Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

My week 2 update:

Switched from cricket wireless, and have overall been pleased with coverage and speed. About 15 mb/s average speeds in my area.
Finally convinced a friend to get this deal, from cricket, now friend is amazed, calls on regular phone and whatsapp are clearer etc.

I attempted to use the deal. They ported my number over, but I never got service! After a week wasted with customer service pretending to be working on my problem, I'm switching back to Tmobile.

Sprint is worthless

Edit: I can't switch back because I don't have the 2FA for my sprint account (since I can't get texts!) so I lost my number for nothing
Hey thegreatkhan, are you my long lost father? Must be something wrong with your device dad.

Why is Moto G5S Plus in both the lists: Eligible and Expired Eligible lists?

I own a 32GB currently on with Sprint's Free plan and a 64GB (almost brand new bought two weeks back from Swappa). I did a check today on Sprint's site for that second phone, and I received confirmation that the phone is good to add for a free plan. I obviously have to use a different number to sign up for the second time.

I am planning to port my phone out to T-Mo prepaid as suggested in the wiki. I just saw on a different site that someone had trouble trying to port in from T-Mo prepaid. Has anyone successfully accomplished this recently?

Don't mind the list, as long as the Sprint byod checker says go, you are good to go.

I was wondering if anyone here has experience in swapping phones for two Sprint lines. Is it as simple as switching the phone for one line first, and then switching the second line to the other phone? Or do I need a third phone as a trampoline to get that done? Thanks.

By that do you mean like the Moto G6?
Was planning on buying a pair and using them for the Sprint free BYOD plan.
Why would you avoid them?
full disclosure:
i am extremely biased against moto phones.
i tried the sprint branded z2 force their supposedly top of line SP
i pretty much hated it.
but thats just me.
others i am sure liked it.

below is one of posts on why:
(again just 1 persons opinion, what i discussed may not bother u at all)

on paper yes the z2 seems better.
was faster than G6 no doubt.
but thats about all the cons i could see w z2 over lg g6.

(note: the lg g6 is no slouch in this regard..pretty fast and the speed difference will be irrelevant for most people)

a few things i did like about LG G6
(some are more annoyance with z2 than anything else):
note this was in sprint Lg g6 v sprint z2

biggest and by far difference:great camera in G6 (much better than z2).

native email app in G6 (not in z2)

double tap open/close
(yes i too have the $1 Nova Launcher but i find i like the G6 skin much better..and not all gestures work well in NV)

change button placement ability in G6 button placement

smart lock not working in z2 (known issue)

close all open apps quirk where u have to go to bottom of all apps to clear them
(v in G6 is right there in top)

thats all i can remember now..but safe to say..for me
overall, the G6 was just about right in every way.
the z2 complete opposite

Great, thanks G_K!

One more question if you can answer, that will be great: My first free year is about to end, as I already mentioned in my last post, I have a new phone ready and also have a Google Voice Number ready to be ported to Sprint. What is the best way to start a new free acct with Sprint in my situation, do I have to use another SSN but then how will the credit check work if that SSN is from another person? I don't completely understand that part?

Please help. I feel like I am missing something here.

Step 4 of When Calling In For This Promo, Have This Information Handy: says I need to have my sprint sim card already.

When do you get this? I thought it was ordered over the phone. Am I supposed to make a phone call in advance stating that I want to sign up for the promo and need to purchase a sim card for $2.99 and ask them to ship it to me for free? And then call them back after I have received it to actually sign up for the promo?

Thanks in advance for the help. I'm on Project Fi so I'm already expecting that to be a PITA but I'm confused on how to begin.
u can get a phone and its sim card befor u call .

best to have this now

this is byod plan so . bring it..and a sim

see wiki on how to get a sim
depending on which u need:
try
apple store
best buy
sprint corporate store

(in that order)

re read wiki sim section

Thanks desi_babu_2010. My wife is already on the Sprint Free plan but on her own separate acct. If I use, let's say my son's SSN, will they not ask for his name, info etc. if a credit check is involved and he is not even 16 yet?

Desi would be the best person to answer this kind of questions but I think he's preoccupied at this moment so let me help you.

When people do the free byod the second time around, they have to port out their phone numbers to say... T-Mobile prepaid (pay as you go), and after a successful port out they open a new account again under a different social security number, that of your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, 19 yo son, sugar momma or sugar dadda. If they can open the account themselves the better, (just be there beside them to make sure they are put on the correct plan). After they have been approved, then all you have to do is port out your numbers from say... T-mobile pay as you go back to Sprint to your newly opened account.

If you want to port out of Sprint and port in right away, you have to do these steps because you need to be a new customer. All of these are in the wiki which should be read sometimes several times for some to fully understand.

Since you have a new spare phone and a Google Voice number, I would suggest you find someone (spouse, gf, bf, sugar mom or dad) and have them open a new byod account using the designated 877 phone number on the wiki. Once all is approved and set up with this first phone, this will be a good time to port out all your numbers from the old account.... To t-mobile prepaid.... and then port back into Sprint and enjoy a fresh 12 months.

Once successfully ported out of Sprint, check your phone's imei number and phone number on the Sprint byod checker. It should show "eligible" at that point.

Thanks again, it looks like (since the only SSN's I have available are of my very young kids) my best bet is to port out my existing number to Mint (the GV number I mentioned earlier is another number which I used to have free service with one of those generic cariers) or some similar service and wait for the 45 day period (???) and then port back in to Sprint using my own SSN. Thanks for your help and time!

Yes, if you can't use another social, it has to be 45 days out of Sprint for that social to qualify again.
