Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Is the $4 taxes & fees one-time, or each month?

Yes people have posted that they received checks promptly - as did I myself also.

updated wiki to clarify:

-While the line will be free [with auto pay], the tax+fees will be ~$4 per line per month (depending on where u live could be higher or lower).

so, i just port in a number form numberbarn to Sprint today.

The port in department told me it would take 4 hours for the line to be activated, do i have to plug the sim into my phone to finally activate it, or would I be able to know when i try to register an account using the same number on Sprint.com, because currently it shows "Device is not active or cancelled".

I'm asking this as this is a new number, and i have another number that i would be handing it on to a family member when they visit tonight.

Re: the official end date of 4/4/19...would this date apply to adding an additional line as well?

I'm a Sprint customer so it's too late for me to port out and back in by next week.

But, a family member is on Virgin Mobile on a non-eligible phone (Samsung Core Prime) so we're planning to buy a used LG G5 or V20, and porting her number to Sprint BYOD before 4/4/19.

According to Note 0, since it's possible to add additional lines at a later time, would she be able to add me to her BYOD account after 4/4/19?

Desired result is that we're both on Sprint BYOD under her account by mid-May ish. Does this seem feasible?

Thanks!

You can try to call t mobile. I called few hours after the first port request today. was told the request was somehow missing some information so hasn't processed yet. It's then disconnected 30 min after that follow up call.

Did anybody successfully port to t motile today? I went through on line for porting my 5 lines at 10:30am today but still not get disconnected from my sprint service. The porting out seems not working. Anybody has similar experience? What to do now? Thanks a lot!

It remains to be seen after April 4.

Guesses are divided.

I think so, some others think not necessarily.

Why does it take more than a day to port out of Sprint? You can do it any time, then immediately reactivate by porting in to her account once it is live. See the Wiki for how to port out to a temporary account on another carrier and then back in to an account on this plan..

As a matter of fact you can do it right now within a couple of hours if you want by having her use your phone (after port out) to open her new account under her SSN, then add her phone later when she gets it. It does not matter which phone goes on first.

You should be able to tell without putting in the sim.

But call again anyway to check progress without necessarily waiting the 4 hours - they do not mind.

The wiki has both a link and a phone number if you do not have them.

Thanks comintel! I cannot believe that I read step 2a and 2b as both/and instead of either/or. In this case, if the only objective is to get my phone on BYOD, then your second suggestion sounds good. In fact, she doesn't even need to add her phone to Sprint/leave Virgin Mobile, does she? She'll just have two phone accounts open with different carriers.
