Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I bought one preowned 6s plus from Boost and currently activated on Sprint free plan after resku. Just check on Verizon , at&t BYOD , it looks like I can activate with them, does this mean this phone is already unlocked? How can I confirm the unlock status for sure? If unlocked already, there is no point for me to request unlock from Sprint. Hope someone could let me know. Thanks.
Sounds like it's unlocked. The Surefire way is to get a SIM from whichever carrier you're thinking of and pop it in there.

Hi Comintel, I need your suggestion. I want to add one more line in BYOD plan. As Wiki said, I am looking for Lg G5 in eBay. Do I need to look for Unlocked version with CDMA or Sprint network?. My doubt here is if it is Sprint network mobile, Will I able to port in to Sprint without any issues?
no one can guarantee " no issues" but is safe to say, if u follow wiki
(read the relevant info twice)
get correct sim card for your phone (lg g5)
know the process, u should not have any issues.
if u go with lg g5...prepare to get the correct sim card now.

in my experience this seller lg g5 will work on the byod plan

Does everyone if Magic box will use up one line? I have 4 lines and plan to get limited 5th line. If Magic box cost 1 line then i'm not going to use it.

Thank you

Did you purchase 6S plus recently?. How did you unlock it?. Today sale is going on in Boost mobile and planning to buy 6s. Is it locked to Boost network?.TIA.
Yes. Bought recently from Boost. As a lot of others said , the phones were mostly likely locked to Boost or Sprint, but some people got the unlocked phone, it's pure luck,no one knows what you will get. I am still not positive as whether the phone is locked or unlocked. I don't have active sim to test. 6s is $100 and plus is 130, but plus is currently out of stock. If you receive the phone in not ideal condition, just trade in for apple gift card , you have nothing to lose. Also if it's locked , after activate on sprint , you could request unlocking after 50 days

Looking to port my iPhone X out of Sprint and back in quickly under my wife's SSN to get on this deal. Does she need to be the one to call or can I just provide her info? (I'm assuming that the suggestion to call and not do it all online in the deal page is still valid)

It's suggested and easier that your wife call in to setup as during the credit check, some credit history information may be needed to verify identity and pass the check successfully.

You may have recieved a Unlocked model out the box, not just carrier unlocked. See Settings > General > About > Model.
It maybe the A1687, that's global unlocked model. A1634 should be fine with sprint as well.

Thanks. Just did what you told me., it shows A1687 carrier shows Sprint. How this can tell if locked or unlocked?

Mine shows A 1687, so it's unlocked ? I bought two, the other is 1634 As you said that A1687 is unlocked out of box , but why I was unable to have it activated on Sprint without requesting resku? Mine somehow still locked to Boost, as It innitially showed on Sprint checker that the phone still owed money?

As long as you have all the info, You can just call in as your wife..and say "Hi this is Mary and I would like to sign up for the BYOD plan"(in a male voice, of course).

It does take up a line by default - I had one - but they might be willing to give you an extra line after you use up all 5.. Some people said they were given up to 10 lines. You could call the number ending in 8777 and ask.

Thanks and repped. Actually I bought this as preowned , it initially was unable to be activated on Sprint until it was reskued. Now it passed the check and ready to use. I believe it is still locked to Boost/Sprint, BTW, even after Sprint reskued the phone, it still shows incompatible with Ting. I want to swap my Moto g5 plus with this and request unlock in a few days without waiting 50 days. Not sure if this is even possible? Thanks.
Others have commented quite a bit.

It does not hurt to put it on and ask! In some cases phones can be unlocked right away, in other cases it takes 50 days.

Account Services are the only ones who can say. I think a direct number is 18443823317 . Chat and phone support cannot do these.

I was able to get in on this again. We switched to the BYOD Google Fi $200 promotion and then switched back to this after 2 months. Google Fi credits will be waiting when this is over. I ported one number to Number Barn for $7 and then ported to Sprint. It was easy and number barn customer service was great. I had to contact them because the port wasn't working. It was because the port in and out times were too close together and it was getting rejected. I chatted with them and they fixed it. I've even got a Magic Box on the way. Another year free!
