Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You may want to consider doing this ONLY ONLINE as described in the Wiki and avoid the unpredictable and misinformed T-Mo CSRs as many here have done and still do.
Looks like similar page to one I tried first and got stuck later w/o a code, but probably I had to do a new click from wiki - I pulled a page from history. Frown

still waiting for Note 9 from Verizon to released on Sprint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dang it, takes samsung that long????
It may be happening - see edog11's post just tonight.

HOWEVER it may be some weeks AFTER Sprint first enables activation of other-branded Note 9 IMEI's for Samsung to actuality release the OTA update. At least, that's what happened with S9.

Did you check the IMEI on the checker again tonight? That's what he suggested doing. Again, once the day comes where it checks ok on the checker, do NOT assume it actually is ok without some further short delay.

Always use the Wiki link.
You also should have received an email from T-mo after setting the T-Mo account online with:

Well nobody expected it would be right away. Samsung does it according to a schedule which includes a good fraction of a year after release before enabling BYOD brand switching capability.

I think edog11 was indicating he is seeing indications it may be planned for this general time frame. Did you read his post and do the other steps he suggested?

Probably best reply directly to edog11's post. He is the expert on this.

Did you try running thru the ting BYOD to see if it was eligible for both CDMA and GSM?
After seeing a spam post for note 9 unlocking earlier, I checked the note 9 byod info and it shows BYOD capable as yes. Also based on timing of S8,Note 8, and S9 I was guesstimating sometime in February for note 9 brand switching. But maybe Sprint hasn't actually added yet.
Hopefully it will pretty soon, but until the brand switching firmware is released you couldn't activate fully unless you flash the unlocked or Sprint firmware even if it was added. This happened to one of our s9 users.
I probably should not have brought it up until had better confirmation and updated firmware was released. I will edit other post.

It isn't the first bill. I contacted sprint via chat and got the protection canceled. There's a thing called spending limit? On the billing page and it got reduced from $36 to $21. So I assume that's my bill for the month right?

It will, but I suspect possibly not as often or as readily as a branded model would, at least not right away..

For branded models that are eligible for VoLTE generally, Sprint is now switching them to TMO at the point where they would otherwise switch from Sprint LTE to Sprint 3G..In other words, it is "guaranteeing" them LTE.

For unbranded models, they will switch to Sprint 3G at that point (not to TMO LTE). They will switch to TMobile only if there is no Sprint signal at all.

Also you probably will not have VoLTE, Visual VoiceMail, and built-in Wifi Calling on the unbranded models right away. (There is a PlayStore app for Visual VoiceMail that may work)

This MAY just be a function of the fact that updates lag behind by months or more on the unbranded model. You may get these eventually.

The above is the general pattern observed on S8 etc. It does not all apply exactly to Note 9 because Note 9 does not have VoLTE even on the branded version QUITE yet. But it is expected.any time now. It is possible that when they do release it for Note 9, they might be more generous and release it right away even for unbranded Note 9. But I doubt it.
Thank you for the detailed info. Very much appreciate it. Wow that blows as I was thinking the opposite. That a truly unlocked Note 9 would easily switch to Tmobile. Sprint by itself is very lacking network wise as we all know, but seamless roaming with Tmobile should make it more than liveable.

So to get the best benefits of seamless roaming on Tmobile and VoLTE, I should purchase a Sprint branded Note 9? Would a Sprint branded Note 9 work on Verizon just in case I have to go back? They are relatively cheap selling as new on Swappa at $699 or so.

Thanks again!

36 minus 15 for total protection=21

On your dashboard-manage plan>see details

I suspect you may be on the wrong plan. See wiki FAQ #6

From what I'm seeing theres something called "Spending Limit Program Charge - $7.99 for all devices" <--- I don't get this. Ok it says "Waived account spending limit" so that's not it. and this:

Unlimited - Bring Your Phone
Unlimited Talk, Text and Data.
$5/line/mo up to 5 lines. (up to $60/line value free with AutoPay until 3/31/20)
Requires $5 per line/per month AutoPay discount.
Savings until 3/31/20; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2 and $20/mo./line for lines 3-5 with AutoPay
DVD-quality streaming

Nothing more and thank you for the replies.
