Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The problem with roaming, especially when travelling, is that there is no indication on what system one is roaming on, and roaming fees can add up pretty fast.
Even if one checks the account every few minutes certainly there must be a time lag where the roaming fees will not be posted on the account. Is that time lag 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, etc.? Unless absolutely necessary or unless one knows with certainty that the roaming is on T-Mo, roaming should be used with care or be avoided.
Have you tried it much? I have never seen my phone roam other than on on TMo and I do not think that is a practical problem for 99% of people on this plan.

Sprint's intention is to leave it enabled.

It does not really matter if you go over anyway, all that happens is that roaming gets cut off. There is no charge.

So I see little downside.

I don't want to force roaming, I want to only roam on tmobile.
Maybe they will have that one day.

Meanwhile try it for a while and monitor your roaming total and I predict you will stop worrying about a hypothetical problem that will probably never occur, and even if it does occur has no real practical consequence other than roaming gets cut off for the rest of the month.

I'm sure you already know but I'll post this here for others:

Sprint may terminate svc. if off-network roaming usage in a mo. exceeds:
(1) 800 min. or a majority of min.; or (2) 100MB or a majority of KB

Yes but this is just old legalese which does not apply to the new unlimited free TMobile roaming (which will not even show as roaming now on iPhones)..

You will see your "off-network roaming usage" does not go up on your account. So you will be within the terms of that by definition.

This is widely known on other forums.

Haven't tried it with Sprint but I got a good surprise a few years ago with another provider and since then I avoid it. It's good to know about the recent Sprint-T-Mo roaming arrangement.

Oh, by the way, when I was talking to Sprint CS last week I was told to always leave roaming disabled.

Absolutely I agree that you can run into huge bills if not careful on those providers that charge for roaming.

I certainly run free LTE Discovery (actually paid SignalCheck Pro is ideal) to track bands. You can get the latter to post an Icon in the notification area showing the band.

They are so far out of touch I am almost not surprised.

If everyone left it disabled, that would certainly reduce the rep's workload. I imagine that was the motivating factor.

Right they just need to remove it from the system before it can be used again.

That particular sales rep had no patience and did not want to wait to sort out the details, that's all.

Assuming it is over 45 days since your SSN was used actively anywhere in Sprint, I would try one more time with TeleSales (get the person's name), and if they still strike out, call the Credit Dept direct at 1-800-639-6116 and ask them to remove your SSN from the old dormant account so that you can sign up.
Thanks!

My experience is that roaming is suspended for the remainder of the month once I reach the 100mb limit. The 100mb is again available with the start of the next month. I have not had the suspension since the free T-Mobile roaming.

I have a sero line and an existing BYOD line (7 months left). Is it possible to transfer the sero line (same number) to the BYOD line and replace it?

Sure via port-out to another carrier, then port-in (see Wiki for exactly how to do this).

I assume the two plans are under separate SSN's and that the phone is fully paid off and not under any payment plan etc.

Curious if anyone here is using a Wells Fargo credit card to pay the monthly bill solely for their device protection coverage (up to $600). I'm not sure they would cover phones on this plan since the monthly bill really just consists of taxes and figured SD'ers would know more than a general wells CSR.
Yes, they cover but it was painful to prove the phone is on plan
