Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

yes i have ported back to free plan after 45 days. sprint performed a new credit check, a new account was created and was approved for 5 lines. they had problem initially in running my credit, as my ssn was mapped to older account, but they connected to a different department which closed my old account, removed my ssn from that account so that a new credit check can be run and can be associated with a new account. i did everything via phone.
Thanks... I was able to port and create account using the 8777 number.. but my SIM never got activated (even though it was the same SIM used last year on the same phone).. that was weird ... had to go to Sprint store, and the technician was able to clear all network settings and activate using a new SIM..

That's normal when you try to do it online because manual processing is usually needed to close off your prior account.

You are eligible after 45 days but that does not mean that the old account has already been formally noted closed yet on the system. Manual processing is often needed for that.

You can just call the number ending in 8777 and they will do everything needed all in one call. They will do all of the liaising with the credit department for you, as they always do, including noting the prior account as closed formally where needed.

You could call the credit department, but I personally do not see the point of dividing it into two steps for no reason unless you are absolutely intent on doing as much as possible online for some reason. It seems to me it can be an advantage for the sales rep to see your prior account and excellent payment history etc rather than starting over as an unknown, or leading them to wonder if you are trying to hide your prior account for some reason, or are perhaps impersonating the owner of the prior account.

The first thing I tell them is that I had the prior account and I find they like to look at it. It helps establish who you are. They know it is likely going to go through since it went through before. So it smooths everything along. Believe me they want your account back, and the commission that goes with it. You can give them the Sprint Complete commission to bribe them further, then cancel it later in Chat.
Thanks Comintel,

Slimy Sprint cancelled my account on 3/3/19! Chat said due to nonpayment but autopay charged my card on 3/1/19. I wonder if it is because I did not use it enough? Probably should have used it some.

Going to call dedicated number to try to get it reactivated!
Why are you bothering a company to reactivate something that you're not going to use?
What's the point?
Furthermore, who is being "slimy"?

Yeah the stores do not sell the factory unlocked models, so do not have much occasion to know about the sims (Sprint models always come with the sim pre-installed).

Just to give credit where due, edog11 was the one to first correctly post the sim, on Feb 22, beating the whole world..

Ported 5 lines from Tmobile one by one. I took me 1 week to accomplish all that, waiting on sim cards. Yes it's a little work on my side but hell it's worth it 1y free unlimited service, actually is $1.99 per line with autopay. Everything works fine and I'm surprise customer service is not that bad considering I had Sprint awhile back with bad experience from them.

I shouldn't complain cause it's free but i have to say this: Sprint service is really suck compares to T mobile and ATT (I live in Boston). Still i'm glad that i only pay ~17 bucks for 4 lines

Wow, we get actual advance notice after all! I was guessing we might get at least some notice. Sprint has come through on that, apparently.

Last Call: Sprint's Free Year of Unlimited Service Promotion is Ending Soon
It does not say "May be Ending Soon", it says "Is Ending Soon". This is Sprint talking (via the SlickDeals staff member) in my opinion.

Quote :
word on the street is that this promotion will stop accepting new sign-ups around the early part of April 2019.
It does not say "may stop". It says "will stop". This is Sprint's marketing department, in my opinion, trying to create a last-minute rush before they cut it off.

These Sprint-related SlickDeals articles on this promo have always been inspired by word from Sprint itself, in my opinion, via SlickDeals' advertising relationship with Sprint (and certainly not from content in this thread) so I think that we now know a highly-likely end date - "around the early part of April." That is pretty specific!

That could be for example April 4, which is the end date for some other Sprint promotions, or perhaps could be a week later. (Perhaps it could even be April 1 too).

If Sprint told SlickDeals, they may have told others as well, so we may see other "Last Call" articles in other places too, typically other Sprint-inspired articles in media that accept advertising from Sprint. We can watch out for them.

It is interesting that we get this on the very date on which Sprint might, judging by past patterns, make a decision about extending or not-extending the promo. I imagine that that decision has indeed been made and there is probably an internal announcement.

Extensions have been announced early morning on the second Friday of the month. Happened in January and today. So i wonder if this gets cut off at the same time next month. I hope we can get an official word from Sprint at some point.

just curious to know what you meant by " I wonder if it is because I did not use it enough? Probably should have used it some".

Are you saying you did not use the phone at all? no calls(incoming/outgoing) and no texting?
Yeah i just put it in my drawer. Was going to add a line later for potential S10 deal.
