Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Not really, I was finally able to cancel after almost a month. I asked to cancel right off the bat and they said I have to pay off the balance. My bill came two days after my activation and about $80. I dont want to pay that for just 2 days of service. So was told they need to adjust the bill before I can cancel......the stringing of waiting, holding on the phone. IF they kept their words and fixed it, I would have canceled it less than a weeks. They also threaten if I dont pay it will go to collection.....I do not want to risk all this later.
Pay with your credit card, keep all materials and dispute the charge later. Your credit card company will deal with them.

I've been through hell trying to sign up for this. After wasting 2 days I finally found out my SS# is flagged because supposedly 2 years ago someone tried to sign up for an account with my SS#. I was told I had to go to a Sprint store and prove my identity. The first time didn't work. The second time they said the fraud department was closed on Saturday. The third time the Sprint agent refused to call. The fourth time I went to a different Sprint store and the agent did everything she was supposed to do but when I tried to sign up back at home later my account was still flagged. I'm done with Sprint victimizing the victim. It's not worth the aggravation.

that won't stop a debt from going to collection. The debt is still owed after a chargeback.

The debt is still owed only if it was proper in the first place.

In this case, the poster would have a strong defense including:
- The paid plan was an order entry mistake as the free plan was requested.
- The poster reported the error promptly within the period Sprint designates to cancel an order without any liability
- All delay was at the request of Sprint to allow their unduly lengthy investigation
- The poster tried to cancel the plan and Sprint improperly refused until payment was made

If a credit agency requests payment, I would inform them that liability is denied for the above reasons and that they are required to sue if they wish to pursue the matter so that defenses and counterclaims can be adjudicated.

Actually this matter may have been settled anyway in this case but I posted the above suggestion in case not, or for anyone else with such an issue.

stevenSDer'd suggestion to "Pay with your credit card, keep all materials and dispute the charge later. Your credit card company will deal with them." is a good one, I think, when properly used where there is a real dispute...

I don't disagree with you. My only point is doing a credit card chargeback doesn't discharge a debt.

It's been a disaster porting a nice number from Freedompop to Sprint. But I finally did it today, here's the steps:
1. obtain all port out info from FP, if info is blank, ask FP@twitter for quickest responses.
2. port the FP number to numberbarn, pay the port in fee, $2? set your own pin.
3. once the number is parked to numberbarn, call the wiki number and ask for "BYOD 1 yr free promo"
4. provide IMEI, SIM card#, SSN for credit check, billing address, CC# for auto pay
5. mention numberbarn as carrier and address zip code is different from your billing zip
6. within an hour you should receive an email from numberbarn that your number is port out/transfered out
7. reboot your sprint sim phone
8. enjoy 1yr free service (you need to pay tax tho)

FP port is a PITA.
However, once u have step 1, u can directly go to Sprint.
No need to go to NB, then S.

Freedompop has two carriers, Sprint and AT&T. If you were using a Sprint based number then you could not go straight to Sprint.

If it's Freedompop's gsm service you should be able to go straight to Sprint. I did myself a few months ago.

Yes. This has been repeated numerous times in this thread not to mention that it's also in the FAQs of the promo eligibility page.

You might think that would be the case but it is not.

FreedomPop never uses Sprint numbers.

If you look up the numbers, you will find they are VOIP/landline numbers on a variety of local carriers including bandwidth.com and many others.

So FP numbers are always potentially eligible. But they are often numbers on small local landline carriers and some of these have problems porting them out. This only happens in a small minority of cases though

IMEI's will be ineligible while they are active on Sprint's network, though, but you could swap them off.

Was your FP number an original FP number or was that ported in to FP sometime back? I have the same problem, been trying to get the port working, but have not been successful as I have been asked to use FreedomPOP_IQNT as the name and their LA address as the billing address. Have tried various combinations on name and address to no avail. I haven't tried Numberbarn yet, but will try that out
