Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

anyone have experience with messing up the port from Sprint to T-Mobile?
I tried to add my girlfriend's Sprint number to my free BYOD plan tonight, but unfortunately she gave me the wrong PIN for her Sprint account. I tried the port to T-Mobile online and it didn't go through. figured something was wrong so I had her double check everything and we realized her PIN was incorrect. I called T-Mobile and they said the port is still showing as pending and there's nothing they can do right now, and that I needed to call back after 24 hours. I asked if they could cancel the port process and we could restart it, and they said there was nothing they could do. they said her phone number was pretty much in limbo until the port either goes through or doesn't go through
anyone have any experience with this? will I still be able to use the same SIM # from ebay, or do I need to buy another one?

Thanks as always! Guess I'll keep my unlocked Note 9 since I won't be adding it to this Sprint account for another month or so. Maybe then non-Sprint Note 9's will be all figured out and have all the calling features. Odd the carrier model numbers are all N960U except the unlocked verson which has a 1 at the end?
iwheela
Vary good.

Right - across recent Samsung U.S. phone models, the carrier branded model ends in U and the factory unlocked model ends in U1, as you say.

Maybe the T-force team can help. See the link in this post by macrokelvin from a while back.

You can use the same sim again.
Judging by past experience, it is usually best to wait for the port to fail.
If you start cancelling ports that are still underway to try to make corrections, numbers can even get lost in the resulting confusion.

I wrote this before seeing hodaddy's post but his idea is good too. Regular TMobile customer service is terrible and they will not even investigate the status of ports properly so it is good to escalate it. Odds are it has already failed but regular customer service does not even have the tools to check real-time status.

I predict you will find yourself back on the higher download speed Sprint band after they finish upgrades in your area or whatever.

But you are right about the higher upload speed. As soon as I see higher upload speeds I know I am on TMobile at that moment!

Quite a few phone models (I think many iPhones and Samsungs) are suppressing the roaming indicator already in this case so it does not confuse people. But not all of them can be updated easily.
Yep, I'm back on Sprint band 41 already. According to the T-mobile coverage maps it should fill in the gaps for me quite nicely. I will find out in a couple weeks when I go out of town again.

Very good!

It is a huge boon to Sprint Service to have this capability and is already making a difference in my opinion to people's experience on Sprint.

My phone was recalled so i took it to apple and they gave me a loaner phone while mine was out for repair. The apple CSR called sprint to swap over the sim card from my phone to the loaner.

Well guess what, just got my Sprint bill for last month and they charged me for the "total equipment protection" for $14.99....that means the sprint CSR added it while on the phone with the apple CSR without me knowing.

You can also try calling T-Mobile Porting Dept at 1-877-789-3106 and see if they can fix it instead of cancel and re-port the number. Good luck and make more love Big Grin

ADDED: Also try 877-207-8169 if the rep from the above number refuses to help. Good luck.

I didn't know that number. Good advice. I know the Sprint porting dept. is very helpful and hopefully the tmo guys can get that done.

I could only tolerate Sprint service for 3 months. The service is free and it's so true - you get what you pay for.

just...
read wiki for help in getting a sim card

best buy has 4 in 1 sim card i think one of them should work.
can order from sprint online
can go to sprint corporate store and ask nicely, they may give u one

amazon has for sale. $9. delivered Wednesday
ebay has them $4 used
ebay has them $8 new

Part SIMGLW446C
Thanks for the part number SIMGLW446C.

I went to a retail sprint store, even willing to pay for this particular part number SIM. The store rep. said they can't even sell this SIM card and pushed me to just buy the BYOP 4-in-1 SIM kit.. the same one that was mentioned in the wiki.

The newest "Bring Your Own Phone 4-in-1 Sim Kit" (UPC 760492044707) contains SIMOLW506TQ, SIMOLW416Q, SIMOLW506C, and SIMOLW516TQ. and is available at most Sprint stores for $2.99 + tax.
Before I break open this SIM kit, I just would like to make sure that one of these 4 SIM cards will work with my Sprint LG G5 phone. Do you happen to know? It was only $3, but no point wasting $ if I have the wrong sim kit that won't work on my phone or this BYOP plan. Thanks!

People can certainly try, but they normally say they do not deal with prepaid numbers in my experience and transfer you to Prepaid Customer service.

However when I complained hard enough that Prepaid Customer Service has no actual port status information, they finally relented and started investigating my port's status..

Even then it took another hour for them to escalate it to specialists before they could even access the actual status.

Edog11 is an expert on sims (among other things) and may be able to help.

Meanwhile, picking up on his tips, what you could do, if you can see the ICCID's in the 4 in one kit, is try each one in turn on the checker on the Tello web site along with the IMEI until you see if one is accepted.

The reason this is a little difficult is because it is a Sprint phone that always comes with a sim normally so the phone is not mentioned in most of the BYOD sim charts. (It is mentioned on Ting with the SIMGLW446C number Desi provided). .

I don't know if you can just call to add the 6th line, ...

but what I can tell is that an account can have up to ten lines. I know this because when I first signed up for this deal (note: I have never ever been a customer at Sprint before) and right after the credit check, the customer rep said "Congratulations! You are eligible for 10 lines on your account!" and I was like, "Oh? Ok. Thanks but I don't need ten lines...."

Then he continued to say, "You're the first person that I have worked on who have successfully received ten lines!" and anyways, I thanked him again....

All I can say is, at least we know you can have ten lines.....
