Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Good news for all those who have activated the "loophole" Boost G6 Play phone that was available several months ago but is no longer.

1. The G6 is listed as a "Motorola z² Play - Open Market" in the accounts, NOT as a G6 Play, so it'll remain as a Sprint eligible device. When the Sprint reps are given the IMEI they identify it as a Motorola z² Play, as it is listed in the Sprint database.

2. The phone remains unlocked after it is taken out of Sprint to another provider and then brought back into another Sprint account. It does NOT get re-locked. The phone was originally unlocked for domestic and int'l use by Sprint 45 days after activating it in an account.

Some Sprint reps will tell you that they'll waive the $30 activation fee BUT that you're required to enroll in the Sprint Complete Care Service while others do not lie to do that.
It can be immediately deleted from your Sprint online account under Change Services. There is a lag before it appears in your Sprint online account as deleted but wait a few hours or a day and check again to see if it is deleted. It should be updated after a few hours.
You'll also get an email like this to confirm the deletion:

"Hi Abcdefg Hijklmnop,

Thanks for managing your Sprint account online. On 01/XX/2019 at 06:66:66 you asked us to change these services for 5551234567 on account number 123456789:

Removed: Device protection: Sprint Complete - $15.00/mo**

Be patient but if it's not deleted after several hours or a day at most chat with a Sprint rep while you're logged in to your Sprint account. Or you can call CS at 1-800-SPRINT1.
The chat icon may not appear with some browsers, it did not appear with Chrome but it did with MS Edge.

The T-Mobile method of porting out of Sprint to T-Mo and back to Sprint works well. It costs $2.50+$3.00+about $1.50Taxes=+/- $7.00.
Another option is AT&T but that costs about twice that, but it comes with a phone # IF you need it to port a new device and a new tel.# to Sprint to enroll in the BYOD 1 Year Free plan. If you read thru the Wiki and search this thread there are also other options to do what you want to do.
Did you buy separate t mobile Sims? I just bought one digital off eBay and transferred one of my numbers out and back in and T-Mobile says I can't use it again yet I was curious how long it will take to reset to where I can transfer my other number with that same t mobile SIM card.

Another successful port out to TMobile, port back in for another free year for 3 lines. Process was fairly simple, just followed the steps outlined.

I am having some trouble cancelling the insurance, getting an error when removing it online. Will try again tomorrow, then call if needed.

Also, for some reason the csr gave me another 2 months extension, my service is good through March 31 2020.

Figured out the problem: the chat button on sprint.com doesn't show up in firefox. Perhaps it's a setting I've disabled or an add-on that causes this. Shows up fine in IE.
Well that makes two of us. I posted the same thing .

I was eventually able to eventually get Firefox repaired so that the Sprint Chat buttons show again.

No need for the sprint chat button.

First log in with your sprint acocat. Then open a new tab and run a Google search for 'sprint chat'. Open the new tab and chat away.

As long as your session is still signed in, you are good to chat in a new tab

Will be facing this dilemma in a couple of months. What if I swap my Fi Pixel 3XL with a Nexus 5X thereby deactivating my 3XL from Fi, then asking them to flip the flag while I am not on any carrier. Then once flipped I'll port my number from Fi to a temporary prepaid like t-mobile.... And then port in to Sprint using the Pixel 3 XL.? What do you think Commie....?
Exactly. That will work fine.

The main problem some people seem to have is not being able to communicate what they want to Fi (which is not surprising considering most people do not understand it technically). . Some Fi reps may be pretending not to understand. You should have no problem getting it done yourself since you do understand.

There are other ways to get it flipped but since Fi has done it for many posters here, it seems to me it is the easiest way.

And I do see a few indications now that *maybe* it is getting flipped automatically now in many cases so maybe there will be no problem but I do not want to count on that.

It's a travesty that not one person has said thank you or at the very least so much as gave you a helpful post bump .
So I'm doing all 3, 1.thank you! 2. Gave you Rep. 3. Voted post as helpful.

