Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

My one year free with sprint will end on 01/31/2019. If I port out to T-Mobile online , can I port back to sprint for another one year free package in the same day?

Will I have to wait 45 days to port back to sprint for one year free with the same SSN ?

Will same SSN will be accepted without waiting 45 days of ?
Nope, but you're free to try. Let us know.

I am trying to do this (but with a different SSN)- 2 numbers. Started the process yesterday around 1PM EST and I have 1/2 numbers ported to T-Mobile and waiting on the 2nd one. Since they are digital SIMs, the 1 ported number doesn't work for me right now. I keep bothering TMobile every few hours but they say I need to wait 24 hours.

Right and I didn't have H2O sim card and didn't want to buy one on Ebay and wait for a week for it to arrive and din't want to waste $10 on Amazon so how does your advice help?
Also in order to transfer the number to H2O one has to open an account at H2O and provide IMEI number of that phone and choose the plan and so on so it is not just port out and let it die. It will not die by itself one need to connect to H2O and request to close that account later on. In the past I was able to close accounts with all 4 legacy providers ( even Sprint) without any problems and with one relatively short call. I do not why Sprint made it so darn difficult now

couple of questions -

1. when my wife's unlocked T-Mobile Samsung S9+ was activated, sprint pushed a bunch of crappy apps (WTF ANDROID?!). Even things like the native dialer changed, reboot animation etc. Can this be prevented?
2. Anyone successfully use this on a Mobile Hotspot device? I know they ask for IMEI, will they refuse activation on a device like that? I was first planning on just activating on another device and moving the SIM over, but according to the wiki (and my testing) it won't just move over. you have to re-register the IMEI of the new device (why sprint, why).

Thanks for the responses... it shouldn't matter *how* I use the data. If I have a data only device that I want to use.

I basically use less than 2GB a month on the hotspot, for notifications that come through the connected camera. Oh well - would have been nice.

You can close a Sprint account with a short call.

Just do not expect to do it directly with technical support.

Just call and ask to speak to Retentions/Cancellations to cancel your account. Do not discuss with other regular reps in other departments until you talk to Retentions/Cancellations specifically. No other department can do it.

Then just tell them you have already made up your mind and will not consider any offers. This is not rude, it is considerate of not wasting their time.

I have done so and had no problem at all. The customer just needs to be willing to say No when the rep asks if they can mention some offers they have. If the customer wants to listen to the offers, they can, but then that's on them, isn't it?

The account will close at the end of the billing cycle.

everything in the WIKI says you need to wait 45 days with same SSN - you can try and see what they say? if your free year is up might as well port somewhere for same price that Sprint will charge you and then try again?

Your snarky comments do not add anything to the discussion. Apparently you didn't read it yourself! Wiki doesn't tell you that canceling service is painful, it just explains how to port out, which I didn't need, as it was a throw away number for me and I didn't need to keep it. So if you don't have anything to add just keep it shut.
i see the problem now.

Sprint is CDMA. The iccid (Sim card) is tied to the meid number of your phone.

You cannot freely swap sims

It took me 1.5 hours to port number out from Sprint to Tmobile (using Digital SIM) and back to Sprint (using different SSN). The Tmobile porting was less than 10 mins, sprint porting took about 30 mins.

Bought Tmbiile digital sim from ebay

Yeah, I had 1 phone that ported to TMobile right away - The othe rone seems to be hung up somewhere. I keep calling to tell them there is an issue, but they keep saying it has to wait 24 hours. Makes no sense because I am porting 2 numbers over from same account and they are both iPhone 6. I find that some of the TMobile people I talk to don't know anything. I spent an hour on phone yesterday with a lady "porting numbers" only to find out thios AM that she didn't do anything.

my thoughts on this deal (now going on for more than 1 year) is that Sprint is giving folks a way to try out the service with very little cost in the hopes that those new subscribers will hopefully realize that Sprint is really not as bad as they thought.

if u use simply as HS, you do not get to know how S really is

sure some people will try and still hate it and thats ok since each carrier will have places that they will not work in.

for example, for me and my needs S works really well...but TM doesnt not.
for someone else it is opposite.
a third person may only get service with V
etc
etc

anyways , just my 2c on the topic

as i think about it some more...

u can still take advantage of this promo .
get a andriod phone (my favorite = sprint lg g5)
install pda net and use the phone as HS

as ususal...all details in wiki
