has anyone had any success porting out from mint mobile?
I have spent 3+ hours on chat with sprint and also walked into store and talked to them for an hour.
We have tried 3 SIM cards and all "activate", and the number ports over; and phone is not locked.
However, the phone (iPhone 6s) will not get service. Upper left corner actually says
sprint for a few seconds and then flips to say "no service". Phone worked fine on mint.
Nobody at sprint can figure it out. Neither online customer service or in store can solve this. Could it be something to do with porting in from prepaid carrier? I have asked sprint this same question and everyone I have talked to says this isn't the issue
but of course they cannot tell me the problem. Looks like I will be going back to mint.
Unless anybody has any suggestions.
Thanks!
Could it be any past profiles, look under the 'Mobile/LTE/Data' section of settings and see if there is an older profile that still exists. Delete and then redo the profile for Sprint

Update: I couldn't get the Moto E4 Plus to recognize the SIM on Consumer Cellular (A GSM network) after trying to port my number over from Sprint (where it didn't work also). There is a serious problem with this hardware that hasn't been fixed.

How would you proceed? I want blood from Motorola for all the hassle I've been through but I know how those things can go.

2nd Update: My Nexus 6P seems to be working fine on this Sprint promotion in terms of service but apparently now it's having problems with MTP transfers via both my desktop and laptop. According to Reddit, maybe I should have looked for a Pixel instead, for around the same price (~$100 used).
I had a similar issue with my Moto g5S Plus, it is the SIM card tray and the bay where it resides. If you bought the phone at a store, contact them; I had purchased my first G5S Plus at BestBuy who swapped it for another one (both were refurbished but pretty much brand new). Second one has been working without any issues so far for the last 5 months or so now. Good Luck!

This happened to my unlocked metroPCS iphone 6S as well and I fixed it by resetting the phone.

I have 4 days left until TMobile closes my account since I ported my main number to Verizon. Can I use this remaining TMobile line for this promo with only 4 days left till account closes?

EDIT: May have been posted but DAMN this is brutal: https://www.theverge.com/2018/9/2...ile-merger

Why would TMobile close your account if you still have a remaining line there? I must be missing something. You ported your main number from T-Mobile to Verizon but you still have another phone number/line active with T-Mobile?

I had 2 lines with Tmobile but only used one line. I ported my main line back to Verizon and cancelled the account. I thought the entire account would close immediately. I checked today with Tmobile because the second phone was still working and they said it will stop working in 4 days which is when the account fully closes. I guess I'm paid up until 4 days from now with TMobile. Haha does that all make sense?

"Then" was September 2018 so very recent. And what you posted was more about 5G and some other stories not related to their overall coverage. Which my link clearly shows what it's really like.

In theory, yes it could be done. You just need a number which you have and the account number and pin which you should already have since you just ported to Verizon. Also will need a sprint compatible phone eligible for this offer and the correct sim card for that phone.

What I don't know is if it's possible to call in and activate this free plan on the weekend or if the Monday holiday changes anything for the call center. Once you have a phone and SIM card it only takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the activation when calling the number listed in wiki

Thanks! Turns out I have a Nexus 6 unlocked that qualifies. I just check on the Sprint site. So I'm good there. I currently use an iPhone 6s Plus on Verizon. I could go this weekend to Apple store and get a Sprint SIM card and tell them I'm switching correct? They should give it to me for free from reading. I can see their call center closed this weekend maybe, but not Monday. I believe the 4 days until Tmobile account closes leaves me till Tuesday so I should be OK. Hopefully the pieces all fall in place.

Does anyone know a way to dodge the $13 sim card fee? Can I get a sim from somewhere else for less cost?

They no longer charge the $10 shipping charge.
The total cost is only $2.99 now.
You can order just the sim from https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ffiliat e and when it comes you must call in to sign up (not sign up online).

That kit covers all phones.

See the Wiki for some potential free sources for sim cards.
