.

The first time I could saw the total amount, and entered my address, SSN and birth date, but I got an error to go to next step.

Then I tried again, but after click "continue" on the "Buy a SIM to get started" page, I got error:
We are unable to process your request at this time.

What caused this issue? is this due to the freedompop number is not associated with this phone?

The freedompop number is associated with another phone (Nexus 5).
The phone is Moto G6, already asked Google to remove it from their database and changed PLBL to SPCS.
No the number is fine because FP numbers are never Sprint numbers. You are much better advised to CALL to sign up instead of try to fight with the automated system. See the Wiki for discussions and the number to call. Get a sim locally first, that is correct for the phone you want to use. There is no problem.

Thank you, just called and ordered the SIM card. They waived the shipping too.

Not sure if this is completely relevant here because it seems different from the upgrading that's covered in the wiki, but would be ever grateful if anyone can help.

I signed up for the free unlimited plan a couple of months ago, everything fine and was told at the time I could add more lines if I wanted to. Well now I'd like to, keeping an existing number, and also need a new phone for that number.

Just got a mailer from Sprint with an offer ending 12/2 for a Samsung Galaxy S9 for $5/month on a 18-month lease for a new line of service. I've never been on a contract for phone service before, nor leased a phone, so I'm really wary of messing up the free plan or getting baited into something. Has anyone used this offer, or know if/how this would work for adding a line and phone with the unlimited plan? Does "new line of service" mean a completely new number, or would porting work?

New line of service with porting # will work. If you have active free line(s), you will need to add a line with unlimited basic $60 or 2 gb $40 plan to get Samsung S9 for $5 with 18 months lease. You can upgrade device on your free lines but you will have to pay different price, not $5/ month. I know LGV40 upgrade price is $25, new line price is $20 with 18 months lease.

And yes, you can add more free lines (ending date will follow your original free line(s). Samsung S9 for $5 is only for new line(s) with paid plan. You can have free and paid lines in one account.

Got this one in a day, and activated on my old Moto X pure.
Tip: Opt for Walgreens free pick-up and avoid the shipping cost. So $3 for a year of service.

I've successfully ported back into BYOD 1Y (using my SSN this time).
1. Bought tmo sim in store and rep told me sim had to be activated in store and I could port my # later if I wanted. I was a bit hesitant, but in a hurry so I agreed. $10. (I did this instead of eBay esim b/c I needed to be sure I could still have service in the event I had problems w/ Sprint ID verification.
2. Went to Sprint Corp store and said I needed to be ID verified and have my credit checked so that I can sign up for a plan over the phone. Passed ID/cred check. Received Acct # and set pin. Rep tried to get me to sign up on a plan in store. Declined.
3. Called tmo to port out Sprint # on previous BYOD 1YF.
4. Called 8777 to port into BYOD 1YF.(same phone/sim). For some reason rep was unable to set up auto pay for me so I did it myself afterwards.
5. Swapped eligible phone and sim via Sprint chat to another phone I wanted to use.

Sprint rep didn't mention anything about the activation fee. I'm not sure if it will be charged and credited or if it was waived.

All in all, I'm glad I got the opportunity to have another go at this deal.

Wow so the idea of going to a store first before anything else worked!

Fantastic news for others concerned about getting approved who feel more comfortable doing it this
way.

I take it they asked you identity test questions but you passed?

Do I need to call the credit department before I try to prove my ID at a store? I have a nearby corporate store and I was thinking of just showing up and trying to resolve it.
