It's obviously a mixup but not unique when you do anything other than sign up by phone with everything already in hand and do it then and there with no callbacks planned.

Because of the high rate of problems and long delays when people try to fix these mixups when they do occur, I think I would just go nuclear right away and email [email protected], Senior VP for Customer Management Marci Carris and ask her to fix it. She has done so for many.

Dealing with lower level staff may or may not go anywhere inside any reasonable period of time.
Yeah person on the line now says the person who ported my number did a hostile transfer of a GoogleFi number in their notes and had to temporary change my plan (not a googlefi number) and that they shouldn't have activated or did a plan change on my account. Emailed Marci just now and am currently on hold with offshore support.

Where were you porting from? You don't have to answer though if you're not comfortable about privacy reasons

Plan is already active on first line. Adding additional lines through phone is cumbersome. Is it ok to add lines online after registering account?

Is there a minimum wait time if I am porting out a current Sprint # (non-account holder), then signing up that number as the primary account? I was planning to do it everything in one day on Saturday.

Also, is T-Mobile requiring you to put up money for the prepaid plan if you port to them? I recall signing up via customer service and not having to load funds last year.
I did not wait at all. I posted earlier today that I started the port back to Sprint immediately after the number showed eligible. Mine was the opposite -- account holder to third line, but that shouldn't make a difference on whether you need to wait.

If you do the T-mobile port online, you have to pay the $3. When you call, I think it depends on the call center. The last 3-4 times I called, they told me I had to fund the account due to their new system. After that, other people posted here that they were able to port without funding, thought I have not seen any reports in the last couple of weeks.

No there is no way to do so that works. They have to verify the port-in meets the special requirements of this offer.

I was in the similar situation when the porting people wrongly switched the plan. After many unsuccessful phone calls it didn't get anywhere. Emailing Marci was the good approach even though I felt bad when asking her for help. She resolved within a couple of days. They would issue credit for the first month and free plan BYOD on the following months.

What's the next cheapest/easiest option other than TMobile to port out/in?
I posted a couple of days ago that I tried to port to TM online but its been almost 2 days and the port still hasn't gone through. TM keeps telling me its fine, but I've passed 2 different timelines they've given me for when it should be complete and still nothing. I am still making calls on Sprint w/ my Sprint SIM and the # still shows in my Sprint account online.
I had another TM SIM and went into the online process again but when I enter my # now it says that its ineligible to port (I assume because they show that it is a TM # now). So I thought maybe I could just port out to a different carrier before TM ports to cut them out of the process.

I remember someone said that you need to stay in H2o for some time before porting out? Is this correct? Can I port in and then port out immediately?

Hi,
Unfortunately, you are NOT able to port out immediately. H20 require 5 days minimum. Also, for unlock request with H20, they would need last 3 #s that you call or text for verification.

Sounds like (?):

(1) The request was to port in a Google Fi number
(2) Normally this would be rejected for this plan, but instead the port department staffer in this case tried to force it through by "temporarily" changing the plan type to a plan that does allow porting in from a Sprint mvno
(3) He had forgotten that this plan is restricted as to who can assign it, and so was unable to change the plan back to the Free Plan afterward.

I like the phrase "hostile port" I guess it means he forced it through without getting sign off from Fi because they would not/ will not give it.

No.
U.S. XS Max are all the same model; there are no variants. Sounds like $$$ is owed to Verizon.
Thanks for the reply. It makes sense.

Quote from comintel :
There are no model differences so there could be a problem that affects all carriers but maybe only Verizon has bothered looking at the GSX report.

We are talking about a US model. "World over" is overstating it.

The GSX report is only 99 cents!
.
I will definitely run that GSX report, but seller is not replying now Smilie

One more question, Once I buy iPhone XS and do swap device (start using this new phone by transferring from my current phone), how soon after I swap the device, can I use my current phone to add another line (I know I have to port number)?

Immediately! Seconds later is fine. Fortunately the device database is entirely real time.
