Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Where should we look to see if the unlocked Samsung Note 9 is finally enabled to roam on Tmobile when using Sprint?

I do not know, but one time to check would be after they finally enable VoLTE on Note 9 for Sprint. I think they have not yet enabled it even on S9, either branded or unbranded. The features often go together, although they do not have to.

There are a whole bunch of Galaxy phones that do not have either VoLTE or apparently the fullest degree of roaming. Hopefully we will see them all updated to add both. Some people are expecting that. It should get wide coverage when it happens.

Thanks! Any websites out there that talk specifically about this or will announce or confirm it first?

Probably s4gru would be best.
They have a dedicated Note 9 thread there at

I want to port out to Tmobile pay as you go and back with a relative's ssn, I read some recent thread that the Tmobile account number is no longer 1+phone number as wiki stated, could someone confirm if this is the case? Thanks.

It is the case.
If you do the online port as described in the Wiki FAQ 1 your account # will be listed on the last order page when you order online.
You may or may not get a confirmation email of your order with the account # so pay close attention to your final order page and write down your account #, along with the pin you just created during the order process.

I am on day 16 of the 45 day blackout to open new account.
Someone on this thread mentioned that they were able to open a new account well shy of the 45 day threshold a couple weeks ago.
I called the now infamous and soon to be legendary 866 number.
Stated that I was previously on the BYOD. Also that I wanted to open a new BYOD account. Also that I just left three weeks ago.
The lovely lady understood exactly what I wanted. She put me on hold to ask a supervisor.
"No, the BYOD is for new customer sign ups. You will have to call after 45 days" was the answer. I thanked her and was ready to hang up and she proceeded to ask if I was bringing the same devices back.
"Yes I am".
She then said if she tried, the credit department would probably see recent activity and deny the app.
"Well, I will try it you will"
We did so.
Credit rep then saw my two previous accounts and said "please hold while I suspend these".
Presto whambam new BYOD.
I don't know if they are more lenient because the end is near, or if I was just lucky.
I'm sure the original rep wanted to sign me up because it would be fast for her. Imagine the time wasted for these sales reps when most call unprepared for port, incompatible phones, etc.
So, might be worth a shot for those worried about the looming cutoff.

One thing for certain. This has been typical of my experiences with Sprint for two years now. Too many good encounters to be dumb luck.
Yes, the archaic CDMA and sim matching is a PITA. Provisioning devices can be glitchy. Franchise stores are a nightmare.
AND I am almost always impressed with the individual, in- the- trenches CS reps.
Third year here I come.
XOXO Sprint.

So after waiting for long on S8, I finally bought the new S10 unlocked and activated it on sprint plan. Now the issue I am facing is i can make calls, send and receive text and all data is good. But the incoming calls are never reaching me or never ringing. I have spent hours with Spring Support and no luck
tried resets using the ##72786# and updating the PRL many times.
did *720, *730 and *740 as well
When I use VOLTE it works and rings...

Not sure what else can be done. Something wrong with the signals, but have tried everything which I can think of, any other suggestions, ideas are welcome.

What sim part number do you have in the phone?

Also have you tried disabling VoLTE and Wifi for test purposes (you may be implying you have but I wanted to be sure).?

Thanks @comintel, i had bought the 4in1 kit from the sprint store and use the new SIM SIMOLW516TQ.
And yes i did disable the VoLTE and WiFi for testing.
I did try with both off and each one ON as well. When I am using the VoLTE only it works, Wifi works and both ON works as well.

Oh the signal bar is ranges from 1 to 2 at the most.

Very good ok I have another thing you can try.

Try disabling band 41 and see if it works.

If that still fails try disabling band 41 and 26 and see if it works now.

This hypothesizes a weak flickering signal on a band is the problem.

Note you have to reboot the phone after making these changes before it takes effect.

This is quite likely to be the problem.

I think the biggest single factor here was that you came across as a friendly, knowledgeable customer who was voluntarily disclosing everything that was relevant.

That counts for a lot!

Thanks again.
Ok way better than before, at least it ring most of the time.
band 41 disabling did not work.
did both 41 and 26 as you mentioned., did worked 3 times out of 10 times i called using my voip, gv and another sprint line and another provider line.

The signal bar seems to be fluctuating between 0 to 2 at the most.
One thing I noticed, when dialed after the restart and I called the number it worked, but after some time it does not work. May be that suggest something..

Sometime the bands will reset after a while. You can check if this happened by displaying them again.. The phone may have reset them after a while, eg after a PRL update. Maybe you can block PRL updates - I do not remember.

Also it may only be band 26 that is causing the problem at your location based on your results. Band 41 may be ok. I was just guessing as to the most likely culprit.

In any case I think you are showing that this is the general area of the problem. If you try it at another location it may be ok.

nice...definitely worth a shot....for anyone in same situation...nothing to loose

reminder..from wiki..

Note 2: For new customers only. If u are a current customer (with any other Sprint plan) , you will be considered a new customer again ONLY AFTER closing your current account for 45 days (note: there are reports of some people getting back in before the 45 days. [it is not guaranteed. but u can try, simply call the above 866 number at say day 30. explain ur current carrier is not good signal and u want to come back, it may work or it may not but doesn't hurt to try]
