Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

No shipping charges on Sims. That has been confirmed. I believe that when you get your Sims you can call back and they will do the porting. Best to do your porting during daytime hours and coming from cricket it should go fairly quickly. if not check Sprint porting department number in the wiki
So ordering the SIM cards over the phone is a separate step from porting and activating free Sprint service?

My 1 year free plan is going to end in couple of months.
I am planning to get another year using my wife's SSN, bought 2 digital tmobile sim from Ebay
now when I will call tmobile for digital sim activation and port sprint number, do I need to pay $3 for pay as go plan?

Just tried to activate a Boost Moto G6 Play. The chat person tells me that Boost and Sprint devices aren't eligible for the 1 year free. Is this new? The list even has the HTC One A9, "HTC One A9 (Sprint Version only)"

EDIT*** Never mind, called and they said it was fine, just need to get tech support to change the prepaid flag
Hmm they are getting more liberal again then. Lots of people were rejected for Boost devices. Or you were either lucky or persuasive or both!

Sprint devices are easy, it is Boost devices that are the usually a major problem.

Does anyone know if this is still available for new registration by January 2019?
Sprint is never going to promise ahead of time. It could end any time. But you can deduce they were thinking of it being open into at least early January from their choice of end of savings date.

trying to swap phones...have been with customer care for a couple of hours. receiving message that sim is not compatible with phone or active on another device. Have tried a couple of sims already.

switching from iphone 6 to iphone Xr..bought from apple store.

anybody have any advise?
You cannot do that at all if you are trying to reuse the old sim. You need the proper new sim for the XR. There are all sorts of new capabilities in the XR that need to be matched by the new level of sim. Just get the proper new sim from the Apple store.

I just bought an unlocked note 9, currently have no cell provider. I got the boost sim pack. Can I just pick a number from number barn and sign up for the sprint free year? Or do I have to sign up to tmobile, att, etc for a short period then switch? Wasn't sure if a number from number barn is considered a competitor?

Numberbarn is fine.

The sims for Note 9 are those ending in 506TQ or 406TQ.

edog11 has corrected me that the 506TQ is in fact in the Boost sim pack so you are fine with that kit.

By the way I am assuming when you say "unlocked Note 9" you mean "new Factory-unlocked unbranded Note 9".

If, on the other hand, you mean "other carrier branded Note 9 subsequently unlocked by other carrier" you will not be able to activate it at all for the time being.

(corrected to note that the needed sim is in fact included in the Boost sim pack, as per edog11)

So just giving an update on my kid's BYOD account. About 6 months into the free service on a iPhone 6, and the screen's cracked as any teenager's would be. My wife upgraded her phone, so I have a spare 6S Plus now.

I called in, and the initial rep was not helpful. He could not get the IMEI swap to work. I gave up with him, and tried a chat online. The Chat begins with a very intelligent process of Q&A in which you're talking to an algorithm of some kind. At some point it hit a snag and switched to an actual person. She was getting to be helpful, but then the original phone rep's supervisor gave me a call - probably to ensure it didn't show up as a CS failure.

It was clear the supervisor knew what she was doing, so I signed off the webpage chat. Supervisor was able to get the phone swap completed. A few things I had to do in order to get success:

1) You'll be asked to turn off Find My Phone.
2) They'll send you a one-time text with a validation code. That text says "Sprint will never call you for this number", although they are then asking for the number you just received. It seems on the up and up.
3) My wife's old 6S Plus was on AT&T most recently, and this is probably what confounded the first phone rep.

All in, about an hour to get everything done, on top of some research earlier in the day. Hope this helps others.

I did a mistake!

While signing up for 1 year free plan online provided a wrong number (a digit was wrong). Today while trying to port from H2O to Sprint the request was failed multiple times. Called the 8777 number and they said as it is activation issue they wouldn't be able to help and transferred my call to Activation department.

The rep was able to cancel the existing port request and add a new port request with the right number. But she wasn't able to add 1 year free plan so she submitted the request with a temporary plan and annotated my account with this information.

Port went through and looks like a report/ticket was submitted to back office for reverting my plan to BYOD 1 year free plan. I was told it might take 3 to 5 business days for this change to take effect. Just hoping that plan change goes through successfully

Should be ok. Usually is. However, to be honest, some of these where plan corrections from paid plan to free plan are made afterward have gone wrong and stayed wrong in the past, so follow it very closely and do not let it drag on.

Personally I would have refused fix and cancelled and done over, in view of the risk, but on the other hand, a lot of these have gone ok. Hopefully they have improved their process.

Thats usually the process. They will explain it all. Follow the wiki. I procured my sims locally before i called. Total call length was about 45 minutes though now some are getting quick credit approval so that time may shortened

Well, it IS still a problem. They kept me on hold for quite a while, but say they are working on getting it moved from prepaid to postpaid. Apparently they are having issues doing that. They said they would call me back when they are able to get that done (Will see). Two agents I spoke to were willing to do this, and one was not. He told me I needed to go through Boost.

Yes they are generally not doing it it any more, and never were supposed to. It was just a loophole that worked for a while.

Boost requires one year on Boost before they will release it.

But it sounds as if you may be getting close if things go the right way.

Good luck!

Slightly related - I was able to activate my Walmart purchased Boost Moto G6 Play on the free plan on 8/5/2018, but I am locked out of flex lease until 8/01/2020.
