Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

As Mobile Hotspot is not for free, I am looking to add as a paid service.
I am kind of disappointed previously with wrong information provided by Sprint customer service agent.

I know this isn't the most ethical question but I was wondering if there was any way to potentially trick the Sprint network into thinking that video traffic is traffic of something else? Possibly via some sort of VPN or something?

Yeah a number of people have tried to pay for it and that has not been allowed either.

People have tried. You cannot do that yet because Samsung has not yet released "brand switching" for Note 9. It should be a few more months. Until then your other-branded Note 9 will not pass the IMEI tester. S9 is ok now though. We have discussed this a lot. Samsung does not release brand switching / BYOD until the better part of a year (not a full year though) after a phone model is released.

Of course Sprint updates its checkers to accept all other brand IMEI's immediately once this occurs (based on Samsung's update).
Thank you, probably I will have to wait ...

I took the service in July. So its been over 120 days since i took the free plan. When i log into my account, i see the option to upgrade the phone and various iphone models are listed under flex lease options. If i select and lease one of those, will i lose the free plan? Anybody done this successfully without changing free plan?

VPN is limited too unfortunately in the same way.

Another option for port-out/port-in or creating a new number to port to Sprint is the Net10 7 day service: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Net10-Wi...2677862820

This option will not work if you are in a hurry, since it is a physical sim card that will be shipped by mail. I purchased one when it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but did not end up using it until last week.

I created a new number and ported into a pre-July account because I needed an extra hotspot this week. The Net10 process was entirely online. The account number is the IMEI and the PIN is the one you set up when creating the account.

After we no longer need the hotspot, I may try to port this number to MetroPCS if I can find a store with the iPhone 6s in stock.

Ok thanks it's only $2.49 on eBay now
Guesswho is referring to the $3 plan that you have to put the T-mobile number on in addition to the cost of the virtual SIM. All recent reports are that you cannot port into T-mobile without funding.

Thanks.

It says "CDMA phone". CDMA is Sprint or Verizon.

If they gave you a Sprint number that might create a problem porting from it for this offer.

But I assume there was no problem?

Maybe they give you a Verizon number?

What might work is using PDANet+ , tethering, and turning on "Hide Tether Usage".
Respectfully, why would that work? "Hide Tether Usage" just masks your packets to appear to be coming FROM your mobile device. The app has no say over the packet destination, ie the TO part of the equation.

pda net has been used to hide tethering usage from mobile carriers for years.
i tried it a few months back. seem to work ok. i dont like that u have to be connected with wire to phone for device u are trying to get on the net using phone mobile data. would have been nice if u can do it wireless (say with a tablet connected to phone..wireless..like a wi fi device).

full disclosure...i have done much research on it, yet but will have to.
i know comintel is expert on this topic , so i will believe his answers

recently i lost the hot spot feature of my plan since i ported to metro pcs.

i rejoined S yesterday for another year +...but sadly lost spot

You could easily be right.

I will assume you are and delete that thought. Maybe you have a suggestion.

Oh he may be right on that re video/tethering.

But as to PDA Net, you can do that easily wirelessly now, tablet to phone to Sprint. provided both the phone and the tablet are Android. It supports "Wifi Direct"

Just install PDANet on both and start it on both. Then press the WPS button on the phone and "Connect to PDANet hotspot" on the tablet. No cable required. No password required. I do it all the time.

Can anyone please suggest network settings for Pixel 3. I am able to make calls and receive text but data is next to 0 even though the signal shows LTE. I was asked to activate SIM with Type C, after checking Ting and sprint forum here i saw Pixel 3 is compatible to Type D. Switched it to Type D but same issue, no data. I was on call with customer service for more than 2 hrs with no resolution.
