Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I called to set up the free plan. However, I did not have a SIM card so I ordered one from them. When it ships to me, should I activate the SIM online or call back that number to have them activate it for me? Which is the best possible course? The Wiki says for those who ordered the SIM online and signed up online to activate online but just want to make sure about phone orders.

sorry i do not know the answer.
i would say there are so many ways to get the appropriate sim card for cheap or free, that i would not involve Sprint in getting that sim card.

but that is too late now.

i would suggest as hodaddy said....once u get the sim, call the number , tell them u now have a sim and see what happens then...i am not sure if they now consider u as a customer when u got the sim,..maybe u will have to go online to activate..sorry i just not sure.

to summarize my thoughts:
best to get sim for your phone from somewhere other than Sprint
once u have the sim, the phone, the port in details,
call the number in wiki to set up plan.
i would not do this online

hopefully others can chime in'

Thanks. Will update the Wiki.

Followed Wiki and went to closest apple store to get a free SIM and apparently, S9 SIM isn't compatible with any Iphone models or the store employee was giving me the bs. I was going to order online but thought would post in the forum.
Walked into Corporate Sprint Store and they gave a S9 SIM card for free after verifying my account. Initiated chat online and was able to swap phones. Applause

Can you switch to spring and switch back to verizon the next day to qualify for the BOGO promotion? Are there any fees you would pay with sprint for being w them for 1 day?

New customers only. Read the wiki. Cancel anytime. Besides, you really want to be tied to verizon for 24 months?

it is ALWAYS better to call the number in the wiki for signing up. It doesn't matter how you got the sim.

Here is what causes 99% of problems..

1. people try to use a phone that won't work.

2. people don't know what info is in their credit report.

3. people don't know how to port out their number from whatever carrier currently has it.

Cover those issues and you most likely home free.

Well you already have unlimited data and unlimited video streaming data use in this plan.

It is all subject to de-prioritization over 50 GB but only if the network is congested.

There is no limit on video streaming data usage but on the new version of the plan it is supposed to be limited to 480p. Many people say any such limit does not appear to be in effect for them or they do not notice it.

I believe VPN is lumped in with hotspot data in Sprint plan limits. When this plan used to have hotspot, it used to say the hotspot limit also applied to VPN use. Now that it no longer has hotspot for newer subscribers, it may block VPN too or possibly it just slows it down. Some people cannot get certain forms of VPN to work at all and others find it slow. You can try it. Sprint uses different equipment vendors in different areas and that may be a factor.

Sprint's general network policy says: "Sprint plans may also limit the amount of data available for specialized applications such as use of your device as a Wi-Fi hotspot, to engage in peer to peer file sharing, VPN, and device tethering."

In any case VPN would normally degrade video streaming anyway unless it had world-class peering etc.

Maybe, maybe not. Could be a sprint phone that was previously on a sprint MVNO. Read the wiki.
