Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I'm guessing that post is correct, and I need the multi-mode unlock. Only thing is that the apple supervisor was convinced that my unlock is equivalent to that (and he seemed to be open-minded when I first suggested that might be the issue). So don't see any path forward on that front.

The only other thing I can think of is Activation Lock : Active ( This phone is Blocked and can NOT be activated unless find my iPhone is turned Off)

Never seen anything like that. I guess I can call Sprint and ask them to rerun the activation with Find My iPhone off.
Yes I think you need the Multi Mode Unlock.

See https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...onnect_to/

which says Activation Policy 10 is GSM Only.

Same at https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...ooking_to/

The Apple supervisor you spoke to was correct for other U.S. carriers but not for Sprint. You will have to escalate it with Apple.

Using the online t-mobile activation page to port from sprint to t-mobile and signing up for the Pay as you go plan. Has anyone done multiple lines at one time? Just wondering if it went smoothly, and all lines just have the same account number and pin or what exactly it shows after you submit the transfer order and payment.

I just did 4 lines all separately and what a pain. Would be so much easier to just submit it as a multi line account and transfer. I was just worried about the account number and pin info for each line. I have 4 more lines I will need to do soon.

the catch is that the sprint network sucks vomit

My bill was like $4 per month.. I could live with the crappy network at that price

Thanks! I'm kind of fortunate where the service in my city is pretty good. This totally kicks Verizon's $50 plan in the butt!

Thanks, anyone know if there is any official documentation somewhere. I'd like to go into the call with some hard information outside of reddit posts so that the support person can be convinced.

There is no official documentation - it is Apple Internal only.

Why don't you post on reddit.

halcyoncmdr submitted the correction request via Sprint's Apple liaison for someone else. Most likely he or someone else may do it for you.

See eg https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...to/dwvhbx5.

A new thread would be better though since that one was archived.

I ported out 2 of the 3 lines to Metro PCS, can i port back the two lines and get 1 more year on those two lines? or should it be on someone else's account to get 1 more year?

Thanks..

If you are existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days, you will need a new SSN (friend/ family). If you are porting from a Sprint MVNO you don't need a new SSN as long as you weren't a Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

more importantly:

Note 0:
-There is no contract. If u dont like service, you can port out anytime.
-Best strategy is before u ever call sprint, have your own eligible phone, the specific sim card for that phone, a number to port in from a non sprint "family of providers"[basically a sprint competitor] {it can be pre paid, post paid, from google voice, number barn, freedom pop}. {keep reading on how to get this done}
-While the line will be free [with auto pay], the tax+fees will be ~$4 each line (depending on where u live could be higher or lower).
- Depending on your credit history, most people will be eligible for 5 lines. They can be added all at once or u can add 1 line, see if u like service, and then add the others at a later time. Each line must be ported in and can be added by calling 866-782-8777 .
-Any additional line added will have the same terms (end date) as the original 1st line. (example: u created account in july 2018. 1 Y Free promo expires in july 2019. if u add a line in dec 2018, that line too expires in July 2019). Each and every number (first , 2nd or last) has to be ported in from a non sprint (or non sprint mvno) carrier.

Note 8: porting out of sprint
if u hate the service best to cancel via porting out of sprint.
that will cancel the account.
if u go this route, u must port out every number to have account completely cancelled.
if u have more than 1 line, then porting out 1 line will not effect the others.
if u dont care about number, port out to h20 and let number die.
h20 sim are pretty inexpensive on amazon.
order now as it is good to have h20 sim on hand for future use.

But doesn't Google fi use Sprint, T-Mobile, and US cellular networks so you are on same networks as Sprint. Sprint has T-Mobile LTE roaming. So I guess you like paying more?

Maybe pm mrzz. He was able to get policy changed. I would leave find my iPhone off when talking with Apple so they can change policy.
Also you probably have model A1549 which doesn't have band 41 for sprint. Settings/general/about tap model.

I thought Sprint+T-Mobile+US cellular networks >= Sprint by itself... I'll re-run the math on that..
But I like your logic better, let's go with I like to pay more ... Conspicuous consumption ftw
