Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Went to a corporate Sprint store, and they gave me 2 unpackaged SIM cards (can't complain for free). What sucks is now I don't know which is for the iPhone and which is for the new unlocked Alcatel Idol 5s I scored at Walmart earlier today for $49. They look identical.
If you mean by unpackaged that they just gave you SIM cards removed from credit card sized package, it can be difficult. The sim itself only shows iccid and a version. The charts that give part number do not reference the version.
You can google pictures of SIM card SIMOLW416Q which shows version 02.02 or simglw416q shows version 80.02a. These would work on idol 5s. You can verify on Tello checker by entering idol 5s imei then iccid and it will give green check if compatible( don't sign up of course). You did not give what iPhone but can also verify iccid on Tello checker.
If still attached to credit card package then easy peazy from sim link in wiki.

Hi comintel,
I was roaming in Mexico last month and was charged $0.40 for international text.
The Sprint Global Roaming feature seems correct for the $0.25/min voice calls, but I did not get the free text messaging. Any idea why?

Thanks!

21 Roaming Minutes - Mexico @ $0.25 /min
$5.25

2 International Text Messages - Mexico @ $0.20 /msg
$0.40

UPDATED: I did a chat with customer care, and they credited me the $0.40. They said my acct is a new acct and maybe the backend system did not detect it correctly. Anyways, they filed a ticket for their backend team to take a look.

One of them is 80.02a, so it looks like that is the Alcatel one. The other is 63.07a, which I hope will work on my iPhone SE. There are two other sets of #s in the SIM card itself. Are you saying this will not be enough info for me to use them? Yeah, they literally just handed me the SIM cards themselves, no packaging/instructions.

You have figured it out.

Since edog11 is offline, I can confirm in case you need a quick answer that you are all set!

I was very impressed by edog11's resourcefulness in helping you figure out which was which from the version number!. Plus he also gave another way to do it with the Tello checker at https://tello.com/bring_your_own_phone - did you see that one too? No matter - you are good to go now in my opinion.

Just call the number ending in 8777 given in the Wiki once they open up for the day and sign up.

If they press you to take the insurance, it is usually easiest just to take it. Then use Chat later in the day to cancel it. Chat goes to a non-sales department so they do that no problem.

Good to know!
I too have found they are usually good about crediting back for international charges that seem out of line.

One more thing: the wiki states that if your credit is good (mine is in the high 700s) you get approved for 5 lines, which is what I'm expecting. Now do I need a separate SSN for each one of those lines?? Am I gonna need my mom's SSN to add her to one of my 5 lines? Or is my SSN good for all 5 lines? Thanks.

No, the additional 4 lines would be added under your SSN

I currently have this on 2 lines upto end Nov 2019.

I just ordered the Mint SIM $20 deal for 3 months, planning to switch to Mint and then come back to Sprint for this offer for the 3rd time.

But I read a comment in the Mint SIM thread that the Sprint offer is ending next month so I may have issue with the 45 day wait period on Sprint for starting new account.

Can anyone confirm that the Sprint deal expires next month and when? (presumably end March)

If that's the case then I'll stay with Sprint to end November and then try my Mint SIM in case they didn't expire then.

I got the Mint SIM's for free because of cashback.

As appuceles notes, and just to say it in your exact way, yes, the one SSN is good for all 5 lines.

Just to explain at further length what Desi quite correctly notes, they always extend the end of savings date only 2 or 3 months at a time.

So, it has always been the case, since this offer started the better part of 2 years ago, that they COULD end it at the any of the many rollover dates along the way, every 2 or 3 months (or at any time in fact).

But they never have done so, and there is no particular indication that they would do so THIS particular time, any more so than any other time.

People generally, including many Sprint reps, get very confused over this. About the only place you will find this stated correctly is here, in the Wiki and this thread.
