Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Do you have roaming enabled and VoLTE turned on?

It seems you have to.

Other than that, it seems to vary by area.

On my Samsung S8 you can force it to roam by disabling Sprint bands but you cannot to that on iPhones.
So far is it just Galaxy S8, S9 and late model iphones that can roam on T-Mobile? Curious as I've not seen it on LG or Moto Z2 as of yet. At least not in my region

The parameters of it are not fully clear.

It works absolutely perfectly and consistently on my S8+ in Raleigh and we are not even a prime Sprint market (though we are a medium-good one and Clear was big here).. It started happening when VoLTE showed up as an option on the phone (although VoLTE does not work yet here actually).

Moreover, there are two levels of it. The better level seems to be only on phones that have VoLTE showing as an option on that phone. That version will switch to TMobile whenever needed to preserve LTE. The lower level will tolerate Sprint 3G and even 2G without switching.

It does seem to be on iPhones 8 and above and on S8 and S10. It does not seem to be on S9 or Note 9. Note 9 users are reporting no switch to TMobile roaming even after totally disabling all Sprint LTE bands and having no 3G either. Note 9 lacks VoLTE as well which I think is the common factor.

Hopefully it will spread sooner rather than later. Some of the above could be bugs or coincidences.

I do believe a number of users of some LG and Moto phones have posted here that it is working well for them and have even turned off Sprint bands to force it for the higher speeds..

That edit is good info. Moto x4 seems to be well optimized for Sprint network. Just lacks native wifi calling.
I Continue to be amazed at the values available on handsets. No need to pay for flagship phones any more
Good info about the lack of WiFi calling. That could be a big problem for some people with little to no service. I just bought one yesterday but returning it due to the recent iPhone deal. If I knew about the lack of WiFi calling I wouldn't of purchased it.

LOL! Nothing is optimized for Sprint network, the Sprint network will be shutdown as soon as T-Mobile acquisition is finished

Network merging will take years

The timeline T-Mobile laid out is that Sprint customers will be migrated to Sprint's network "over the course of three years"

You can swap on the phones from your dashboard or Chat.
Are you sure this will work and is allowed?

Not trying to question you but after I got my x4's to pass the checker I called in to swap them and the telesales rep said there's absolutely no device swapping allowed until after 120 days or it would change my account from the free to a paid plan.

Perhaps that is what they are told to say though...

Rep lied, many including myself has done phone swaps. I did it through chat about a month after. Took minutes to do with no issues or changes to my free byod plan.

Device swaps are officially allowed at any time and this is noted in one of the Q&A on the Sprint web site for this promo.

But you called the wrong department to do swaps. I suggested to start from your DashBoard or Chat. TeleSales has nothing to do with it and always says, erroneously, what they told you if you ask them.

We all do swaps all the time. 120 days is not needed. It is all over the Wiki and the thread.
Do not call TeleSales though. They only handle Sales.
.
The TeleSales office in the Philippines is out of control as to the fibs they tell to promote sales. The 120 day period refers to upgrades to Sprint sales offers only, not to device swaps to a device of your own. TeleSales has no interest or involvement in the latter, so they talk as if only the former existed.

I think their line of thought is, "say anything necessary to talk them out of swapping anything on and then maybe they'll buy a new phone from us instead."

Just do swaps from your Dashboard or Chat. The Dashboard will actually redirect to Chat the first few times.

That is considered a promotion and this plan is not eligible for it, others have posted. Also you cannot do anything in relation to this plan at a Sprint store anyway.

Sprint does not want to pay store commissions and you would need to buy any phone at full price from Telesales or online.
Thanks telesales?

If you really want, you can call Sprint TeleSales at 1-866-782-8777 and they can sell you a phone for use on this plan, but actually in general it is not advantageous to buy phones from Sprint at full list price, or for that matter at all on this plan, even after 120 days, because the payment plans will require you to stay on this plan after it reverts to a high cost paid plan or you will lose the value in the offer.

There are deals on Sprint phones in SlickDeals threads but you cannot combine them directly with this plan. People do things like buy them on a separate paid plan and pay them off and then move the phone to the free plan. But there is not any more straightforward way to do this on this plan. This is a BYOD plan after all..

But you do not need to buy from Sprint. There are lots of great deals elsewhere for Sprint and Sprint-compatible phones that you can buy and then move onto this plan after doing so.

Could you please let me know if I can port out from H2o immediately ? I am thinking about porting out of Sprint to H2o and then port out back to Sprint. I heard that Tello requires that you have to stay with them for a few days before release your number. I know the Tmobile option, but saw that H2o currently offer first month free and I have their sims on hand. Thanks for any input.