To anyone else well versed in this thread but hasn't had the opportunity to help another member out that does his best to always give rep (even if it's rep for someone helping others as evidenced above : ). ) I'll give you such an opportunity Smilie

I thought that this seemed like a simple straight forward thread especially with the wiki provided at the beginning but was ready to do some due diligence in skimming the comments section before committing some time tomorrow to pull the trigger tomorrow but at a current comment count well over 2000 posts, my first instinct is to jump ship and not follow through.

Even if a fair bit of these posts can be attributed to the usual innocent but almost entirely off topic hand holding questions from the tech. adverse crowd or the very lazy that anything to do with consumer electronics but especially mobile devices always attracts, what on earth is the tone of the remaining 10% of on topic posts which still amounts to over 200 posts?!

Is this offer, free or not, at a point with many people that it's been such an overall unexpectedly time consuming process with no end in sight?

The mind boggles at what such a significant amount of posts could mean so a quick rundown or just the current, developing sticking points that's causing issues would help a lot.

If you've made it even halfway in keeping current on this thread then just a comparatively tiny amount of time sharing your knowledge would be most appreciated

Ninja Edit for a quick P.S./WTF
Am I reading the wiki correctly in regards to the Essential phone being knocked off the list of compatible/accepted phones?!! The not so long ago media darling and Sprint exclusive that was all that could be discussed for some time about what a dark horse it was and yet with such a undeniable pedigree with the main man behind it all being Android OG royalty?! An actually interesting story from a much better time before the absurd bizarre hyper focus on notches is all you could read about for years.

I know the Essential phone tanked (had to pick it up out of sheer morbid curiosity when they dropped to a couple hundred for a brand new one) and all but shame on Sprint for abandoning it like this because , success or not, that phone had people, myself included, actively considering going to their service for the first time in ages just for the exclusive phone.

"Note 12: if u fail credit check or are told u need to wait 60 days or anything credit related. Consider calling the Credit Dept direct at 800-639-6116 and explain . They are often able to help."

Does anybody have similar advice for AT&Ts credit check, they want a ridiculous down playment of $850 from me, or $1,300.00 if we also got Uverse bundled.

Essential PH-1 is eligible.

https://community.sprint.com/t5/P...-p/1020211

If you have one, you can check the IMEI in the Sprint checker.

Otherwise, there are more popular choices now - see the Wiki and recent posts for some recommendations of some Sprint branded LG models. eg LG G5 or G6 (Sprint models are not mentioned on the official lists usually but are eligible also).

I have seen the same thing with Samsungs. For a while, my Samsung S8+ has shown up as a different phone. But eventually it went back to showing as a Samsung S8+.
This is the Reddit thread on the recent Sprint activation of the Boost Moto G6 Play by someone:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...ay_unlock/

He activated this phone on 1/9/2019.
He doesn't state where the phone was purchased, used, directly from Boost, Walmart, etc.
If it was purchased used and it was one of the original Walmart phones of last summer, that may be the reason why it was still able to be activated on Sprint.
If it was purchased directly from Boost that may not be the case as the IMEIs may have been recorded as Boost.
The only way to find out is to spend the $79.99 below and return it unopened to Boost if it doesn't work.

Boost Returns:

https://www5.boostmobile.com/?ECI...rn-policy/

There should be no restocking fee if the phone is returned unopened.

This phone is now on special offer by Boost for $79.99, the same price it was sold for at Walmart last summer.
The phone is on sale for $99.99 BUT there is a special ONLINE only code ending today 1/28/2019:
Android Promotion
Get an extra 20% off any new Android phone
Enter the code EXTRA2019 in checkout
Online only offer
Offer ends 1/28/2019, while supplies last and only online from boostmobile.com. Not eligible with BoostUP!.

If anyone here tries it please share your outcome here. You don't even have to open the box as all the required activation info is printed on the outside.

Check this post for some more info on this phone but the re-lock comment there no longer applies to this phone as stated on my other recent post above:

Did you buy separate t mobile Sims? I just bought one digital off eBay and transferred one of my numbers out and back in and T-Mobile says I can't use it again yet I was curious how long it will take to reset to where I can transfer my other number with that same t mobile SIM card.
I got the digital eBay one like you for $2.50 as stated in the Wiki here.
I t can't be used again like you.
