Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thats usually the process. They will explain it all. Follow the wiki. I procured my sims locally before i called. Total call length was about 45 minutes though now some are getting quick credit approval so that time may shortened
I don't understand the credit approval thing, when I just ordered my $2.99 sim on the Sprint website, it would not let me "check out" until I put my name and ss# in and it then came back approved , then let me check out. It charged my Cc $2.99 + tax.

So, did they start an account for me? I did not agree to start my account as of yet. should it not start when I actually get the Sim and activate my new S9? Any help would be appreciated! Also, has anyone just activated this free plan online w/ the port successfully? What are the drawbacks doing it online vs. calling and wasting 1+ hours?

Also, as a side not, I went through a cashback site for activating the free plan and it's already showing the $ in my CB account. I'm kind of confused with this since I need to activate it in a week or 2?

Slightly related - I was able to activate my Walmart purchased Boost Moto G6 Play on the free plan on 8/5/2018, but I am locked out of flex lease until 8/01/2020.
have you tried to swap your Boost Moto G6 with another device and later on swap back to Moto G6? Since Sprint closed that loophole I'm wondering if we can reactivate Boost moto G6 again without any issue.

Should be ok. Usually is. However, to be honest, some of these where plan corrections from paid plan to free plan are made afterward have gone wrong and stayed wrong in the past, so follow it very closely and do not let it drag on.

Personally I would have refused fix and cancelled and done over, in view of the risk, but on the other hand, a lot of these have gone ok. Hopefully they have improved their process.
Thanks for the tip. Will keep a tab on this issue. While ordering the sim online last week my credit check et al was done so I was under the impression that If I cancelled and did it again I may not be able to avail this free offer. Hoping for a quick resolution on this.

I agree that would be a slight risk but I think it might be easier to get them to fix the eligibility issue than if the plan gets messed up.

But I think most of the cases where the latter happened and could not readily be fixed were more complicated than yours (adjusted by escalation, dealer involved etc.).

I absolutely am not worried in your case. It should be fine. I am just suggesting do not let it drag on if they are not able to fix it in the promised time frame. Better to port out and start over if that happens. You'd be able to get back on in my opinion.

If the port and line were not closed by end of billing cycle, you will be responsible for whole next bill cycle regardless of usage(no proration).
The expiration date of plans for signing up late last year were 10/31/18 and 1/31/19. It looks like your billing cycle ends on the 5th of the month. So you would have been billed the full price on 11/6/18(for service for 11/6-12/5) if you were in 10/31/18 ending promo. My guess though is your free plan didn't expire until 2/5/19 as you probably had 1/31/19 ending promo.
So your next bill (viewable in a day or 2) should only be for Sprint surcharges and taxes ~$4 if line didn't close by end of cycle or $0 if line did close on last day of cycle.
I think I signed up Dec 5th last year. So I assumed it expired that day since my billing cycle for last bill showed 11/6-12/5 and it was a 1 year plan..should have checked my plan details..From what you say, it looks like I lost 2 months of my plan and switched prematuredly..ah well..

My current plan shows end date 1/31/20..

Just so everyone is aware, yes, this is a great deal. Be aware however that Sprint's service sucks. Coverage is spotty, you'll get drop calls all the time, LTE speeds are mediocare at best and Sprint doesn't support VoLTE. the lack of VoLTE means that once you're on a call you won't be able to surf the internet. Sprint's customer service is also terrible. I switched to Sprint from T-Mobile but after 3 months of use I had it and switched back.
My experience with Sprint is very good. I ordered the sim on Tuesday night and got a mail that my sim delivery is on hold and had to call the number provided.
I called them and they mentioned that my payment did not go through and requested for repayment for the sim. They tried again on call but did not process, then the CSR sent me the sim for free with overnight shipping.
I then processed the activation online once sim is received and now on sprint.
My area has a good LTE coverage for sprint and it shows 25 Mbps in 98005 zip code.

can someone please clarify on how does the upgrade work for folks who have been on this plan for more than 120 days? In the wiki it says after 120 days, we are eligible to upgrade.. but what would the phone cost be? all the phones I'm checking on the website are mandating the Flex-plan to be included on the line.. Can I still keep the same plan but get the discounted rate from sprint?
You can 'upgrade" after 120 days, but not (for recent subscribers) to the many offers that use the Flex plan.

According to posts here and elsewhere, the ability to upgrade to offers using the Flex plan was removed when the terms were changed for this offer in the mid July 2018 changes that apply to new subscribers after that date.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...reduction/

(More formally, the first date of eligibility for upgrades to flex-plan offers is the end-of-savings date at which the free plan stops being free and becomes a paid plan, as posted here by another poster).

I was thinking of swapping out my Moto G4 for another device. Can I get Sprint device at Best Buy with one time payment for this plan? Or I need to bring eligible unlock device or Sprint device myself or buy it directly from Sprint?

The latest eligible phone link is located in the wiki. G4 is fine. Any phone that you own outright and passes the IMEI check ( link also in wiki) will be good to go for swapping in to an existing line. That should free the G4 immediately for adding a second line.(requirements are in the wiki.)

So basically, all answers are in the wiki.

I doubt there's any cashback offer that applies to this plan, maybe you signed up for something else.

I procured my sim locally and followed the recommended advice in the wiki. The phone call did take a while but they were very precise in recording all numbers thrown at them and were very appreciative of choosing Sprint. And they even call back about a half hour after ending the call to be sure your phone(s) activated properly. Excellent CS as far as i'm concerned.

Now, you say you started this online. ( I did not know that they are not charging the shipping fee, as you say the only cost was 2.99+tax. They appear to be making this easier for folks to get on the BYOD. ) I'm sure you'll get activation instructions in an email. The activation link is also in the wiki. I assume that is when your account will begin and another email should ensue. Some users have had problems beginning this online but i suspect some were user error. All should go well for you. And some have reported that CB is working.

Please review the wiki for other questions you may have. We're always curious here in this thread to hear if your experience went smoothly and the steps involved as most users only come back to complain when things go awry.
