Really tempted to sign up but two concerns:
1) Is a hard credit pull bad? I have good credit but want to keep it that way
2) Currently on Metro and thinking of moving one line as I bought a LG V30s to use and would be eligible for this but I often use more than 10gb of data so unless I get in the habit of using wifi more might be an issue.

Also what are advantages/disadvantages of porting over a regular number and using google voice (for business) over top of it instead of just porting over the GV number? Thinking if I keep the GV separate I can get the benefits of the cool features of GV and not be tied to a carrier so I can keep it always for my business no matter what phone I am on.

(1) No it isn't - it is perfectly normal of course. The people who are worried have marginal credit so the temporary decrement of a couple of points worries them. It is inconsequential if you have good credit.
(2) You mean you might get spoiled by this plan? It has no data limit. It is 50 GB before deprioritization remote possibility even arises. (People do not see even that in practice).

Google Voice will give endless problems in my opinion including rejection by Uber and banking sites, problems with call forwarding, incompatibility with VoLTE and HD Voice, increased latency, etc. etc.

However for a business line you need to make sure coverage is adequate where you live. It is not adequate on some areas. If you want the absolute ultimate you probably need Verizon or AT&T.

I'm glad I got this deal, but Sprint sure does not make it easy! I spent hours on the phone at each step including sign up, activation, and removing the insane $20 /mo insurance. Frequently I found that I was reaching the wrong department to address the issues I had, so follow the instructions carefully. Also be clear eyed that $60 /mo savings will cost a bunch of your time at the outset, and will require patience, persistence, and long hold times.

What you have to do is open an account now even with a dummy Google voice number so you have 1 foot in the door. That is if you have an available Sprint compatible phone.

I have ported 3 lines over to Sprint, for this free deal, in the past month. First, bought a used Verizon iPhone 7, as my mom had water destroy her iPhone with Metro. The process was easy; I got a SIM card from a local Sprint store, called in and they ported over her number and got it activated. The second phone I got ported was an unlocked Moto G5. This was a pain in the a-- to get the phone setup. They had an issue with the IMEI, but after talking to like 17 different people, they worked it out. I picked up my own SIM card from the Sprint store with this one as well.
Finally, I figured I could buy another used Verizon iPhone 7 (FB Marketplace) and not have to pay the $30/month I've been paying for my daughter's phone. I bought the phone, picked up another SIM card and called. I had to come back to this thread to get the correct phone number because no one else can help and I kept getting put on hold and tossed from one person to another.
For the little bit of hassle, it's worth it. I's about $4 or so per month, per phone, so $12-$13/month for three lines is nothing.

Am also on Metro and saw your post. Didn't know LGV30 could be used on Sprint. Do you have to unlock it and how?

My number ported in, but SIM doesn't show activated on unlocked S8 Plus. What can I do to get phone working? Call center got closed before anyone could resolve. Help!

And only roaming on second phone S8. Despite multiple phone updates. How to get LTE on it?

Piles of people have done so.

It is listed as officially supported in the current list linked to in the Wiki.

You have to pay a $30 activation fee only if you activate online (but it should be credited 2 billing cycles later and you can use it up over time).
Once you get a sin locally, you can call the number ending in 8777 to sign up by phone instead to avoid paying this fee (see Wiki).

No you cannot use a sim from the 8/X

Get the needed sim free ahead of time at most Apple stores or $2.99 at any Sprint corporate-owned (ONLY) store.

The sim is SIMOLW516TQ from Sprint or SIMGLW416TQ from Apple - either is fine (or the Sprint 4-in-one universal kit).

Sprint does not activate sims, it activates by phone IMEI. (The sim ICCID needs to be correct too).

If you moved sims around, that is the problem.

You need a sim ending in 416Q by the way.

The LG V30+ (128gb version) is on the list. I just purchased an unlocked one that should be arriving soon. Was planning to use it with Metro but now might use Sprint.
