Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Wow that's great to hear! So there were quite a few wrinkles there to say the least.

Actually it's conceivable that a corporate store might be able to help you activate on the Free plan (some people have in fact been helped there to do so), but it has just proved highly risky. The stores do not offer this plan to customers who walk in the door and are not trained on it and get no commission for working on it. This is a stealth marketed plan that is supposed to be "click or call only". There is no money to pay any commissions. As a result, quite a few people who let stores "help" them with the free plan.have ended up with messed up plans that have taken weeks of effort to fix up. Some people were even unable to sort out the mess and gave up and ported out.

You don't really have to read all that much. A lot of it is oriented to newbies / naive consumers.
Thanks, I might try the store and see first if any extra costs to do so.

I guess they would do the credit check right there in the store right? I'm so excited.

From the promo page:

Are international services included?
Yes, our 1 Year Free Unlimited plan includes Sprint Global Roaming, which includes data up to 2G speeds and text messaging in any of our 185+ international destinations at no charge, plus calling for just $0.20 a minute.

It does not include Sprint's Premium International Experience for calling to and roaming in Canada & Mexico.

It does not include calling from the U.S. to international locations, but you can easily add international calling to your plan.

Thanks for the tip in the wiki about using the 416TQ sim. I bought it at Bestbuy for $5. That was after after a non-corporate Sprint store insisted that I buy it for $35. I told them to get f'd and left for Best Buy.

The 416TQ sim worked in my iphone XR to swap devices. The old SIM in the 6s would not work in the XR at all. I did have to chat with Sprint to get the new sim to activate in the XR, but it only took like 5-10 minutes.

My 1 year plan is over in January. I dont have the option to use a different SSN so I will have to wait the 45 days. Reading the new terms it looks like they only accept ports from post paid carriers. Im wondering if anyone knows if I port over to straight talk for the 45 days and then renew with sprint for this plan will they still take the Straight talk port in? Or If I go to T-Mobile prepaid will they still take the port in?

I havent done this since the rules are a bit different now.

can someone please clarify on how does the upgrade work for folks who have been on this plan for more than 120 days? In the wiki it says after 120 days, we are eligible to upgrade.. but what would the phone cost be? all the phones I'm checking on the website are mandating the Flex-plan to be included on the line.. Can I still keep the same plan but get the discounted rate from sprint?

I was on the free Sprint plan for a year. Then I went to Mint Mobile. I just went back to Sprint on the free plan.

I travel to Montreal regularly for work. When there, I get a text from Sprint upon landing. I can do nothing and get 2G speeds, which work for email and the Uber app. Or I can follow the link (in the text) to a web page to sign up for the fast connection, which is $10 a week or $2 a day.

WIFI calling works great for calls back to the US. You do pay a couple of cents per minute for local (Canada) calls, but that's not an issue for my usage.
