I need your help guys!! I read the steps from wiki but I have below questions, may be I am missed something here..

I have couple of questions.

Q1) I have iphone 7 unlocked from ATT.. I have checked my phone IMEI & number porting using this link https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...phone=byod
it says Eligible .. but in the list it says iPhone 7(T-Mobile/ATT Models not supported) what does this mean?

Q2) where can I get the ICCID# of Your Sprint Sim card

1b: When Calling In For This Promo, Have This Information Handy:
1) Your Phone's IMEI #
2) Your Phone # You want to port
3) Your Account # and PIN # from where you want to port out to Sprint
4) The ICCID# of Your Sprint Sim card --

Can I port my number from ATT(iPhone 7) to Sprint?
As long as the online checker shows its eligible, I wouldn't worry unless you have an issue later.
Go to your phone's settings > General > About. You'll see the sim's iccid number there.

I have 4 lines on this plan with Sprint. Can I port out 1 line to Metro for a month, then port back to the same account at Sprint?
I don't see a reason why you shouldn't be able to do that.

What are the odds that sprint will extent this plan after 1/31 ? Smilie waiting to port out and come back only if sprint extends byod as I am currently on paid non BYOD sprint plan. What other carrier allows byod and has data / talk/ text etc for cheaper rates to which can port this sprint number and take current phone. Asking this if sprint's byod ends 1/31

What exactly you try to accomplish? If you port back to the same account, which is not going to extend the expiration date.

It's funny you ask this saying you have done this deal multiple times. You certainly can do this, but you get no extension of your plan. The end date of the promo will be the same. Rather than porting it back to the same account, you might as well get a new account with Sprint (using someone else's SSN) and extend your free plan by another year.

(revised in light of edog11's comments)

As edog11 has pointed out, the phone with the issue is running the unbranded model ROM firmware, even though it is a TMobile branded model. Most likely somebody flashed it.

The unbranded version does not yet support Sprint VoLTE. It will soon.

You can try Samsung Smart Switch on a PC and see if it has anything to say. It normally applies updates if needed.

If you do not want to wait for the unbranded firmware to support Sprint VoLTE, see if you can flash the ROM to the standard Sprint one. People on XDA flash S8 ROMs all the time. You could get details there on how to do it. This would actually be better because you will get all Sprint-specific features this way such as Visual Voicemail and Wifi Calling as well as VoLTE.

You cannot expect support from Sprint retail support staff because you are using a phone that has been flashed / modified (and was bought from TMobile in the first place). Well, actually you can if you and they treat it as if it is the U1 (unbranded / "unlocked") model, because that is the firmware that is running in it currently.
All four phones were never manually flashed. I don't have record but, I made sure all phones are patched and they had the same software version and service provider software before porting to Sprint. I have no proof but, somehow unbranded firmware got installed probably by Sprint when it was activated.

Again, thank you all for great info. I will look into XDA flash. If no, I don't mind waiting.

This happened to me... with pixel 2, ported to google voice and then to sprint. Now I can no longer receive texts from verizon customers, although they can receive my texts and calls. It's an open ticket with the Sprint engineering team, but has taken more than a week and no resolution.

Thoughts? What are my options here? If I just get a new device, they said I would just have the same issue.
I'm having the same issue, did you find solution for the issue?

Need a help. Could not find answer to my question on the wiki. I remember reading a comment related to my question but I could not find it now after browsing several pages. I am out of Sprint for 35 days now. I tried to sign-up for another free year today though I knew the best thing to do is sign-up after 45 days. The sales rep said my old account is cancelled so I am good to sign-up for the free 1 year plan. In the process of signing-up I was put on call with the credit department. The credit department rep said since I have not been out of Sprint for 45 days I don't require a credit check and she can re-open my old account. I asked her if I would be eligible for the 1 year free plan if she re-opens my old account and she said she is not sure. The sales rep was not sure also and told me she can check it once my old account is re-opened. But I did not want to proceed further and told them that I will call back after 45 days. Does any one know if re-opening my old account will get me the free 1 year again (that way I can avoid the credit check)?

According to the first page of this thread anything less than 45 days is a YMMV. Some people have had success others have not is what I gleaned from that information. Your best bet would be to have someone else create the account under their SSN... because if they do not allow you to get the BYOD plan for free then you're starting back at day one.

Installing a different ROM normally is a lengthy process ending in app optimization that I think you would have noticed taking place. But if it was left with a store then yes, probably they did it.

It is a mystery, but it will not really matter, because flashing is easy on these phones I believe. Or you can just wait for VoLTE in that series of ROMs. I think we will have news soon - a LOT of people on S4GRU with the unbranded / unlocked model are waiting on that - I get the impression it could be sort of any day.. Quite a few people prefer that ROM anyway - it might be interesting to keep it on one phone. I will keep an eye out for news....

Well you would not be eligible in my opinion because you would not be a new customer.

That is a stated condition of this offer. "New customers only."

I do not think it is worth taking the risk if they are not guaranteeing you will be eligible.

Now, I have had a rep tell me that he would guarantee I would get the offer again one way or another even if he reopened the account to do it. If they say that very explicitly, you could consider it.

But just "I do not know" is hardly adequate assurance.

If not, I would post on community.sprint.com as they have agents that have high-level contacts in Sprint to escalate and resolve such issues via private follow-up..
