Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Hi, 2 questions.

1) I checked my apple 5s on Sprint website, and it says " this phone can't be activated online, please chat with Care so we can help."
Do I chat with Care or do I call the 8777? Which way is easiest? need advice.

2) I talked to the 8777 telesales number to order a sim card, but the rep said I need to have a Sprint account first. She asks for SSN, but I need to make sure my 5s can be activated, do I make an account and order the sim card first? need advice too.

Thanks guys
I hope it is a Sprint 5S. Where did it come from? It will not work if it is the GSM model. If in doubt, you can look it up by the order number. https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac...ords=A1533

Did the 8777 number not check the IMEI for you? If not, call them and ask them to just check the IMEI. What do they say? They should have better information than the checker.

Assuming that is ok, then personally I would get the sim at an Apple store (free at most Apple stores), then call the 8777 number to activate. The only definitive way to see if there is a problem is to try to activate it. Sprint Care might give you a wrong answer. They do not handle this plan.

If you prefer, you can order the sim separately at https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ffi liate

(that kit will have the sim for Sprint 5S)

Then, when you have the sim, call the 8777 number to sign up.

A quick question.... I already have an active account with this BYOD free plan so.....

If I am logged into my account when ordering the sim kit for $2.99 online (or by calling in), is the cost of the kit added to the next bill from Sprint, or does it need to be paid for with a card at the point of ordering?

My free year is coming up so I chatted with them to cancel the line. What an exercise in frustration. I think they purposely make it difficult to cancel. I was transferred 3 times to a "specialist" and finally had to be transferred to a "supervisor" to cancel. There was nothing difficult about my account. I just had the one phone number that was free for the first year. The whole process took over 40 minutes from beginning to end to just cancel the line.

I know the line was "free", still had to pay the $2.90 monthly, but still. Their customer service SUCKS!. So if you are planning on cancelling, give yourself about an hour for the process.

I do not believe you can cancel via Chat with most other carriers either, or with their Customer Service either.

They all require you to talk to Retentions, which is called Account Services in Sprint.

However I agree they handled your call very poorly. They should have transferred your call to Account Services promptly. I cannot imagine why this did not happen.

Just call Account Services/ Retentions directly at 18443823317 to cancel.

Or easier yet, just port out, which takes effect immediately.

The Wiki has excellent details on how to cancel via Porting out via one particular provider that serves the purpose particularly well.

Note 8: porting out of sprint
if u hate the service best to cancel via porting out of sprint.
that will cancel the account. ...
if u go this route, u must port out every number to have account completely cancelled.
if u have more than 1 line, then porting out 1 line will not effect the others.
if u dont care about number, port out to h20 and let number die.
h20 sim are pretty inexpensive on amazon.
order now as it is good to have h20 sim on hand for future use.

But do you have to actually sign up for a plan with h20 to do this? As in fund a new account up front or anything like that?

Thanks again. Will try. Someone said that the model I got A1687 was unlocked out of box for global use. I doubt , because I was unable to pass sprint check saying that the phone was financially not cleared. So I have to have it reskued. Will put in an active sim if I get a chance. Put the imei into Verizon and at&t checker, it looks passed, gave me plan choice to continue. I am at loss.
Oh I remember now, you said that it is still being rejected by Sprint mvno's.

Sorry I forgot that.

Do we know for 100% sure that it will go on Sprint postpaid? I would verify that by actually putting it on to be sure that is the case. I think that very rarely there has still been a problem occasionally even though the checker said it would be ok. Also further unlocks may be possible after it is on Sprint postpaid (possibly requiring 50 days however). But others here know more about iPhone unlocks than I do.

My 1st free year is ending next month end. If I want to get this service with family members name, is it safe to do now or wait until next month? I see this promotion is ending by 31st march. But every time they extend few more months.

Also I am planning to use same numbers. What is the best way to do it now? I know people were doing with T-mobile port out. Just want to check if this is still working or any other process.

I have no iphone experience but maybe these tips can help. https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...our-iPhone

Otherwise post here again with model number and things you have tried. Many here can help.

Absolutely true - I do it that way via H2O myself, based on your advice, now included in the Wiki.

It works great. I updated my reply to mention it. It may be too late for that particular poster this time round but others reading the post need to know.

I believe this will be extended again very soon. I would wait and check back on Friday or certainly by the following Friday the 15th.

The t mo online portal worked great for me a few months ago but lately i have read about some issues. Personally i would try it first and then move on to an alternate method if it doesn't work out.

I ported my main number and signed up with my XS yesterday. Super long process with almost 50 minutes on the phone. I think the xfinity mobile port took longer than expected (but thank god!).

One thing the rep said threw me. I didn't want to argue having been on the line for 40 already. She gave me this spiel about not being able to 'change' the phone on the plan for 120 days. I specifically asked her if she meant 'upgrade' and she said not even 'swap'. Is this true?

I've checked the wiki and it says otherwise - ie you should be able to swap phones at will as long as the imei in sprint's system gets updated to the new phone, you should be fine. I was going to try with an iphone SE I have lying around but the sprint self-serve site is down.

You poor thing. How much did you save over the course of a year? I'd place blame on you by not asking for a supervisor from the beginning.
