Thanks for all the help here. I was able to port from GoogleVoice for $3 and have this setup. Had to get transferred to tech support and porting service since number was not getting ported over.

The telesales rep was extremely insistent on selling device protection. Even after saying I have Apple Care+ on my iPhone. I finally caved in and let her add it thinking I can remove it... but...
Now in the account page, I keep getting "Internal Error" when I try to remove the device protection. Is this common? Do I need to wait until I can remove it?

Also, this is what it looks like in the account:
Unltd - Bring Your Phone
$5 AutoPay Plan Discount -$5.00
$5 AutoPay Plan Discount -$5.00

Monthly cost $14.00
Plan cost $5.00
Add-on cost $19.00
Total discounts-$10.00

What the hell is this $5 cost? Even after enrolling in auto-pay? And it seems like I hve $5 auto pay discount twice! So total discount is $10.
Just Chat to cancel Sprint Complete.
They can also explain the arithmetic to you or fix it if it is wrong.

Note best make sure you are signed on before chatting.

All chat representatives are busy is what I get when I try chat on the app.

I'll try again later. The data speeds are ridiculous in my house. Loving it.

Thank you for your all info comintel.
I will contact seller and return it. Thank you~

But I just wondering why the Sprint store want me to trade in this device for $340? They can flip this flag some how?
They just want to sell you a new phone and service because they see you are able to spend a lot of money on a high end phone. They can take a lot of things as trade-in. I imagine they would just sell phones that are traded-in in bulk. They can be repurposed later under Samsung and Sprint authorization.

Now that I think about it, Sprint does not sell the factory-unlocked model. At least not at retail - maybe they do for some corporate customers. So it is hard to see how it could have been stolen from Sprint. Maybe it was stolen from a third-party leasing company. Or maybe it is something else. It is really not your problem because it cannot be activated on either Sprint or even on a Sprint mvno and they told you it could be.

Sometimes sellers do offer to straighten out the issue, but I doubt that will be the case here......

Planning to use a digital T-MObile sim to port out from sprint. Have been reading that Tmobile online port-in site is overwhelmed.

Wondering how the port in over the phone goes with a digital sim. Should I be asking for a accouint number and PIN over the phone.

If I decide to use the Tmobile port-in site, at what step of the port-in will I see my account number and PIN.

TIA

ok, so i'm currently on boost mobile.

looking through the wiki, it looks like my best option to port my number to t-mobile with the 3 dollar plan, then port to sprint.

is this correct?

You create your pin right away and get your account number at the end. Make sure you write those down as they don't show up on your email confirmation.

When say the end, is the page transient or is it the last page and just stays on the screen.

Just to confirm: It is possible to port directly from Google Voice to Sprint without going through T-Mobile etc.? What additional information did the Sprint tech support require? Thanks.

Are you able to remove it in your online account? I've tried a few times in the last 2 hours.
I keep getting an internal error message.
There was no way to get the rep to complete the process without agreeing to it. I had to waste 15 mins reading nicely. Finally caved in just so I could get it completed.

yes. Just read wiki FAQ 2. After one hour, call sprint porting dept. to expedite the port.

I was doing this for the first time.
So yes I was able to do google voice to sprint.

I followed steps on wiki. It's all there. Look at google voice port section.
Account number is the phone number.
PIN needs to be setup in the voicemail section of GVoice account.
You need to pay the $3 using the link in wiki to unlock GVoice number.
When sprint sales rep asked for service provider you need to say bandwidth.com

Note that the number won't get activated immediately. Even though everything was done my sim wasn't working, it said sprint as service provider. But no calls or data. I was transferred to port over department and they said bandwidth.com will release in 3 days. But they looked some more and said they could manually override and port over. And it immediately worked.
