Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks for that. The Wiki says "swap:You can swap device anytime.
All that is required is that the device u are swapping to has clean esn, has Sprint brand, is paid off, no installment billing."

So someone might want to make an edit.
Edited to say Sprint bands...

The whole porting process took longer this time for me. Sprint to T-mobile porting took me almost an hour. Spent about 45 mins with sprint customer service to port back to sprint. I got lucky too with someone nice on the other side who went through the whole process. She had to put me with the credit dept to get approved. I dont know why it didnt automatically get done. Anyways, its all good and I have to just move my second line to this primary sprint line. Got free service for another 13 months!! Even though sprint isnt as good as verizon and att in my area, cant complain for a free service! Smilie

Thanks and repped. Your link solved my problem. DP: looks like the sims can be reused, at least for the ones without adding funds. Thanks again.

Not sure why you're web is hanging. Try a different browser.

New customer trying to port from mint to free plan before it ends. Read wiki and many pages here. Got SIM from Apple. Got account # and PIN from mint.
1) Is there a better time to call 866 number? Is it 24 hrs and any hours works better than others?
2) mint account number I got is 12 digits, looks pretty long - is that correct?
3) If I open an account now and port one number, is it possible to port another line on same account after April 3rd or promotion end date?

TIA

Call center is in Philippines, so give it another 2 hrs and try...
1.
best time to call is when they are open.
not 24 hours.

use ur judgement...most places close around 6 -8pm.
they are open on weekends

although in Philippians...they follow usa "working hours"...cause u know...their clientele in usa

makes no sense for them to be open when it is 2am here...

but makes sense for them to be open if it is noon here and 2am there

such is job

2.
i dont know

Thanks. Called around 9.30 PM EST and was able to do everything over phone in little more than an hour. Everything looked good but he misspelled my email that I corrected on my Sprint account. He also added some extra charge even when I asked not too, where can I see that on my account. I can't find it. Thanks.

never mind found it. I removed with Chat - real person because bot didn't work. I still see 'sprint complete' under my services? Does it take time to get removed? Also how do I make sure that I am on free plan?

Current AT&T customer - not on Sprint.

I currently have a line on my AT&T unlimited plan that I'm no longer using. If I'm understanding correctly, instead of cancelling I could instead purchase a cheap Sprint phone and have the line ported to Sprint for unlimited for under $5 for the first year? Is that correct?

Thanks.

How do you add DUN to the apn on an unlocked galaxy s9+ running Android pie? Shortcut master apparently doesn't work with pie.
The dun method still work with Android Pie. See the following from the source code (CarrierConfigManager.java) [googlesource.com]:
Code:
        sDefaults.putStringArray(KEY_CARRIER_METERED_APN_TYPES_STRINGS,
                new String[]{"default", "mms", "dun", "supl"});
More info about CarrierConfigManager can be found here [android.com]. You would have to ask the app developer to fix/update the Shortcut Master app for Android Pie if you want to use that app.

There are many methods to edit and add dun to the APN, depending on your device and file permission. Some people are reporting that they can't edit it manually under the device setting, therefore they have to use an app to do it. Some people are reporting that they can't edit the original/default APN, therefore they have to add a second APN with dun in it, etc.

Regardless of which method you choose; basically, you edit and add dun to the APN type. For example, from "default,mms" to "default,mms,dun", and make sure that it sticks and does not overwrite to the default carrier APN by the device firmware's CSC, BYOD Experience (auto carrier/brand switching), and/or Sprint OMADM.

I am old school and an old fart, where I use ADB command for all things and have never had any problem. For ADB, you simply use the following command to add dun to the APN:
Code:
settings put global tether_dun_apn "[NAME],[APN],,,,,,,,,[MCC],[MNC],,[TYPE]"
where,
[NAME] = MHS or any name you like
[APN] = n.ispsn
[MCC] = 310
[MNC] = 120
[TYPE] = default,mms,dun

For example,
Code:
settings put global tether_dun_apn "MHS,n.ispsn,,,,,,,,,310,120,,default,mms,dun"
To disable BYOD Experience:
Code:
pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.android.AutoPreconfig
To disable Sprint OMADM:
Code:
pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.omadmspr
pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.OmadmSprHm
You can find a list of apps/services that you can disable/uninstall here [samsungknox.com] if you want to further debloat and put your device in a lean diet. Hope this helps Big Grin

That makes sense. According to error messages posted here by others, the TMobile computer system was simply too busy and overloaded during the day to accept web port requests.

So most probably it is still fine at quiet times like now. We will see whether the weekend counts as quiet time or not. I think it might in the overall pattern of TMobile load, especially in the evening..

No such luck for me. I tried it about an hour ago encouraged by mrwise's post. Again the only part of the process that worked was my Discover account getting another hit.

Did you get an error message?
Some people have got errors like "Waited too Long for System Response" or something like that.

I think he meant he went thru the online process and got charged, but the # never ported to T-Mobile.

Same things happened to me. I tried to ported 2 line to TM online, got charged $3 each but porting never went thru. I had to call TM to manually port both of them over. As of now one of them is on TM but the 2nd one is still stuck at Sprint.
