Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Could someone please explain.
I'm eligible for upgrades, but I don't understand the advantage of doing one on this free plan.

Looking to port my iPhone X out of Sprint and back in quickly under my wife's SSN to get on this deal. Does she need to be the one to call or can I just provide her info? (I'm assuming that the suggestion to call and not do it all online in the deal page is still valid)
I've done this twice now. I make the call and tell the rep what I want and that the account will be under the other person's name. I hand the phone to that person to provide SSN and answer credit check questions. I then get the phone back and handle the rest of the call (numbers porting in, IMEIs, etc.).

Others have commented quite a bit.

It does not hurt to put it on and ask! In some cases phones can be unlocked right away, in other cases it takes 50 days.

Account Services are the only ones who can say. I think a direct number is 18443823317 . Chat and phone support cannot do these.
Thanks again. Will try. Someone said that the model I got A1687 was unlocked out of box for global use. I doubt , because I was unable to pass sprint check saying that the phone was financially not cleared. So I have to have it reskued. Will put in an active sim if I get a chance. Put the imei into Verizon and at&t checker, it looks passed, gave me plan choice to continue. I am at loss.

Sprint may have originally locked it in its database for prepaid/ payment issues without necessarily putting any locks in the Apple database. It sounds as if you got them to address that for you.

If it will already activate on other carriers (which would go by the Apple database), isn't that all you need? If so, you can just test that out and you are done already? What more do you need?

If you want you can order the GSX report on EBay for 99 cents and see what is on the Apple records. If everything is clear there, and you verify you can activate on other carriers, it seems to me you are done.

Worst don't trust there are couple of things they will ask to qualify. Finally they will put you into $45 plan by saying free offer by porting your number from other network to sprint. Worst customer care service and worst offer enabled persons. Better stay away if you want peace of mind. I suffered a lot and nearly 40 hour I spent to talk to them to resolve my issues. But not resolved, finally I moved of the sprint network.

It does take up a line by default - I had one - but they might be willing to give you an extra line after you use up all 5.. Some people said they were given up to 10 lines. You could call the number ending in 8777 and ask.
I approved for 5 lines and used all 5. Request MB later and send so no count .

Very good!

So you are saying it does not count against the 5.

That makes sense.

So probably your account shows 6 lines total now, I assume, bit that did not create any problem.

So pulled the trigger yesterday and have made a few calls, texts, and been using data. Seems like data is all over the place as far as speed but texts and calls I haven't really noticed any issues. At home and at my buddy's house I only get like 2 or 3 bars of data but that wasn't much different with T-mobile. Good thing both of us have WIFI. At work my data is good, nearly all bars. Was registering 32mb download speed at one point but upload was only about 1. I have to check it out more but happy with it for nearly free (at least for now). Took the advice about the 15 dollar per month phone insurance and just let the sales guy put it on. A few hours later had the chat guys take it off. No questions asked. One annoying thing is the phone downloads like 10 to 15 apps when it updates the firmware and each of them want you to pay for an extra service of some kind (Visual voicemail to text for 2.99 a month and that kind of thing). I deleted nearly all of them because I wouldn't use them anyways. Doesn't cost extra if you don't sign up for it right? Some hidden app installed too called appcloud, that doesn't show up in app drawer area. You can find it under apps and settings and remove it however. I think I finally got my phone back to the way I like it now. I'm in Phoenix AZ by the way. One last thing, my tmobile pin was somehow set up even though I don't remember doing it, caused me some trouble because I thought it was the last 4 of my social. Double check under your profile on mytmobile.com I forget what category it's under but just expand them. Thanks for the help everyone. Good luck

That has happened to some people who called a number other than the one ending in 8777.

Could that be the case for you?

In any case I agree it is better to just port out if it cannot be resolved immediately. There is a full refund if not satisfied if you cancel within 14 days. People can save themselves the 40 hours that way! Then they can start over if they want.

We could likely have helped you with some shortcuts (such as high level contacts in Sprint) if you had posted here, but I understand that does not occur to people.

Well that's a good question. We won't qualify for any of the super phone deals offer to paying customers. However once in awhile Sprint will run a blowout deal on last year's devices. So you can upgrade all five of your lines if you have five. No harm no foul. Many here did that with the essential phone and more recently the Moto Z2 Force

For the most part you can't just take your Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile phone even if it's unlocked and expect to use it fine on Sprint. Is your phone CDMA or GSM only? Does it even cover enough of the same frequency bands as Sprint?

It's suggested and easier that your wife call in to setup as during the credit check, some credit history information may be needed to verify identity and pass the check successfully.
I was able to use my SS# again only after three weeks. I did not have to wait '45' days. I had to answer three questions that they came up with..concerning where I lived and worked about 25 years ago... tough to remember.

I transferred over from Xfinity Mobile over to Sprint BYOD. Lets see how this move goes. Previously, I transferred my wife's line from Tmobile to Sprint which is working without any issues. It took me close to 2 hours on the phone though !!
