Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Last time i kept up with this page, the byod promotion was ending on 1/30/19. My 45 days just passed since i left sprint so I am new customer again and I can do the byod again. I noticed in the wiki Phase 7: 08/24/18 - Ongoing (Savings ends 03/31/20). So does that mean this promo is not ending on 1/30/19 anymore?
As mentioned many times in this thread the promo may end at any time, but is our general opinion that it will carry into March of this year. The new end of savings date for new sign ups is 3/31/20.

Thanks! Ha I was surprised about the credits as well! She said I'm good to go for several months! And yes, I had the transcript emailed to me.

Last thing to do is port over my Verizon number and activate my new unlocked Note 9. As bad as signing up was, I know this will be a disaster as well! Too bad you can't just swap SIM cards. Mad

Is your note 9 unlocked Verizon branded or unlocked unbranded model?

Galaxy Note9 128GB (Unlocked)
MODEL NUMBER: SM-N960UZBAXAA

Bought it on Samsung.com. Unlocked device. Not the Verizon one. Any idea if this will roam on Tmobile while on Sprint? And if so, will it take some setting adjustments?

T-Mobile porting usually takes 30 minutes or less to complete if everything goes well. A few other people are also having issue porting to T-Mobile these past few weeks. Contact the T-Force team [t-mobile.com] and remind them that the FCC rules require simple number porting (wireless number to wireless number) to be processed within one business day [fcc.gov], and they should not accept the port request and let the number stuck in limbo if they can't process it within one business day. Not everyone can afford to let their number stuck in limbo, especially if that is their only number in which they may need it for any emergency situation. Hope they solve your issue soon. Make more love!
Thanks MK, this is great info. Have you or have you read about port problems being resolved quickly through their twitter page?

Daddy! Ho! Ho! hodaddy! Most are resolved by the T-Force within a day. A few people still have their numbers stuck in limbo. Don't know the real reason behind the porting issue with T-Mobile. I am guessing some problem with the T-Mobile access point to the number clearinghouse (since other carriers are able to automatically process and complete port requests with no problem), so T-Mobile have to manually verify the number ownerships and approve the port requests. Make more love Big Grin

Thanks but was looking for confirmation of US carrier branded models being added to Sprint database. The unlocked XAA model has been eligible since release. I don't have any info about T-Mobile roaming, sorry, I'm sure some of the Samsung experts will chime in.

It should roam with the factory XAA firmware if you have not modified it because TMB CSC is there. Just update the PRL if it does not roam on T-Mobile. Make more love!

This is a scam, don't get caught into this trap. Spring service doesn't work with this offer. If you port your number for this offer , you will end up having no service in your phone !

Thanks for quoting the whole wiki with non-relevant info about days/SSN and Tmobile $3 pay-as-you-go (that is actually non burried when you call and I've even mentioned it in my post) , but the question was where (except for free Apple store sim cards and having friends in Tmobile retail) did you got a physical SIM card for $2.50? Or I again miss smth on how to activate online and create account with virtual ICCID number (I cannot without activation code and physical SIM card to receive a message).

(I also know how to apply colors Wave )
The $2.50 described above and by other posters refers ONLY to a DIGITAL ICCD number purchased from the ebay link in the Wiki:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/T-Mobile-SIM-Card-DIGITAL-ICCIDs-numbers-UN-Activated-No-Physical-Sim-shipp... [ebay.com]

I don't think T-Mo sells $2.50 Sim cards, it's more like $10.00:
Wiki link:

https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/

Here is the SIM you need
This SIM will work on the T-Mobile® network with 4G LTE support
T-Mobile® Prepaid 3-in-1 SIM Starter Kit
SKU : 000000610214657411
$10.00 upon activation

You ask:

".... how to activate online and create account with virtual ICCID number (I cannot without activation code and physical SIM card to receive a message)."

From what other posters have posted and experienced here, including me, they DID create a T-Mo account without an activation code and physical Sim card. No text messages were sent. A phone was not needed.
The Wiki states that a physical sim card and a phone are NOT needed. And that's how people here did it and are doing it now.
It's really a very simple process done only online without the involvement of any T-Mo rep.
1. You have the ICCID # from the ebay purchase.
2. You port in a Sprint tel. #.
3. You get the T-Mo account # and Pin when you set up the T-Mo prepaid $3.00 account online.
4. Now you're ready to port back to Sprint and create a new account for another free year!

Perhaps someone else here can comment on your problem to expand on your concern.

The only time you'll have no service is if you're located in an area without Sprint coverage.
If you're in another provider's coverage area then your phone will show ROAMING if it's not deactivated in your phone.

Hundreds of thousands have done this Free Deal and most are in their 2nd or 3rd year of free Sprint service.
Just look at this thread!
You must check what provider's coverage is available in your area.

It will, but I suspect possibly not as often or as readily as a branded model would, at least not right away..

For branded models that are eligible for VoLTE generally, Sprint is now switching them to TMO at the point where they would otherwise switch from Sprint LTE to Sprint 3G..In other words, it is "guaranteeing" them LTE.

For unbranded models, they will switch to Sprint 3G at that point (not to TMO LTE). They will switch to TMobile only if there is no Sprint signal at all.

Also you probably will not have VoLTE, Visual VoiceMail, and built-in Wifi Calling on the unbranded models right away. (There is a PlayStore app for Visual VoiceMail that may work)

This MAY just be a function of the fact that updates lag behind by months or more on the unbranded model. You may get these eventually.

The above is the general pattern observed on S8 etc. It does not all apply exactly to Note 9 because Note 9 does not have VoLTE even on the branded version QUITE yet. But it is expected.any time now. It is possible that when they do release it for Note 9, they might be more generous and release it right away even for unbranded Note 9. But I doubt it.

That's it - I just thought you are telling about real SIM. I have used this way (with ICCID code) two days ago and here are some issues I got and why I'd go with physical card next time:
1) First CSR asked where did I got a "this SIM" without activation code (I said Apple Store) and said he won't activate it for me but will transfer me to L2 Mad
2) Second CSR activated without any extra questions. I asked phone number (since I have no physical card) and accoun # for "just in case". I was told the phone number and that account # is 1+phonenumber.
3) When I got stuck in porting extra line to Sprint, I found more proofs that CSR was wrong and new system has different account numbering scheme.
4) Finally, I spend near phone more 2 hours (first call dropped after 1 hour) waiting for CSR to get correct account number.
Of course YMMV, but next time / line I'd go with physical SIM with activation code to save time.

You may want to consider doing this ONLY ONLINE as described in the Wiki and avoid the unpredictable and misinformed T-Mo CSRs as many here have done and still do.
