Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sure you can and lots of people have done just that.

You do not need to involve TMobile.

When using someone else's ssn, for a 2nd year do you need to use there information, or do you still put your own information, like first name last name, address etc?

They should be the one applying, not you, and should take responsibility that all their info is accurate.
You can help them but no more than that.

Initiated a port yesterday from Sprint to T-Mobile prepaid, by going to https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prep...own-device, then using a digital SIM which I got from ebay. The order went through successfully ($3 + tax), but the Port still has not completed.

Called 877-789-3106 for port status today, they transferred me to the prepaid port status 877-778-2106, said that the port was still in progress and may take upto 72 hours, and that there is a ticket opened for my request.

No idea what happened this time around, usually it is super quick.

Just in case this helps anyone else. I ported out from sprint yesterday (after multiple attempts by their retention team to get me to stay, their best offer was a plan for like $50/month). I was going to stay with the other service provider for 45 days and then attempt to port back in to get another free year.

Instead, I got a phone call today from sprint offering me a new plan for $30/month for 2gb (totally enough for me) along with a $200 instant account credit. So basically seven free months. It's a great offer for me so I agreed to port back! Figured it's a good plan anyways and this way I'm at least guaranteed seven free months (and if byod free year is around by then, I could always try doing the 45 day wait then).

Just wanted to throw this out there!

what part of this is not clear?
where is TM mentioned at all

direct quote from FAQ in wiki:

2: Where can i get a number to port?

one good option is Google Voice

be sure to get a phone number from major city that has good Sprint coverage or u will get rare message "phone number not portable" you can check on the sprint map

Go to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock and unlock your Google Voice number, which will cost $3 and is payable online by card
Set a voicemail pin here https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#...ilsettings - you will need this pin in order to finish the porting
You account number will be your 10 digit phone number and the PIN is your voicemail pin that you'll set. In case you are activating over phone, tell the associate your existing provider is bandwidth.com.
https://support.google.com/voice/...67#xferout

If you've never set your pin or if you want to try to change it, this worked for me.
Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

If the gaining carrier is requesting the zip code: use 94043
If the gaining carrier is requesting an address then you need to use the full street address:
1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043

PORT STATUS AND COMPLETION INFO:
Google Voice seemed stuck in porting limbo for over a day. Found this link which gave status and aid to call in. 5min later its ported and activated
https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml
Call: 866-437-1818
** Google Voice (bandwidth.com) is considered a landline phone provider, and may take up to 3 days to port. If you call the # above, they will do it right away for you

logic would indicate that if u are providing sprint with a new ss# , you would provide S with the information of that person?

is that not intuitive?

I thought I read somewhere there is some issue with Freedom because it isn't landline or mobile .. isn't that the case ? If that is not the case What's the process to port in anything I need to be careful of ? TIA
