Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

If this wasn't free, I'd just go elsewhere... No reps at the stores at sprint would give me a sim card at all, so I got one at the apple store. Frankly, all the reps at sprint stores were just plain jerks. You'd think they'd be nicer to promote good will, but NO.

I have an iPhone 5s I wanted to try the service with. I was told by a rep on the phone that I could change the phone out without penalty in a week if I wanted to. A 'manager' on the phone told me today that I couldn't, and I'd have to wait 120 days. I was also told that I'd have to order the sim card on the website and couldn't use any other one. No one could help me over the phone telling me I'd have to have an account first/check my credit before seeing if a sim card I already have would work. I just got a new one today from the apple store, the phone recognizes it, so It should work right? Just disgusted with everyone at Sprint, they all try to sell me crap or just don't know what they're talking about, or flat out LIE. I've been told on the phone I have to go online.... oi...

Basically, my plan is to try with the iPhone 5s, then switch everything to a new Samsung S9 unlocked phone that is supposed to work with CDMA AND GSM. I'd like to use my LG G5, but online tool says it won't work/not compatible, and the phone reps say the same thing (although the phone settings show it has CDMA as well as GSM (verizon phone).

If I'm going to get a screw job from the get-go, perhaps I should just wait and go straight with the samsung s9? If I get this service, finally, can I add additional phones / lines myself via an online portal, or do I have to deal with the retards on the phone again?

Actually if you're going to get annoyed at silly things like that I would suggest you not try this at all

You check the imei and phone number before porting. That way you know if both the phone and number are eligible.

Do not ask Sprint anything ever. Do not go to Sprint stores ever. We have all answers right here (see the Wiki)..

Your can swap phones as much as you want using Chat. Again, tell them, do not ask them.

You can never just move a sim card - get the exact one yourself, then call the number ending in 8777 to sign up or add a line.

iPhone 5S does not have the high-speed Sprint band and so would be a disaster. Any non-Sprint version of 5S even worse.

Any carrier's S9 will work fine. (Of course get it unlocked by the original carrier first). For heaven's sake get the correct sim card which is SIMOLW506TQ (or 406TQ also) and do not mess around with other sim cards unless you want another disaster. .It is in the 4 in 1 kit ($2.99).

Nightmare experience for me today. Ordered the 4in1 sim kit a few days ago. Arrived yesterday so I called today to port my daughters iPhone Xs. Could barely understand lady on phone and thought she said to put the "B" sim card in it. I did so and it activated on the sprint network. I gave her the ICCID and she said it was the wrong one. Turns out I needed to insert the "D" one. Fine, did that and gave her the new ICCID. Completed the port of the number. Can't make calls, can't text, no data. They connect me to tech support and they have me do all this stuff to no avail. I get disconnected. Repeat this process SIX more times. Get disconnected during every single call. Last person tells me I have to go to the store and get a new SIM. I have spent 5 hrs on the phone with them so far.

I know I am not supposed to go to the store on this deal, but I don't have any other choice at this point. So I drive 30 minutes to the store, and they swap SIMs and have the exact same result. They tell me I have to go to a "higher" store another 15 minutes away. I do so. Guess what, higher store tells me they can't help me and I need to go to a "technical" store 45 min away. I am now 7 hrs into this. I decide to give up and go home and plan to port my daughters account to another provider tomorrow. Despite this horrible experience, I still wanted to port my own number over. I call sprint and they can't "authenticate" my account because they have to send a text to my daughters phone (which can't get texts). So I now have no way to access my account to add another line. They refused to send me the code via email. They then sent me to tech support for the 7th time. Repeat entire same process. No difference. Get disconnected in middle yet again.

I believe the problem stems from the fact that my IMEI is somehow tied to the first "B" SIM that I inserted. I bet if I had a different iPhone to try, I could request an equipment swap and it would work. I don't believe anyone will ever be able to solve this problem so I am moving on.
Do not ask Sprint anything ever. Do it right yourself and just tell them things, not ask them. Do not go to Sprint stores.

We have all answers right here - starting with the Wiki.

The 4 in one kit is fine. The correct sim in it for your phone is SIMOLW516TQ . Just put that one in and use Chat to give them the ICCID. That's all you need. Reset and reboot a few times. (416TQ is fine too).

Great deal, but does Sprint or any wireless provider know what they are doing?
My Verizon phone number I ported to V*** an MVNO. I want to sign up for Sprint BYOD.

At the Sprint website, I meet a cheery chat rep who says I MUST buy the SIM card for this promo. I wasn't going to, having a new Sprint SIM in my top drawer. OK, I'll buy it. $2.99, tax, but no shipping costs. I order it from the website. I want to port my phone number. I call Sprint to ask how this works since I have heard that porting takes 2-5 days. THAT WAS MY MISTAKE. Down the rabbit hole for 3 hours. I talk to E* at an offshore Sprint call center who proceeds to start from scratch: name, address, phone number, IMEI, credit check. Didn't I do that online already? E asks me for the ICCID number which I explain hasn't arrived yet. I mention my SIM card in the desk drawer. E plugs it in , no problem. He activates the account and hey presto! I have an iPhone 6s with a Sprint SIM in it, ported number and all! HOWEVER, E has signed me up for "insurance" - Sprint Complete which I said I didn't need for an older iPhone. It costs $15 a month. It then takes another TWO hours talking to Sprint Customer Care, Asurian the insurance company behind Sprint Complete, and a couple of website Chats with both Sprint and Asurian before I get a second tier person at Sprint who can remove the insurance. Can't do it online, can't do it with Asurian, and the first two people at Sprint Customer Care not only said they had no access to remove the insurance, why dontcha keep it anyway? For your brand new device....recall this is an old BYOD. Oh, and Sprint asks for a six digit PIN. By this time I am chopping onions for dinner.

After all that, the phone service works fine, without any of the quirks of V**** the MVNO. As long as I don't have to talk to a human at Sprint again, I expect to be quite happy. Dear Lord.
You can just cancel the Sprint Complete by Chat or on the online DashBoard. We all do these all the time.

Yikes. A night of whining and complaining. Their time would have been better spent reading the wiki. Can you imagine the promo's success without a clear and concise wiki? And expert advice from Comintel, edog, Desi and others. MK was right, Sprint should grandfather us to this promo!

I've done it already. SIM won't activate. I have reset network settings like 10 times. I have factory reset the phone. Nothing works. If I reboot it tries to activate and then after a few minutes it locks the SIM. I got a new SIM card. Same thing. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point.

All's well that ends well but Chat cancels these all the time.

The Billing people may be closed Saturday night.

Probably ICCID is wrong on the system.

Check it in your dashboard by selecting your device then search the menus for Swap Sim or New Sim. This will show you what is in the system. Compare that by what is on your sim. It will help you correct it if it is wrong. (It may invoke Chat).

Other than that the phone is probably still locked to another carrier. You can get the GSX report (the Locking Policy section) on EBay to check that ($1).

Thanks. Ordered the report for $1 and can confirm phone is unlocked. Chat wouldn't help me because I couldn't reply to their security text (because my phone isn't working!).
