Right, well that's more or less what I was saying - they all are only for use with paid plans only.

But you know that already.

So I guess you are saying, can you take a line off the free plan and then use it as a "new line" for a paid line promo? That I do not know. Someone else may.....it would be hard for then to disallow it, I would guess, if it was at least under a different SSN. If it is the same SSN, they could argue it was not a "new line" I guess. It may be a murky area......
Let me clarify a bit. My friend has a paid Sprint acct. He wants to upgrade a device, but Sprint usually doesn't run a promo for a device upgrade for a single line. At least not a good / reasonable promo. I suggested two options: Port out his line (has more than one line on the acct) to ATT and then port back the same number a day or two later, but now it will be like adding a new line and so can get discount. The 2nd option was add a new line with 24 monthly installment via Bestbuy and then pay off the phone. I assumed that the installment billing doesn't require monthly credit so can be paid off immediately and then kill the line and then use the device on his current line.

So wasn't sure if porting out and then porting back in to the same acct will cause any issues or not? will the new line promo work, etc. Still not clear if the monthly installments involves monthly credit or not. Checked with BB, Sprint acct services (Retention) and Sprint telesales. No one can answer how the hell monthly installment payment is managed. BB website says monthly credit involved even with monthly installments. If true, can't pay the device immediately if u need the discounted price.

A lot of headaches for sure. Thx

Credit check team approved the application. But neither that team nor the sales team could create an account from the approved application, even after multiple attempts from my side. Visited the store as advised in the wiki. They are not ready to help/create an am account without adding any plan. Finally had to send an email to marci ( sprint senior VP) as advised in the wiki. I wouldn't have gone through all this hassle had they not dinged my credit. I don't want to go with empty hands now taking just the ding.
This happened to me back in Dec. Unless your application was saved by the original telesales rep, who rejected your application the first time, you will have to reapply. I called the credit dept, they asked me those tricky questions and I passed so I was able to reapply and not wait 60 days. My telesales guy didn't save the application so I had to go thru the same shit again, another credit pull (but the credit dept said it is considered only one pull if it happened within 24 hours), etc. They asked the same tricky questions and I passed again and got the application approved. So I went thru the identity verification questions 5 each 3 times. I missed one in the first try and they rejected my app.

So go thru the process and reapply.

I don't have trust in them when they say it won't show in the credit report even if it's run again. How do I make sure even if they run credit again, it won't show up in the credit history?

Either method works. Sprint is currently waiving sim's shipping charge but if you have a compatible sprint sim for your eligible phone, you can use that.
thank you

In general people here have been buying S8's, S9's, Note 8's from Verizon deals to use on Sprint because that does allow Verizon payoff and immediate use on Sprint. That is better than the Sprint deals. That's what everyone has been posting. Even then you have to do it just right.

For discussion of Sprint's financing deals, these and other threads may help, but in general Sprint's deals they are unattractive in comparison to Verizon's from what I read:

I just received my first bill. Got charged 4 dollars. They said it's the tax I have to pay. Did you guys get that too?
Did you start in the middle of the month? Did they charge the same no matter which day you start? In this case, we should start near the end of the month, right? Thank you!

This is what I can tell you. It didn't change my FICO score from all 3 reporting agencies. Capital One Creditwise showed only one inquiry. This could be YMMV case depending on your fico score.

Other than this, I have no way to confirm what they say is true or not. Though credit dept lady seemed to know her stuff. She said it would be counted as one hard pull and not two if it is within 24 hrs.

They start your billing date for the day you signed up, it'll renew the same day every month.

I have a Trial Caller Name Presentation - $0.00 add-on in my account. If I visit the 'Change my services' page there's no checkbox or option to remove that add-on, just one box in front of "Public Static IP address - $3.00." No other add-ons available.

Is Trial Caller Name Presentation that something I need to remove to avoid charges in the next cycle? My first bill has already posted, due Sept. 20, and there's no charge (yet). Searched this thread and only found a few mentions of Premium Caller ID - is that the same thing?

Also, every time I log into my account Sprint sends a text to my phone and mentions I might have to reset my password.
Just checked my account and I also see a service add on $0.00 for Trial Caller Name Presentation.

Do I have to contact chat support to remove this?

Since nobody else has posted on that in over a year since two posts were made in 2017, I think it is a safe bet that it it is not a source of problems.

Made sure I searched the thread first before asking.

Hopefully that person can chime in on what he or she did

IIRC it drops off on its own after the trial period ends, and you don't need to do anything.

With digital T-Mobile SIM from ebay , port out from sprint can be done through t-mobile online website or do we always have to call T-Mobile customer support?

Which one is the error free and easy 1) through tmobile website or 2) through customer support?

Do we have to fund any amount in t-mobile digital sim?

You can choose either method. See Wiki's FAQ #1 for more info.
