Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks!

Am I understanding correctly now doesn't matter if u port to tmobile online or over the phone, you have to pay $3 plan charge? or some people still can skip the $3 plan charge over the phone?
For whatever reason when I ported over the phone they didn't take any money but also didn't give me an account number. My port back worked with the account number of 1 + phone number.

Just ported back to Sprint using a new ssn. Thanks to what Comintel advised, the account number in indeed the one the agent gave me, not 1 plus phone number. To my surpise, this time the system just passed credit check without asking any verification questions. BTW, this ssn failed last time, due to some bogus questions. The agent even didn't ask to enroll protection plan? BTW, how can I find from my account that I don't have extra added? Thanks.
Just login to your account and go to Change Services under "MY Sprint". Click your new line and if there are any services, it will show up. Mine shows "Sprint Complete" plan and I am not able to remove it as it errors out in the last page where it asks to confirm. Called Sprint, asked them to remove it, they transferred me to their Insurance dept. who would try to sell other plans. Politely ask to remove it which they will but will not give any confirmation no., however they asked me to check back after 2 days and it should not be in the account.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Mine still comes up even after the agent mentioned it has been removed

Ported to tmobile, but while setting up the account on the phone with T-Mobile, i think the rep typed in the wrong PIN. So i cant port into sprint since i dont know what the tmobile rep typed in. I only know the PIN i gave the sprint rep for porting is not working. Used a digital sim so i cant create and account and reset the pin. Help
That happened to me last year when I ported one of my lines over. I had to go to a T-Mobile store to get it straightened out and the PIN updated.

That is why I now prefer to do online port so no middleman to deal with to mess things up. Well worth the $3 insurance in my experience.

For me, I used one of my years old Activation card that was lying which has $3.34 value in it. The TMO agent checked the activation code and confirmed it has $3.34 and said that will be used for the 1st month $3 charge for the Pay AS You Go plan. After that she didnt ask me for any payment method.
BTW, I was told my acct.no. is 1 and my phone no. which worked fine while porting from TMO to Sprint. WIll try my e-sim for the 2nd port in and out, though the e-sim seems to come up as valid when I checked now which makes me feel that I can re-use my e-sim.

Thanks found it, there is different part # for XR so I think its no.

Another question - Do I need to unlock/unfreeze my credit to sign up for this?

It is a good idea because otherwise you will probably get an identity quiz at a minimum.

The mainly use Experian.

So I am totally stuck here. Tried to port in to Tmobile. Tmobile has been unsuccessful and I've spent over an hour with them. I provided the exact same Pin and Account # from Sprint. Tmobile customer service is literally useless. I said screw it and tried to attempt to transfer into google voice. Google voice says: "One or more of the telephone numbers on this request has a current order to port to another provider already. Please either cancel that order, and advise when to proceed with this request, or cancel this order". Been on the phone with Tmobile and they said it was cancelled, yet Google voice is clearly showing it isn't. Tmobile is no help... any suggestions?

My guess no. I think the only T-Mobile sims that can be reused are if no money was added to start the pay as you go plan. So plan was never really activated so sim is available to reuse. In this case no additional money was added but $3 credit was used to start pay go plan. Disclaimer just guessing based on previous posts.

Agreed. I gladly would have paid the $3 but the online system was acting up.

I think I understand why Sprint is dying a public death.

I finally set aside some time this fine Sunday afternoon to make the leap from VZW that we've had for years. 37,602 posts to this thread and most of which are current Sprint BYOD customers looking for ways to screw over Sprint and re-up for the same promo again before it ends. Not me. I'm literally the customer(s) that Sprint is trying to win from their competition. We have two Pixel 3's that are paid for and unlocked so it should be a slam dunk transaction, right? Nope.

I start out by assembling all of the info in the first of this thread so that I'm adequately prepared to make the call. I dial the # listed specifically to call and ask the person who answered the phone (she called herself "Jen", it was clearly a stage name has her English was rough at best) about the promotion and if they can help me. "No problem" she mumbles as if holding back a mouth full of marbles. I think she invented a couple of sounds I've never heard made in the English language before.

She asks who we're currently with to which I reply Verizon. She starts out by getting my name (which she then proceeds to butcher every single time she tried to mention it) and call back number in case we get disconnected. She quickly informs me that she'll need to send a text message to my Sprint number for my protection. After a moment of her struggling to find my non-existent Sprint account to send a confirmation text she realizes her blunder and once again asks me who my current provider is to which I remind her that it is still Verizon & has been for the entire three minutes since the last time she asked me. She then asks me for my Sprint SIM card number to which I reply that this is my first contact with Sprint so we have no SIM card number to give her. It then takes her no less than 20 min to tell me that my Google Pixel 3 devices aren't compatible with Sprint. This is after me telling her numerous times that it is absolutely a compatible device and they're not locked to anything as they've never been locked to a provider. We bought them directly from Google unlocked and are on VZW who doesn't lock devices.

She proceeds to tell me that her techs all tell her that this isn't the case and she'd gladly sell me some clapped out used POS for $250usd. I tell her I'm not interested in Sprint if they can't use my existing equipment. She then informs me that she can run my credit while we work out the details of the equipment. Dafuq?! I thought she was joking at first but then she offered it again a few minutes later as if I was just dying to get a credit hit from a company that seemingly can't service me beyond lowering my credit score.

The cherry on the cake was when I informed "Jen" that this phone was made by Google specifically for their own Google Fi solution which was a reseller of Sprint's service. So how the HELL can they do that if the device isn't even compatible with Sprint's network.

FoH!

She then told me that she would forward me to a level 3 technician who could help me and it ended up being a nice lady with Asurion insurance services.... not even a Sprint employee. We shared a laugh about how inept the rest of the world is at the most basic of tasks and then went on with our lives.

'Murica.
