Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

If we need to get a new Sprint Sim card, please post the link for cheap sprint sim cards. Thanks.
I think that is covered in the Wiki already.

$2.99 for any phone at any Sprint Corporate-owned (only) store. Including the 4-in-one kit which covers all phones.

Free at most Apple stores for iPhones.

I can confirm that some of the people you call are high pressure sales. I'm having trouble activating my phone. I called back and the person told me I need to pay for the insurance to get it activated immediately, otherwise I have to wait 24-48 hours.

You are correct and that is an outright lie they told you about waiting.

But, for expediency, just take the insurance, then use Chat to cancel 5 minutes after hanging up (or at your convenience). That's what people are doing now. It works fine.

Maybe get their name clearly when they first answer too. That may intimidate them from hanging up.

A large part of that Philippines call center has gone rogue and will say anything for a commission.

iphone XS

Switched my AT&T physical sim to eSIM.

Went to AT&T store and they did it for *free. I was charged $5 for the eSIM. They did it all in about 5 minutes. I wonder if I tried this online it would've been free. I didn't do it over the phone, because I can't talk while a Sim is switching I assume.

Called Sprint and ordered physical SIM card. Charged $3 for the SIM and shipping was waived. Will arrive in 2-3 days.

Upon sim card arrival, I will have to contact Google voice and get pin to port number. Will follow up then.
Sim card arrived in in 2-3 days. Unlocked Google Voice for $3 and created Voicemail Pin. Called sprint - they tried to charge me for insurance for $19/mo. I declined. Set up was supposed to happen in 10-15 minutes. Scheduled them to call me back in 20 minutes. They didn't call me back and I called in. The lady said I could only get help if I bought insurance for 2 days. I declined and she said I can wait 24-48 hours unless I paid. 5 minutes after that I got a call back. I was transferred to the porting team and was set up thereafter. Now I have my Sprint cellular data and AT&T for voice/text. I can switch my data back to at&t within the iPhone XS menu. I'm on a family plan, so I want to allow my family to use more data if needed.

Hope this helps!!

Total cost is $11. I'm not sure I could've received an AT&T esim and Sprint Nano sim for free at apple. Would've drop my cost to about $3 for google voice port. I'd say I spent maybe 1-2 hours tops doing everything.

I'm on the phone now, trying to use spouses info and things appear to be working.

I'll still have to call and sort out this existing account nonsense, so I appreciate your reply.
Also your wife might want to check with her relatives just in case they used her SSN.....

Did you mean you did the BYOD online instead of call in (WIKI suggest method)? I was planning to do the call in to port my ATT line out to Sprint BYOD. But i would do online if there is cashback. Did you do it on TCB to get $100 or eBxxxs? But none of those show $100 cashback....

Thanks.

This is getting better. I signed up through a cashback site and I'm also getting $100 back. It's like getting paid to use Sprint for a year Smilie :dances:

I signed up online. I used "BeF" cashback site. I posted a pic above of my current status with the CB.

I already have one BYOD free line and now planning to add a 2nd line. Any idea if I do it online how do i let Sprint know i am adding a 2nd BYOD line under same account?

I just installed the "BeF" plug-in but the "Cashback Activated button" keep disappear after I copy the BYOD promo URL. Compare to "eBxxxx" it will always show it is "Activated with confirmation #" how do you tell it is activated, May be we need to something different?

I don't know. I don't use any plug-ins. Though, if you already have one plug-in that does the same thing, there may be some kind of conflicts there. This is a big YMMV. I was expecting $25 back, but was surprised to see $100.

I am also in Lima so maybe I can help out a little bit. Maybe someone else here has another option besides the one that works for us.

You are correct about the coverage but try this.....

To get better data I had to disable LTE Band 25 on our phones. That forces it to use Band 26 which is giving us much improved data/internet. I have yet to see LTE Band 41 show as being used around here.

In some areas we drop down to 3G but that is usually plenty good enough to use, we even watch live IPTV sometimes, even when the phone shows as only on 3G. We normally get 4-6 Mb download and upload speeds around this area. Not great speed but plenty useable.

1) To disable Band 25 open the phone app and try *#*#3282#*#* or ##3282## depending on the phone.

2) Select "LTE".

3) Select "Bands".

4)Tap on the menu, which on our phones is in the upper right corner and select "Edit". When it asks for the Passcode or MSL try 000000 which is the MSL on most of our phones. If that doesn't work you may need to call or chat with Sprint to get the MSL for your phones.

5) Select "Band 25 Enabled" and select "Off"

6) Select "Done" and get out of the app and reboot the phone. It should now be using Band 26 and have plenty usable internet in most areas around the Lima area. We also had good luck when in the Ft. Jennings area of Putnam County. I don't know about Wapakoneta though since we rarely are down in Auglaize County.

Edit to add: I remember back just before Sprint got 4G here in Lima. We were watching the July 4th fireworks on top of the St. Ritas Hospital parking garage and had 4G with 8-10 Mb DL speed - but only there. The rest of the area still only could get 3G at the time.
Thanks for the detailed info, but I already went back to Straight Talk. Wish I would have tried this first. Repped.

We actually could nail them if we wanted to. Management is tolerating these illegal sales practices in a desperate bid for profit. They could be looking at huge FTC or FCC fines. Conduct like this should be prosecuted (and had been in other cases) The posts in this thread might be enough for an investigation.

You call the number ending in 8777 in the Wiki and have a number to port in, and the needed sim already in hand..

You cannot do it online - there is no place to provide all of that..

You can do it online it does work you just get dinged a 30 dollar activation fee. I did it. No problem. But you will have to pay the 30 activation fee. Apparently if you call in the fee is waved but it was worth the convience for me to do it online. Just follow tge promts for me the free year plan offer was there along with the other plans as well. I did this 2 month ago.
