Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So I'm getting a bill of around $8. Does that seem high or in line with what you guys are paying??

Also got charged $30 for activation, regret not paying attention and seeing it's waived calling in.

You can 'upgrade" after 120 days, but not (for recent subscribers) to the many offers that use the Flex plan.

According to posts here and elsewhere, the ability to upgrade to offers using the Flex plan was removed when the terms were changed for this offer in the mid July 2018 changes that apply to new subscribers after that date.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...reduction/ [reddit.com]

(More formally, the first date of eligibility for upgrades to flex-plan offers is the end-of-savings date at which the free plan stops being free and becomes a paid plan, as posted here by another poster).
How can this be accurate? On my Boost Mobile G6 Play (from Walmart), My Sprint shows end of savings as 9/30/19 and flex lease eligibility of 8/01/20.

Put IMEI from AT&T Galaxy S9 into Sprint checker and it came up eligible. Surprising because I thought only S9 Special Edition would be compatible.

Does anyone else have S9 working with Sprint?

I procured my sim locally and followed the recommended advice in the wiki. The phone call did take a while but they were very precise in recording all numbers thrown at them and were very appreciative of choosing Sprint. And they even call back about a half hour after ending the call to be sure your phone(s) activated properly. Excellent CS as far as i'm concerned.

Now, you say you started this online. ( I did not know that they are not charging the shipping fee, as you say the only cost was 2.99+tax. They appear to be making this easier for folks to get on the BYOD. ) I'm sure you'll get activation instructions in an email. The activation link is also in the wiki. I assume that is when your account will begin and another email should ensue. Some users have had problems beginning this online but i suspect some were user error. All should go well for you. And some have reported that CB is working.

Please review the wiki for other questions you may have. We're always curious here in this thread to hear if your experience went smoothly and the steps involved as most users only come back to complain when things go awry.
I believe the free shipping for all items is part of Sprint holiday shopping promos. It started early of thanksgiving week. I personally think it will end Christmas week.

Piles of people have it working. Samsung added brand switching a few weeks ago and Sprint enabled it too. All carriers models included. See the link at the start of the Wiki for the current list under "Is my phone supported?" It is listed as eligible there.

Well there is an error there somewhere I agree but it is sort of academic is it not as both dates are far into the future. The net result is that you are ineligible is it not?

But by all means call the number ending in 8777 and ask as they do the upgrades so they should be able to tell you.

Check zip code chart in the wiki. Doesn't hurt to open a chat and ask if they will waive the $30. Say you thought it would not be charged for a new customer.

The $30 is credited back in 2 billing cycles. It says that on the Sprint page.

$8 is normal for 2 lines or in a very few high tax areas even for one line..

The latest eligible phone link is located in the wiki. G4 is fine. Any phone that you own outright and passes the IMEI check ( link also in wiki) will be good to go for swapping in to an existing line. That should free the G4 immediately for adding a second line.(requirements are in the wiki.)

So basically, all answers are in the wiki.
Thanks.

I called Motorola directly to see if they would price match Moto Z2 force at $120 with Sprint/BestBuy. They didn't.

I signed up for 2 lines when I signed up for the plan last week. They waived the activation fee on the spot. The guy didn't even throw the insurance crap ( i told him my phones are too old for insurance). Just got my first bill notification. $8 total...just like it was back in July during the first year of BYOD plan.

Thank you all.

I was thinking of swapping out my Moto G4 for another device. Can I get Sprint device at Best Buy with one time payment for this plan? Or I need to bring eligible unlock device or Sprint device myself or buy it directly from Sprint?
You can swap in any Sprint phone (locked or unlocked) that you buy yourself

You can't upgrade to a new phone on free plan from any 3rd party retailer or local Sprint store -- you can only upgrade from Sprint website or by calling telesales when you're eligible (120 days)

If you want a phone from BB then you can do the "activate later" option (pay higher price) or you would have to add a new paid line to your free account (cancel new line by porting out, pay off phone balance so you own the phone, device swap new phone on existing free line) -- this will only work if BB gives upfront phone discount (doesn't work if its monthly bill credits from Sprint)

Most people are under $5/mo per line -- $8 could be fine if your city has high taxes/fees

Post a breakdown of your $8 bill

Website will show 2yr upgrade eligibility for the first 120 days then it should change to "eligible now for upgrade" -- might have system delay for a few days so around 120-125 days

S9 got brand switching with the latest phone update -- it'll work as long as your phone is updated and ATT has unlocked your phone

Turn off phone and insert Sprint SIM, phone will convert to Sprint branding on startup, it'll show Sprint logo and install Sprint apps automatically (ATT apps and logo will be gone)

I don't see a sprint variant of this phone so i'm guessing no. You would be much happier finding a used LG G6 and you'll likely pay less.

I am on this unlimited plan until Nov2019. I have 3 devices on my account. Bought an NEW Iphone XS MAX unlocked from ebay. The issue I am having with this Iphone XS MAX 256GB phone is, let me tell you all the trouble i went through:
When i received this new iphone, i took the IMEI number to make sure its compatible with sprint even before opening the package. Once confirmed I called sprint customer care to see if i can swap my sim from iphone 6 to this new iphone XS max, they suggested to go to store and have a new sim installed. Next day I went to the store, they put a new sim and activated this new iphone XS max but the service isn't working (Cant make calls/text/data, but everything looks on their end and my account is in good standing). They suggested me to go to corporate sprint store and had no luck there, this time I was suggested to go to Apple Store because they mentioned it might be device issue. When I went to Apple Store, they had no clue why the service was not working and replaced it with a new iphone XS max because it still have warranty of 1 year with Apple. Even in the replaced phone they had no luck activating the service. At that point Apple concluded it was not device issue because service won't work on both the phones. I left the store with this replacement phone, went to sprint corporate store again and told them that the issue is with the Carrier itself. This time the sprint corporate store opened a ticket and its been 10 days and no luck at all. In the mean time they reactivated my iphone 6 back so that I can have the service going on it until they resolve the issue with IPHONE XS MAX.

If you are wondering if there is issue with my sprint account: my account is all upto date (no pending bills, never suspended for any reason, zero issues in short). Funny thing is "DATA" works 65% of the time but the Message and Talk wont work at all. Reached Sprint Level2 team (they opened a ticket), Sprint Corporate store opened a ticket. Nothing helps at this point of time.

I did put my friends ATT sim to make sure if this replaced phone works with other carriers and it just works fine.

Any suggestions to help me is greatly appreciated. Also posting this info to just make the group aware incase if some one is trying to buy unlocked IPHONE XS MAX.

Did you use the right simcard? It needs different sim card that the one you have on your iphone 6s.
