Thanks for the help. I'm using an iPhone 7 and the IMEI checker says it should work. I'm not using that iPhone on unreal. Should i activate that phone first on unreal?
I'm calling the porting center for sprint 888-211-4727

Do I still need to go to TMobile first? I didn't get that from the wiki.
First off. If you read the wiki you would know that you are calling the wrong number. (assuming you are a new sprint customer looking to get the free BYOD)

Do you want to use the phone number from unreal? If the number isnt important, then you can get a t mobile number for porting from ebay.

Use the sprint checker in the front page post using the IP7 IMEI and the number from unreal. What does it say now?

Read all of the wiki and it's FAQ's. It will eventually make sense.

Unfortunately you'll be waiting a while longer. It depends on Samsung releasing BYOD brand switching and they usually do that well over 6 months after release of any given phone.

Until then, you cannot move a branded Note 9 from any carrier to any other carrier.

It is absolutely ridiculous, I agree, but it is beyond Sprint's control. They enable the other carrier IMEI's the moment Samsung releases the BYOD update (actually a little ahead of time). If they enabled them earlier, the phones would not work - this has been proved by people trying to use S9's prior to applying the Samsung S9 BYOD ROM update.

It is anticompetitive collusion by the carriers and Samsung.

We miss you from earlier times! But we learned some technical things from you and are passing them along still. In fact I think there are not too many surprises coming up anymore, relative to those earlier times!

Hey guys, I purchased an unlocked Moto 6. I currently don't have any service activated on it. I bought a straight talk sim kit last night.

Could I activate Straight Talk and then switch to the BYOD plan? I'm fed up with paying over a $100 a month on ATT.

Did you end up porting from Xfinity? Did the 0000 work as a PIN?
No, I am not due for porting yet. I just wanted the info on the account PIN. I chatted with a Xfinity rep and he mentioned that the PIN is 0000. So, looks like the Xfinity PIN is going to be the same for everyone.

He ported to T-Mobile from Sprint using digital sim. Now he is trying to call Sprint from phone but this is impossible because you need a physical T-Mobile SIM card to make calls from the T-Mobile number. He will need a phone with service, use a voip service like hangouts, or use a landline to call and sign back up with Sprint.
This should be clearly noted in Wiki, hey don't port every number to the crappy digital tmobile sim unless you have another phone to call sprint with

Sure, I don't see why not. Give the wiki post a run through and you'll be ready for anything that's obvious.

Sure, it should. Brush up on the wiki post info and give it try. Let's hope this promo is still around then!

I run into a porting issue and I hope the experts here may have advice on what remedy I may try.

I ported a line (with an iPhone 6) to this deal yesterday. Everything went fine on the phone with the customer service. However, after the activation, the iPhone 6 hasn't been able to stay connected with the Sprint network. It's usually 'No service', but occasionally it would show Sprint with no or just one signal bar, and then go back to 'No service' in a couple of seconds. I have tried the following numerous times on my end to correct the situation:
1. Dial ##clear# and ##update#,
2. Re-seat the SIM.
3. Reboot the phone.

Nothing helped. I tried to contact Sprint support and they weren't helpful.

BTW, I know the port is successful because when there's Wifi, I could use the iPhone 6 to do Wifi calls.. Plus, the account where the line was ported out of shows it as 'deactivated'.

Am I missing any other procedures that may help? Thanks!

I'm signing up for this, currently have Verizon and a Google voice # tied to that Verizon #.

If I port my Verizon #, will my google voice # be ok and unaffected?
