Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Has anyone tried to combine this with the credit union loyalty program where you get $100 for just being a customer?

This only works for unlimited basic plans.

I have this plan and would like to try to sign up for it again. Is that possible? I think my 1 year is up In may, I was going to Port out for a month, then try to re-enroll but that won't work with the 4/4/19 end date. Is there another way to re-enroll without waiting 30days?
Read this:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=126125797&postcount=36968

By the way the "new customer wait" is 45 days not 30.
Some posters here had luck with less than the above wait, and the Sprint credit dept just deleted their old accounts and they instantly became NEW customers, but this is very YMMV.
Port your number(s) out and give it a try, not much to lose. Call again if denied. There is some flexibility here, just be very nice to the reps.
BUT, best to enroll with another SS #, wife, kids, friend, uncle, etc. The port out and back port in can be done in less than 2 hours.

Keep in mind that time is running out, about 2.5 weeks.

Also see freddiez's post on this here (also see below):

They probably have discretion to approve exceptions provided you have been off for at least 14 days (and possibly even less).

Note freddiez just did it - see his posts.

Well said.

The mechanism seems to be currently that the credit department will temporarily suspend the old accounts, rather than "deleting" them. That works just as well and they will be more willing to suspend them than to "delete" them.

That is what happened for freddiez if you read his very detailed report which has quotes.

And that is also what they did for me two days ago. Even though it had been more then 45 days in my case, my previous two accounts were still blocking me. The credit department temporarily suspended them, one by one while I was talking to them. Then, when I called back to TeleSales (since they had given up holding while I was talking to the Credit Department) , it went through right away.

I imagine that, if there were an old account from years ago, they might be more willing to delete the SSN from it (which is what they would actually do, rather than totally delete the account, even if they did do it that way).

Just to be clear: The sales rep was unable to have the supervisor approve re-sign up.
She then explained that she would like to get it done but that the credit department would probably deny.
We continued and upon transfer to credit check he said " hold on while I temporarily suspended these previous accounts".
Nothing else was said. No persuasion or cajoling. I do think I just got lucky.

Same experience here.
Was way over 45 days BUT a couple of old accounts were still active there.
The Sprint Credit Dept., I was told, removed them while I was on the phone with the Sprint rep. It was done between the Sprint phone rep and the credit dept rep. I never spoke to the credit dept rep and was not asked any verify the credit questions. The NEW account was opened right there and the port in was done.
It was done late in the day yesterday near their closing time and maybe that had something to do with it.

By the way, Sprint has ALL your activity in its systems and the reps can see everything.
One of my accounts was over a year old but it was still there.

Excellent!

It should go on fine.

You will need the exact correct sim which is the widely-available xxxxxx416Q as I read the chart. It is even in
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sear...&keys=keys

for 99 cents.
Thanks.....Ordered two just in case I can help a friend .

Yeah they never really delete them. That is just a short-hand expression of the sales rep from his perspective of making requests to the credit department..

Both freddiez and I have been speaking to the actual credit department as they did it live. In my case, the credit department staff person said "I am temporarily suspending the first account - let's see if that goes through ..yes that one went through...ok now I am requesting temporarily suspension of the second account ...good that was approved also....now you are good to go."

I suppose it may not be possible to suspend them if money is owed etc.

I avoided the identity quiz this time also. I have a statement on my credit report asking merchants to call me at xxx-yyyy before approving any credit, and that is what can trigger it, but in this case I got them to call me as it says and they were satisfied with that.

Ah, even more interesting that you got past a supervisor's refusal, if I am following you!

But the supervisor must have been pretty unsure what was possible if he/she let the rep forward on to the credit department anyway. Probably they are as confused about the whole thing as anyone. We have seen that the Sales reps are confused about many things.

I think that, when people try this, some will be turned down at first, but should try again, possibly by multiple routes. If they get nowhere calling TeleSales a few times, they could try calling the credit department directly to ask them to temporarily suspend the old accounts, or even go to a corporate store, where apparently the store can approve exceptions if it has been at least 14 days. The corporate store can set up a skeletal account that will be pre-approved and stop there.

IF anyone here wants to try the credit dept to see if they'll suspend his/her old Sprint account so that you can be a NEW customer, the direct Sprint credit dept phone # is 800-639-6116.

You must be really NICE and extremely POLITE, perhaps offering as an excuse that you went to another cell provider but that service is really inadequate and you'd like to return to Sprint for the free byod year.

Do NOT call the credit dept unless you've ported out for at least a week or two.
Again. this all is a VERY YMMV.

The best way now given the time limitation of the free byod offer of about 2.5 weeks to get this offer is to get another SS# from a relative/friend/etc. Try this FIRST and try the above ONLY if access to another SS# is impossible.

.ost are assuming we can add lines during this last year.
Yet to be seen if new lines can be added after they terminate new account sign ups though.
To play it safe you might want to try to move those lines over in the next couple of weeks.
I can't. I have to wait until I get the rebates.
