Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You could download LTE Discovery to check your signal strength and bands connected to. Just wondering if its location

Most of us say, avoid signing up online.

Get the sim locally. Then phone in to sign up.

That's what the Wiki recommends.

So we do not have these problems and most of us are not very familiar with them.
Whats the difference?
Everything went well online and I got SIM. Its actually way faster
If you do it by phone you will have to say your SSN and other personal info by phone to a random rep, which I don't think is a good idea. But everybody chooses for themselfSmilie
Still don't have account btw

Sure there's no one answer for anything ever. A zillion people sign up online fine.

But quite a few people seem to have had a problem that when they get the sim delivery, they have problems activating and have trouble getting help by phone. I think the mailer may have a wrong number on it. And then often the rep cannot locate their order and they have to sign up all over again this time by phone with another credit card pull..

I still do not know whether that is user error or exactly what.

Also they have to pay $30 activation fee up-front which is supposed to be refunded later. A lot of people would not like that.

But what I said is true - most of us contributing actively recommend calling to sign up. Some others do say online is better. One good thing about online signup is you do not get the upsell re the insurance plan, "free" tablet etc.

But sure, you get to "pick your poison." I can see online could be better for some preferences.

A lot of "newbies," though, may prefer the "personal touch" of calling I think.

"Still don't have account btw "

Hmm so signing up online went really well for you other than that it did not work? I'm just kidding.......

just tried calling to sprint again. another half an hour on the phone, reps just switched me from one to another. the best they can do is to 'take sim out, and put it back' and 'turn phone off and on' lol.
Awesome service sprint!

I haven't seen an activation fee when I was signing online. There was a paper with 'account/PO number' but when I try to create account with this # - it gives weird message (forgot exactly what). There's quite a lot of info on that paper.
I am not sure this is the existing account # or who knows what. One rep said there's temporary account #.
Total mess.
I have no idea if I have an account already or not. Reps cannot find me in their system.
The order went well means there was no error, I received several confirmation emails and SIM itself.
But phone says 'Invalid SIM' (its brand new, unlocked).
I can call *2 from it, but nowhere else.

What is the problem and all the details? Sorry if you posted them before - I did not see them on a quick search.

Well that's exactly why we say not to activate online - orders get mixed up! You have the exact problem I mentioned!

What phone is it. Where did you buy it. How do you know it is unlocked?

What sim is it.

Then people here can help.

I have to go now though.......

I tried the network cell app and it shows weak signal but it does show an LTE signal. Not sure how much bandwidth reading is considered to be too weak for data (not even able to open a web page). On the other hand, i saw the Sprint Airwave & Magic cell both are available for the area confirms that there should be some decent service. Also from the network cell app i could see the towers not too far off (may be less than a mile away)

No sprint store in my town. Will try that if I will be going somewhere
I think only corporate store can help, and that one is very far away
Thanks for advise!

Moto G6 directly from motorolla. I don't know how to check 100% if its unlocked.
When ordering online, it asks for phone IMEI. If it were locked online system would probably gave an error.
The SIM is correct (416q)
When I dial *2 and enter account # from the paper that came with order - automated system doesn't give an error. But when I enter phone # that I entered during online order - it cannot find it.
When I call some phone # it says 'your phone not activated'. When I try to activate by dialing *2 - it reports error.
My guess its just not activated. I tried activating it online in 2 ways - cannot pass activation page.
I have another sprint 416q SIM for this phone from ebay. Haven't tried it yet
Does the plan tied to particular SIM?

tried active Freedompop GSM SIM with same phone - data works. It also finds sprint network (can see it in setting) and can call *2 with sprint sim. I guess there's no doubt its unlocked.

I agree.

I agree it is just not activated.

The sim ICCID is recorded for the line and has to match. You could change it online but there is no point in my opinion until you get the phone activated. Nothing is going to work until that happens.

I think I would just call Sales at the number ending in 8777 and ask them to verify the account is set up properly. Nothing is going to work until that is complete. Ask them to escalate if necessary.
